I need to capture a screen image of a region in my form. So to say it easily me.captureimage.region (X,Y,Width,hight). I need only to take a screen-shot of the region on my form. So i can set the X adn Y and Width , hight to for example my button. so it has to take an image of my button.

I stumbled upon an excellent article about taking screenshots of specific windows in .NET, and doing something with black and white color rectangles behind those windows in order to preserve the aero effect when saving a screenshot to a PNG.Well, I can't find that article anymore, mainly because crap sites and other stuff not at all associated with taking screenshots SEO'd their way into Google's results.Does anyone know how I can take a screenshot of a specific window while preserving the aero effect?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a program which will allow users to take screenshots of full screen games, such as Call of Duty, Battlefield 3, etc. However, I'm having two issues with my code. First off, I'm having to press the shortcut twice, instead of once like my other shortcuts. This only occurs when the code below is actually in the handling sub. If I just have a messagebox show when the shortcut is pressed, it works every time. Second, whenever I take a screenshot, it either comes out completely black, or takes a shot of my desktop, even though there is a game running in the foreground. I have looked around, and it seems that printscreen is the only way to get a screenshot of a game through vb.net.

I'm taking a screenshot as a System.Drawing.Bitmap and trying to send it through a network as a byte array.If I take the original screenshot and simply save it to disk, it's about 200Kb.Instead I'm saving it to a memorystream so I can write that back to a Byte Array and it's coming out over 6Mb.

View 2 RepliesI'm making some Aero-style transparent forms (signature), and they work just fine. However, to get a screenshot of the area behind the form using Graphics. CopyFromScreen(), the form has to be less than 100% Opacity, so CopyFromScreen doesn't include the window in the picture. This also means that when you have more than one open, they see through each other.

So I'm trying to take a screen capture of the windows form and display only a certain specified area of that screen capture in a picturebox on a different form. Kind of like this. First, take the screen capture of the form: Then get a specified area of that form through x,y coordinates or something and display it on a picturebox on a separate form.

View 8 RepliesI know how to take a screenshot, but how can I take a screenshot of the screen behind my form without hiding the form, taking the screenshot, then showing the form again?The reason I can't simply hide the form to capture the screen behind it is that I need to take the screenshot repeatedly, and hiding the form each time I need to take the screenshot would cause the form to flicker.

I'm working on a project, and one thing it's supposed to do is make itself (the form) invisible, take a screenshot of the current screen, and the make itself visible again.[code]I made the 'FinishScreenshot function to call the 'TakeScreenShot' function, courtesy of AdamSpeight2008 and save that result as a specified image file in a specified location. the problem is, the screenshot ends up usually showing the form that was supposed to be invisible, but sometimes not (usually on the first form). I'm guessing this is because the FinishScreenshot and Take ScreenShot functions aren't finished working until after the form becomes visible again, but I'm not sure.

I need to take a snapshot of a form which is not necessarily visible on the screen. I need to save that into a Bitmap object. I cannot use Graphics.CopyFromScreen() because if there was anything obstructing the form, it will appear in the snapshot taken.

For example if the user enters value for just 2 out of 8 fields then How can i update just 2 fields without affecting the rest of the record. I mean to say that if I use a single update query using all the fields then if some textbox is left empty then it will replace the database field value by null or something else.
