VS 2005 : Resize A Panel At Runtime Using A Mouse?

May 4, 2009

I would like to resize a panel at runtime using a mouse.I only need Vertical resizing.So, I have panel1 and docked a label to the bottom of the panel, this will be the drag bar.Now I'm thinking I need to use the mousedown event and capture the Y coordinates of the mouse? On Mouse up set my panel height to those new coordinates?Also, I'm pretty sure my panel won't redraw itself when this is going on. Should I set the panel height while I'm dragging?

Resize Images And Aspect Ratio In Net?

Jul 7, 2010

I'm using a web cam that takes 320 X 240 pictures. This sort of gives the picture a "landscape" look to them, and I need to re-size the pictures to a 169 X 225 "portrait" picture. Its for a badge program. Anyway, when I re-size the pictures, they get all scrunched up because of the difference in aspect ratio. Is there a way to re-size the image and the aspect ratio at the same time? Would this be considered cropping or resizing? I'm a little confused on where to begin. I mainly use VB, but if someone has a good example in C#, ill take the time to convert it.

Resize Images Retrieved From MySQL Database?

Dec 13, 2011

I'm using VS 2010 and MySQL 5.5. I've got a data grid view displaying the results of queries entered by the user, shown below. It works; the trouble is that if there's an image in the results, you'll only see a cell-sized very long thin strip of it.

So I want to a) resize any images to a reasonable thumbnail height (say, 100 pixels, naturally maintaining aspect ratio) when displaying them, and b) resize the row to fit them.[code]...

Resize Various Datagridview Objects At Runtime?

I'm trying to resize various datagridview objects at run time, using the following subroutine

Sub GridHeight7(ByVal grd As DataGridView, ByVal highest As Integer)

It appears that that only the top property is passed to the subroutine, that is, rowcount and the others appear to have a value of zero. Using ByRef makes no difference.

Saving Images At Runtime?

Mar 18, 2010

I have been looking all over the internet for the answer to this question: How do you save an Image (actually a Bitmap) to an ImageList at runtime? I have an extremely simple image editor that I created to make the images I require for another program. I have incorporated the image editor into the other program. However I cannot figure out how to save user-created images in the ImageList I am displaying via ListView. If I am aimed in the right direction, I can usually find my way through the maze.Additionally, I may need to know how to select that image (I may be able to figure this out later).

Getting A Runtime Object To Be Movable With The Mouse?

Nov 5, 2009

TabMenu.Controls.Add(btnOrder)
'btnOrder.Parent = Me.TabMenu
'btnOrder.Location = New Point(300, vertloc + 20)
'btnOrder.Text = "Order"
'btnOrder.Name = intCount.ToString & "OrderButton"

So I have my program make buttons similar to the above, I'm going to have a button created at the point were the cursor is, as long as the location is a valid one. Now I have two questions.

1) I want to use the following code to be able to move around any of the new buttons that I place down on the form.

' a quick TY to Ronald_Hare here on the forums for posting this little snippet, as it does exactly what I want.
Private oControlOffsetPoint As Point
Private Sub Button_MouseMove(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As

[Code].....

2) I also want to be able to change the back color of the button based on a number of boolean flags I will be setting. Is any of this possible without completely mangling things? I'm hoping there are some easy options for setting a button made on runtime to use a number of premade subs or functions.

On a side note: This does not need to be exclusively a button. a picturebox or a text box would probably work just as well for what I want to do, but I like the look I can get with the button atm.

Change Background Images Of Buttons In VB During Runtime?

Jun 4, 2011

When I set the button background image in properties, it looks great. When the button is clicked, the image needs to change. I tried to use an image list like this: btnSample.BackgroundImage = ImlStimuli.Images.Item(0)and I tried loading them from a file. I can get them to read, but the image always turns out blurry or distorted. I've tried all variations of alignment, BackgroundImageLayout like stretch/zoom/centered, and I changed flat style, but nothing has worked. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing in properties?

Interface And Graphics :: Displaying Images On Mouse Hover In Different Window?

Jan 28, 2009

I am starting to develop a card game client for a CCG a friend of mine and I are creating.

I have 2 forms Client.vb and Hand.vb linked with a module.vb

In essence when the app starts up I see the client. I can then click the "Hand" button and the Hand Window is shown as well.

What my goal is is to have it so that when i hover over the card (picturebox) in my hand form that it displays a larger image of that card in the preview box (Another picture box) In Client.vb

I have everything working except when i actually mouse over the image in the hand form it creates an error:

Error:A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in CCG 2.0.exe

The code in the mouse hover event:

Code:
F1.PictureBox2.Image = F2.PictureBox1.Image

Im Almost certain im going about this the wrong way but I cant seem to figure out any other way...

PS.I have attached an image to demonstrate what Im trying to do...
