View 1 RepliesIn my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR & nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

View 1 Repliesway to "reset" a tooltip, so you don't have to leave and re-enter a control to make it pop? I have a form that is pretty much entirely taken up by one control. I want to have its ToolTip text change based on which region of the control is being hovered over (which I can do now). I just have to leave the control and re-enter it to make it pop. I'd like to have the Tooltip pop, then if I move the mouse to a different location (still inside the control's bounds) have it pop-able again in the new spot.
View 5 RepliesI want to have a counter that measures when a mouse enters/leaves a form. To that extent I used the .mouseenter/.mouseleave commands. This works to an extent. The problem is that moving the mouse over any controls inside a form count as existing it- I don't want this. Is there a way to define the controls as a part of the form? Meaning- if the mouse was over one of my labels- it would count as being within the form. A less elegant way to measure form access could be to use the form positioning, and define capture any mouse movement within it.
View 1 RepliesI have a form that consists of only a TableLayoutPanel (which fills the entire form) containing a vertical stack of buttons. The resulting app is used in conjunction with another app. What I would like is to have the vb app do something when the mouse enters the form. Unfortunately, all mouse enter/leave events are trapped by the panel or the buttons.
As a quick test I created a form with a tablelayoutpanel (docked to fill the form) containing one button. I added the following code:
Private Sub Form1_MouseEnter(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles

Upon careful consideration of the latest syntax additions to the VB.Net language ( ie. 2010 edition) I wish to suggest a name change of the language. My reason is simple, increasingly the language is becoming nothing like the BASIC core language which the earlier versions represented. Thus the basic component of the name in my opinion has to replaced with something.

View 3 RepliesI am using a picture box. I want to be able to use the Space or Enter key to change the image in it. For that, I try to use the keydown function as follow:
Private Sub ChestWindow_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown
Select Case e.KeyCode
Case Keys.NumPad1[code]....
is the function which changes the image. It works well when I press '1' on my numeric part of the keyboard as a test.The issue is that when I press Space or Enter, the form containing the picturebox closes. (I've already put the keyPreview property to True)

I have a drop-down asp:listitem box that looks perfectly clean to me. It functions like when the first time you change a language on that page (Say, English to Swedish), it does change the text to that language.
The second time you try to change the language (Swedish back to English -- or any lang), it just reloads the page and then you have to select English a second time to actually change the page back to English.
I tried removing lines from the code behind, one at a time, but nothing changed it.
My .aspx page is like this:
<asp:DropDownList ID="ddlCulture" DataTextField="DisplayName"
DataValueField="Name" runat="server" BackColor="#DDE4EC" ForeColor="#465C71"
Width="130px" AutoPostBack="True">
