It seems implied you cannot create new user settings.subobjects at runtime. I'm looking to find the easiest way to save a populated array of PictureBox's. If the only way is a self/custom made/managed .ini file then I need to know so i can start on that but I was hoping to use some of all this phaff in the new frameworks usefully.

I do a "My.Settings.Save" when the application exits, and barring the "serializers not found" errors in the IDE, no other errors occur. When I run my application as an exe, it behaves the same way..

Nov 25, 2009If you add a list view, then add a column, and an item, set the view to Details and run it, there will be dots around the item. Those dots will also appear whenever you select an item, along with a highlighted color. I've downloaded projects that don't have them, and when comparing I don't see any difference in listview settings between that and my listview... How do you remove those dots?

Apr 13, 2012If I create a user level application setting and bind it to a text box on a form, then type something in the textbox, the value is automatically saved and when the application is launched again the value appears in the textbox. This doesn't happen when I scope the setting as application.
Why are application scoped settings not saved automatically like user scoped settings are?
If this is by design, how can I manually save these settings and load them at runtime?

I'm using a listview in my application.(view=details) I assign an image list to listview.smallimagelist. when user try to sort the listview by clicking the column header i use the imageindex property to set an icon for that column header, this works fine. When user clicks another column to sort the listview by that, I use listview.columns(PreviousColumnIndex).imageindex=-1 to remove the sort order icon from the previously selected columnheader, but it does not remove the picture from the previous columnheader. How should I remove the icon(picture) from the previous column header?

May 9, 2011I have a ListView with the columns 'Name', 'Expected', 'Total', and I want to add another column saying 'Recount' at the end. The 'Recount' column will ideally have a checkbox only if the 'Expected' value is larger than the 'Total' value.
So far I have got the ListView with columns and can add a check box on the left hand side, but that check box is not under a column heading (though I can probably put another column with no values in there to work around that) and it is on all of the records.

Jun 19, 2010I'm back, and ive continued with my browser. I've added some cool new features but right now im hitting an old problem i forgot about. Basically ive added a music player to my browser. And you can IMPORT your songs. All tracks you import are placed in My.settings.music as strings. Thing is. I made a "edit playlist option". Here's what it looks like for now...
