Leave And Re-enter A Control To Make It Pop?
Dec 16, 2010way to "reset" a tooltip, so you don't have to leave and re-enter a control to make it pop? I have a form that is pretty much entirely taken up by one control. I want to have its ToolTip text change based on which region of the control is being hovered over (which I can do now). I just have to leave the control and re-enter it to make it pop. I'd like to have the Tooltip pop, then if I move the mouse to a different location (still inside the control's bounds) have it pop-able again in the new spot.

Nov 21, 2009I want to have a counter that measures when a mouse enters/leaves a form. To that extent I used the .mouseenter/.mouseleave commands. This works to an extent. The problem is that moving the mouse over any controls inside a form count as existing it- I don't want this. Is there a way to define the controls as a part of the form? Meaning- if the mouse was over one of my labels- it would count as being within the form. A less elegant way to measure form access could be to use the form positioning, and define capture any mouse movement within it.

Jul 18, 2012I have a form that consists of only a TableLayoutPanel (which fills the entire form) containing a vertical stack of buttons. The resulting app is used in conjunction with another app. What I would like is to have the vb app do something when the mouse enters the form. Unfortunately, all mouse enter/leave events are trapped by the panel or the buttons.
As a quick test I created a form with a tablelayoutpanel (docked to fill the form) containing one button. I added the following code:

Jul 5, 2009My main goal is to have an excel spreadsheet that automatically plots the overall success of my stock portfolio over time (% change over time). I've been able to incorporate stock data into my spreadsheet by linking it to the web, but the trouble is the spreadsheet will keep no history of what the previous stock values were, so I can't graph how things change over time. This sounds like it might be too complicated to be built in to excel, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to program this in Visual Basic. Maybe something like this.... If refresh then new cell plus new time stamp. Another possibility would be to have a whole bunch of cells that refresh only once but at longer and longer intervals, e.g.,

1. Should I use a single repository for all my tiny projects under C:\VB.Net\, or should I create a repository into each project [code] If using only a single repository, will Mercurial filter changes so I can see only files belonging to a given project?
2. What files/directories can I leave out of Mercury? For instance, here's what VB2008 Express created for a single-form project: [code]

Feb 22, 2012I have an old app still written in VB2003 that required some changes, part of that was revamping a menu that isn't behaving.I've deleted it and it doesn't show in the designer but when I start the program there it is, and still not correct.How do I really get rid of it so I can build another one?I'd hate to have to delete the whole MainMenu, this is the 5th in line, that would be a lot of re-creating.

Right now, the DataSet.HasChanges property isn't true UNTIL you leave the current cell. If you don't click on another row, then the property is not true yet. How can I tell it that it is true without physically clicking on another cell?

So the user can click on exit, or click on the X?
