Cannot Set Startup Object In WPF Project?

I am using VS2010 VB.NET, working on a solution that has a number of projects. I have been developing on it for a while now, and in an attempt to debug a custom class inherited from ObservableCollection (which by the way would not load symbols when debugging even though it was apparent that the breakpointed line was being called), I changed the startup object for the startup project to a different WPF window which I had a couple of controls that I set aside for debugging.Immediately I was confronted with 'Sub Main' was not found in . I tried changing the startup object back to the normal startup window, but now the Startup Object dropdown only has "Sub Main" as it's only option. I changed the StartupURI back in the App.xaml, to no avail.

I have been trying to build the "Testing a class lesson, but the Set as StartUp Project line in the Project menu does not exist! I have redone the entire project 7 times, always the same response! # different computers, all with registered versions of VB. Why does this problem persist?

I have a project in VSTO/VB using a BackgroundWorker that works fine. It is a form that calls for a web page of information. The web page can take a while, so I have the form calling with the BackgroundWorker.I then have an Excel Addin project that has added the BackgroundWorker project. When I call up the form from the Excel Addin project and use the BackgroundWorker to request the web page, it grabs the web page ok. But the work done upon completion, during the BackgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted method, is resulting in an error message:

I am learning Visual Basic Express 2008. When I follow step #5 below, the option Set as StartUp Project does not exist. How I can accomplish this. To create a test project for your class. Open the Persons project that you created in the previous lesson. If you did not save it, you will first have to go back to the previous lesson, Adding Methods to a Class, and complete the procedures.
On the File menu, point to Add, and then click New Project.
On the Templates pane in the New Project dialog box, click Windows Forms Application.
In the Name box, type PersonsTest and then click OK.
A new Windows Forms project is added to Solution Explorer, and a new form appears.
In Solution Explorer, select the PersonsTest project, and then on the Project menu, click Set as StartUp Project. In the Solution Explorer, select the PersonsTest project, and then on the Project menu, click Add Reference. The Add Reference dialog box appears.
Click the Projects tab, and then select Persons and click OK.
Double-click the form to open the Code Editor, and then enter the following declaration just under the line Public Class Form1.

Im trying to get the startup path in a console project I have this
System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.Location())
but that only includes the folder, i need to add that application to that.
How would i get the applications startup/project name?

I am wanting to change my startup form for my application in Visual Studio for VB.Net. I double clicked "My Project" in the Solution Explorer and then clicked on the Application tab. For some reason I only see 12 forms out of the 6 forms I have in my project when the "Enable Application Framework" check box is True. When the check box is False I see all my forms, why?

Can I have Two basic Questions about Setup Project deploying -
1, After I put company's logo at startup installation, there was still text shown up "Welcome xxxx setup.." together with the logo, how to remove it and display company's logo only? Also, if using text display and the text is too long, how to return to next line?
2, If I setup more than once, I was told to remove the first one using Add/Remove program in Control Panel before setting up new program. How can I use a dialog like "Overwrite the existing program"?

I downloaded this project which is in c sharp: [url] that guys sets his startup object as SID.Installer.BootStrap.Program. I created a windows forms application in vb wanting to do what he did. Probelm is I don't get my program class as a startup. Mine has dropdowns for startup form which I can only set as Form1.

i am trying to make a app that loads a keyboardhook from a module on startup, but the problem i am having is unless i load the keyhook from the form, the app just closes immediately.
what im trying to accomplish in the end is the module will will check a 'user settings' file, depending on the settings it will show a form or load the keyhook. but this is where my problem is, if i set the keyboardhook to load from the sub main in the module the app will just close immediately unless (as far as i can tell) i am always typing something
if i set it to load from the form it stays open, ive tried creating a second module and loading the keyhook from their but it still closes i uploaded a copy of the keyhook module if anyone want to test it / check out the code... all it does right now is pop up a msgbox on every keystoke, for testing purposes,

I can hide my startup form (or make it appear hidden) on startup. I can start my app on windows startup--through registry values--if the user checks a checkbox.
But if the app starts up on windows startup, I want the form to be hidden, so the program can just keep working without bothering anyone. If it starts up because the user started it, I want the form to be showing, because the user probably wants to change some settings or something.

If I have 10 project in my solution, and I want to make (project #3 in the list) to be my Startup project, I had to put the mouse over it, and press right click, and scroll through the long menu to reach "Set as Startup Project" and click on it.
I just wonder if I can do that with keyboard. For Example, Click on the project I need by mouse, then press Alt+H (for example)

This is just a general question, I need help with something on Visual Basic 2008. I do not know why, but as of late every time I open up a project in Vb it gives me something called an object browser. I try to find my forms so I can work on my program, but I can't find them. Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to fix it? I can't get to my forms!!

I need a single, global OleDbConnection. One which will be available to use throughout my app/project. Another project like a custom UserControl? I should mention I'm not using TableAdapters, BindingNavigitor, etc. The datasource is not associated with my project. I communicate with the Db through code I write. I'm just a hack trying to ride with the big dogs while I develop an app for my job... We were/are in the stone-age!!!

For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

I have a couple of NET 2.0 projects on the go, but in one of them, I can't access the "Server" object to get at its HtmlEncode property.i.e Server.HtmlEncode("xxx") does not work.
I get the following error displayed in Visual Studio design time error log: "Local variable 'server' cannot be referred to before it is declared." I have tried to add a manual reference to System.Web, but although the dll file is present, it doesn't add itself on - or at least it doesn't display on the "Add Reference" dialog as being added. BUT here is what's interesting - I can access other intrinsic objects such as "Request", "Response"...etc. All except "Server" This is only happening to 1 particular project. In other projects, I can access the "Server" object just fine.

1- i add Project Setup Project for my Project for Visual Studio 2008 Deploy & setup Type Projects and make it with output option and detect dependices
2- i try make it with Setup Factory 8.2.1
3- i try with MSI Factory 2.0
4 i try with Setup Factory 6.0
and after making installer copying it to my test virtual Machine or my friend lap and install it i get this error when try to run my application :

I am somewhat new to object oriented programming and am attempting to flatten a Linq object hierarchy by using a shim class.how to initalize a derived class with property values from a base class?I have two objects, a base object with about 100 properties, and a derived object which inherits from the base object and adds a few additional properties beyond those of the base object. My simple constructor creates the derived object, but I am looking for a way to initialize the derived object properties with values from the base object.Right now I am using reflection to iterate over the properties individually and I suspect there may be a better way. The following example shows my shim class constructor for the derived class, and two properties:
newProperty1 - a new string property of the derived class
flattenedProperty2 - a new string property of the derived class, copied from a 2nd-level object of the base class

Inherits baseObj
Private _newProperty1 As String[code].......
Is this the correct constructor approach to flatten the object hierarchy using a shim class? My second question relates to initialization of properties in the derived class. VB 2005 Express Visual BasicI want to move (part of) projects to different projects/ computer.I used File - export template- and was able to save templates of whole project or item(s).They saved nicely in a subdirectory called "templates" as zip files.How do I import to 1/ other project on same pc?2/ To a different computer?I tried copy zip files into corresponding folder on new system. No luck.

I made a change to a project and hve induced a major problem. I have warnings and errors now, but I can still debug the project with the "last successful build" Iwould like to just revert everything to that build but I can't find a way to eliminate the problems I induced or find a way to go to a earlier build. Hopefully I can get back to an earlier version or I will loose the entire project as I can no longer get to the designer.
