Sql Server - Update By Taking Values From Textboxes On Windows Form?

I want to take the values from textboxes on a windows form and then update the values in the sql server database...I want to update only those fields for which a value has been entered by the user and leave the fields for which the textboxes are left empty by the user.....How can I generate the query dynamically for such a situation???

I haven't yet coded for the update option...Here is my insertion code and i wanted to implement the update feature the same way just couldn't figure out how i can generate the query dynamically....It's a Booking System application

Like I intialize the string by str= " Update Bookings set " and then how i can alter it by considering the textbox values that have been changed....I couldn't find the way...I need shortest and optimized code for this situation....

How can I update and get values in a Windows Forms application while moving one form to other form (like cookies)?
I need to update the values to some variable and again I am going to refer stored values and need to do some calculations.
I have used cookies in ASP.NET but I am not able to find out the same concept in .NET Windows Forms (C#).
How can these issues be resolves?

I am making a booking system. I am using same form for insertion and updation. How can I update by taking the values from the textboxes. For example if the user enters value for just 2 out of 8 fields then How can i update just 2 fields without affecting the rest of the record. I mean to say that if I use a single update query using all the fields then if some textbox is left empty then it will replace the database field value by null or something else.

I am trying to create a form that adds two text boxes together, I have achieved this however when running the program if you forget to enter numbers in both boxes the program crashes! I don't want to display an error message I just want the program to ignore empty boxes.

We have two update panels on our webpage. Now first update panel is having button cancel. While second update panel is having a file upload control.Now if the user uploads a file that is going to upload in about 2 mins, and in between, say after 30 seconds the user clicks the cancel button, the upload taking place in update panel 2 should stop.

I have a large form that reuses several elements, so I decided to create a usercontrol with some common fields. The problem is when the form is filled out by a user and submitted, how do I reference those values so I can input them to my database???
Example:
Using Conn As New SqlConnection(connect)
Using Cmd As New SqlCommand(SQL, Conn)
Cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Acct_Company", txtPartner.Text)
Cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Acct_AccountNum", txtPartnerAccount.Text)
So, above two Cmd lines are for normally inserted textboxes in my form, but what would the line look like to reference any usercontrol form fields?

I think I fried my brain. Something so easy and I can't figure it out. I have a windows form with a datagrid and a dataset and some textboxes.I have a button that populates the textboxes with the selected row from the datadrid. i am doing project of Order Accepting system for five star hotels.Scenario is Waiter will accept order using Window Mobile which is Connected to WiFi present in hotel.I want to communicate to database(Sql Server) present on My Machine (Computer present in kitchen) through WiFi and Add order into table present inside database. However, the issue is that TOtalAMount is getting updated automatically but FinalPrice is not getting updated. Any reasons/mistakes I have done. I have tried it a lot in few ways but could not get that working. What i did not understand is that Total amount is getting updated but Final price isn't.

I have looked all over the web for a way to set up a VB 2008 combobox but what I have seen makes me shudder! I want to , as In Access VBA, set the recordsource/datasource for the combobox i.e. the list shown in the combobox, to the values of another table (currency) and then when the user selects one of these values to store it in the (already) bound field of the combobox (to another table). In Access of course there was a wizard for this sort of thing, but in VB 2008 looks like it is just lots of code.

I am executing stored procedure using ExcuteReader() command. If I execute Stored Procedure in SQL server it is taking 2 secs. But in code taking around 2 mins. I tried DataAdapter.Fill(). Still the same.
What is wrong in the code?

I'm modifying an existing form in Visual Basic 2010 Express and attempting to work out some small kinks I've noticed. The one that I'm having an issue with is getting the form to completely fill the screen without the border going off screen. When I set the form's Size values at W:1024,H:768 the page always opens a little off. I tried setting the size a little smaller, W:1020,H:764, and it still does not perfectly fill the screen. Does the Size value include the border pixels or are the border pixels added to the form's Size value? Is there another value somewhere that could be affecting this?

I have two, soon to be many spreadsheet files. There are cell references between the files which need to be updated. I would write this in a excel macro but these spreadsheets are design tables for Solidworks, a CAD system and it does not allow macro enabled workbooks. So what I would like to do is push a button and open all of the spreadsheets, accept the update workbook prompt then save and close the files.
I've seen a similar command developed by someone using the Soildworks API but updating design tables in solidworks takes ALOT of time to run compared to just opening and closing spreadsheets.I am using Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 along with Excel 2010 Beta 2 (I like to have the new things)

I have an application that I'm building which pulls dates from a database. The start value is stored as payPeriodStart date and I add 7 days to get the end date. I have a windows form where I want the time to constantly be updated. Right now it will take the current time from when the program was started.
For example, if I started the program at 4:30:29 PM that is what it will show the whole time the program runs.I need it to constantly be updated as the seconds tick by.
