I would like to draw a figure like this. But i do not know how to start drawing it. What i could do is simple mathematics calculation, display something in a label and taking some values from a textbox.

I have a situation where I have a label and a textbox that display a time.The database field is set as datetime the label data binding is set to custom HH:mm the textbox data binding is set to custom HH:mm and masked with __:__ Military time HH:mm wants to display as 07/09/2010 in the label and 09:20 on the textbox But it is still wanting to display the date.

I have completed all the code for a loan calculator, but am unsuccessful in displaying decimal variables in string as "currency". I have added the .toString("c2") statement and only get one array to display in currency, then the second array does not round properly. Is there a convert function that will work? Here's my code:

I want to , as In Access VBA, set the recordsource/datasource for the combobox i.e. the list shown in the combobox, to the values of another table (currency) and then when the user selects one of these values to store it in the (already) bound field of the combobox (to another table). In Access of course there was a wizard for this sort of thing, but in VB 2008 looks like it is just lots of code.

View 5 RepliesI'm modifying an existing form in Visual Basic 2010 Express and attempting to work out some small kinks I've noticed. The one that I'm having an issue with is getting the form to completely fill the screen without the border going off screen. When I set the form's Size values at W:1024,H:768 the page always opens a little off. I tried setting the size a little smaller, W:1020,H:764, and it still does not perfectly fill the screen. Does the Size value include the border pixels or are the border pixels added to the form's Size value? Is there another value somewhere that could be affecting this?

I have the following in my little program:A form containing a button and a combo box where each item is a "year" ex. 2009,2010,2011...
When the user selects an item from the combo box, and clicks a button, an excel spreadsheet is displayed in a datagrid.
- Depending on the item selected, a different file is opened.
Now, my problem is as follows. Every time the user press the button, it takes like 50 seconds to open the file and display it in the datagrid.
- The file range is from A1 to J393 (a lot of cells)
The procedure reads every cell from A1 to J393 and puts it in a multidimensional array. Therefore, I would like to know if there is a way to speed up this process.Another thing, lets say I selected year=2009 and press the button.I wait 50 seconds approx.Displays the spreadsheet (corresponding to the year 2009) on the datagrid.
Then
I select year=2010 and press the button.
Wait another 50 seconds approx.
Displays the spreadsheet (corresponding to the year 2010) on the datagrid.
how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.

I am upgrading user control from vb6 to vb.net.In the vb6 application I am loading 3000 labels using a label control array.In vb.net I am doing same but it's taking too much time to load.In vb6 it's taking 1-2 seconds, but in vb.net it's taking 30-40 seconds for same work. Why does it take too much time in vb.net for same work?Code is given below, here Led is the label control array.

Alright, I currently have a listbox being populated with a variety of files.What I'd like to do is select a file, click the add button and populate the item name into that textbox.Then, select another item, click the add button and populate that items named into an empty textbox.I can get the first textbox to populate, but once I select the second item, I can't get empty textbox to display.
Here's my current code on how I'm populating the first textbox. The commented out section was for adding those items into another listbox, which worked but I need to specify a custom order, which I was I thought adding each item to a textbox.

I am making a booking system. I am using same form for insertion and updation. How can I update by taking the values from the textboxes. For example if the user enters value for just 2 out of 8 fields then How can i update just 2 fields without affecting the rest of the record. I mean to say that if I use a single update query using all the fields then if some textbox is left empty then it will replace the database field value by null or something else.
