Is there any way to change the language of the installation interface of the software that I publish? I'm currently using Chinese(Traditional) version and I want to change the install file into English.

i have a project and wish to use a setup file that installs all required software .net etc . I can manage this using the publish function .But i also need to add a couple of csv files to the installation.
change the installation folder to program files instead of application files . I think i need to use the setup and deployment and add a new project using "visual studio installer" .This as far as i have got i can not seem to create a setup (the one i built just hangs)

Iam changing the installation directory because when the application is installed in program files, my database can't add and edit record. having an error something like "operation must need an updateable query" because of that error i tried to install the appl in documents and there n error i'd encountered like when I install it to the program files folder.

frmMDI is the main form, I want to be able to open a child form but change the mainmenu to go with that form. I am having a heck of a time getting this to work.
When I close said childform i want the main menu to revert back to the starting mainmenu.
This might be a stupid question but I cannot figure out how to do it. I am making an application used as a touch interface. What I want is to make a form in VB.net, ie buttons and a browser window and possibly some images. When I press a button such as next page etc. I would like it to be a new interface ie different buttons maybe a picture instead of the web browser etc, pretty generic. I can see how I can do using multiple forms but I am wanting it to be one application/one window.
Am I missing something as I thought this would be a pretty normal thing to do, ie having different UI's so when you click a button it takes you to the next page. Should I been using multiple forms and then get the form2 to replace form1 etc?
Im quite new to VB actually and i've run my web application using VB .net. My problem here is to change the standard border color so that it would not look dull and just to make it look custom from other application. How can i change it? ive search all the properties but havent solved it.

I have a form with buttons, and the user can change the colors of the buttons with the color dialog box for fun:
Button_Play.BackColor = ColorDialog.Color
There is a reset button to put the colors to how they were without any special coloring, but I can't get them to go back to how they originally looked.They go to gray in the middle, instead of the nice shaded blue/gray style. I have tried a few different things:
Button_Play.BackColor = Button.DefaultBackColor
Button_Play.BackColor = SystemColors.Control
Button_Play.BackColor = Color.Empty

Both of them are images to scale. View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a .dll that contains a lot of basic functionality that a program can use. Currently i am trying to use interfaces to make a lot of this functionallity independend of the program using it but i hit a snag. The Basic idea is that a programmer will create his own object using the interface discribed in my .DLL file. Then implements those functions as he likes. He can then instanciate a controller (found in the same DLL) and sends his custom object implementing the interface to that Controller. The controller can then be started and will take over all the work. I do not know what type of object is send to the controller and idealy i want to program it in such a fashion that i shouldn't care as long as the object send implements that interface.In code I am trying to achieve the following: (quite simplyfied)

this propperly. I know that the second i set the interface adaptor in the Controller VS comes nagging that it can not be converted to a "MyInterface" Class. Obviously i am doing something wrong. I can change the datatype that the controller expects to the "MyController" type but that would completely ruin the whole idea of flexibillity. I am hoping someone sees what i am trying to do and can point out where i made the thinking error.
Is this where i would post a picture of my interface and get feedback on changes for easier use? If not is there someplace on this forum or any other forum to do this?

It pretty much became obsolete and replaced with the Interface INewFoo with a change a few weeks ago, but for backwards-compatibility purposes, i wrote a wrapper class which implements INewFoo and takes an IFoo in the constructor.To clarify, consider the following code.

For both interfaces, the implementations are loaded by scanning a few assemblies with StructureMap. Now, let's get to the bad things. Most implementations for the old interface were put into forms for reason i can neither understand nor change. Because those tend to be displayed and disposed, i have to create a new instance every time i use ObjectFactory.GetAllInstances(Of IFoo). Thats still no problem, but i'd like to register a INewFoo-Wrapper for each registered implementation of IFoo, so that i can just use ObjectFactory.GetAllInstances(of INewFoo) and get all implementations of IFoo AND INewFoo.I can't iterate through the implementations of IFoo and register a wrapper for each one because as far as i can see, you can just register those with instances.Wrong code below:

I've published my application for installation via CD or DVD. I installed it on my machine and it worked fine. I have a couple of questions, I couldn't find the answer to in the GUI. First, when the application is installed, it immediately launches. Can I make something in the installation where a user can click a checkbox saying launch after install? If not, how can I disable the application from launching after the install. And secondly, the application is installed, a desktop shortcut is created, and the application is added to the programs on the start menu. How would I add an uninstall link in the program menu along with the icon to launch the application? Currently I have to go to the control panel add remove programs to remove the application.

I am using WindowsXP The download was completed and when the setup starts the progressbar of .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 stops in half way and it is just stuck up with no further movement ahead even after 30 or 40 minutes time. I tried it several times but it just stucks up in half way.Because there are 5 or 6 components of vb express 2008 download and it installs only first component and when it reaches the second component of .Net Framework SP1 the progressbar just helds up in the half way.
