I would like to upload files using the ASP FileUpload control. However, if I try and increase the limit to about 10000 kB, it doesn't work and accepts files only upto 4 MB in size and I get an error saying that the connection to the server was reset. I referred: [URL]..but when I modified the web.config.comments file, nothing happened. Where am I going wrong?
Also, I wanted to know how this would work when I deploy it on the web server. I'm asking because in the code behind, I'm still giving a hard coded value for the path where the file is to be uploaded. How does this work?

Well, the path of the .zip file has spaces in it and it's not recongizing the path as a valid path. Is there a another way to tackle this problem besides the shell?I can't us pkzip either. I am trying to read and display a file using MapPath as follows :

This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.
I'm using acrobat that returns unix paths instead of windows path's. So im wondering if there is a way in vb.net to convert the path to windows path.

I want to capture the image of my webbrowser, or actually just a part of it.I already achieved it, but it just takes a screenshot of it instead of capturing the bitmap itself. So when i use this technique and you drag another window above it, the window is also captured. (this is what I don't want.)

In my app I have a pause and continue button. I capture the last active control when pause is clicked, change the Backcolor to let the user know where they were, from blue to red and leave the cursor there. What I would like to do without disabling and enabling all the controls on the form is to keep the cursor in the LastActiveControl no matter what until the continue button is clicked. In other words, tab, enter key, mouse click or nothing will make the cursor move until continue is clicked. Sound possible?

My problem is I have form, using typed dataset and not using the wizard navigator, I placed buttons. When I run the form, all the control should be disabled (that is ok), when I press (navigation next button) which has the following code inside

The above code, should get the next record(that is ok) plus enabling 5 controls (not ok). Where is the code that is enabling those controls. Is there is a way to capture the enabling of the control by debug or runtime?

I'm running an FTP Server using Golder FTP Server, which is freeware. I think it's setup correctly because connecting to the FTP Server using the exact same string as above using Windows Explorer works great.

I'm wanting to create a control that allows users to upload PDF files and PDF files only. I know that there are object properties for windows forms that allow certain file types, is there anything for win apps? Or do you just have to check the end file extension after they tried to upload it and display an error? I've never done anything with web app uploading before.

I read about WebClient + NetworkCredential, but it doesn't seem to provide progress infos. There are also the FTPWebRequest/FTPWebResponse classes from WebRequest/WebResponse, as well as WebClient.UploadFileAsync.
I'm using a FileUpload control in a website which should only be able to upload images. To that end, I'm checking its MIME type before accepting the upload.Does anyone know whether the FileUpload.PostedFile.ContentType property comes from the file itself or the request? The latter is insecure, since the request can be spoofed. If that's the case, does anyone know a good way to validate a file securely?
View 3 RepliesI have several UserControls in an ASP:Repeater. They are 'Add to basket' User Controls with a text input for quantity and a button to add the item to the basket.
My problem is the value is being reset to 1 whenever I enter a value into the quantity text box. I think this is happening because the containing page reinitialised the repeater (which holds the UserControls) and the quantity is one again before the UserControl's click event is fired.
how to capture the value in the textbox before the Postback occurs, I am happy to stick this data in a session for now.
I am thinking I need something along the lines of PreLoad? But that didn't work for me

View 15 RepliesI have a single series bar chart created programmatically in codebehind which I would like to display the Y point value (somewhere above the bar, or maybe as a tooltip) when the user hovers their mouse over a bar.
Is there a native onmouseover event for the bars of the chart, or is it something that should be added through series.MapAreaAttributes?
I've found the points.tooltip attribute which I can add at the same time I add the point which will do what I want it to do, but it would still be nice to know if you can capture events for the bars, just for future reference.
