Check Combo Box Entered Text Against Database?

I this application, I am retirving data to fill combo box from database.There is a search buttom next to it which takes that selected and search in database and retieve other data related to it.Now in the combo box, one can also enter data (textfield too).So if the person enters wrong things, I want to display a message that " Incorrect value"
My code for the onclick_search is as follows:

I have a Combobox, set to DropDown style that is bound to a Collection.I want to enable the user to type text in the edit portion of the combo and if the value is not in the list SAVE the data in a collection if it is not already in the collection, of course it wouldn't be if it was not

i have two textboxes and 1 button and label1 in my asp.net webform ...when i enter Sumit in textbox1 and 23 in textbox2 then it validates the database to check whether then value entered in textbox1 is present in Name column of database and 23 is present in Age column of database....then it redirect to ~.Default2.aspx else shows error message in label ...

I have an windows mobile application. In the windows form of it, I have a combo box.I load the values in the combobox on frm_load event.Now we all know what the combo box has the facility that it allows to enter text as well as chose from the dropdown.So when they enter the text, I want to validate it against the list that is in it.If not then msbox error.

I hope this question is sufficiently clear I'm trying to port an application that I wrote in Access VBA to VB 2010 express and SQL Server. In Access, when the user enters an item in a combobox that is not in the item list an event is fired ("not in list") from which I can set up records in related tables. How can I do the same in VB? I can't see any equivalent to the "not in list" event.
To be more explicit with an example. An address consists of Street, e.g. "23 Acacia Drive", Town, e.g."Wilton" and County, e.g. "Oxfordshire". When entering a new address, the form first requires a street entry in a text box. Next, a Town entry in a combo box which is populated with towns already in the address table. If an existing Town is selected the (previously disabled) County field is automatically filled from that town's County as read from the database. If a new Town is entered the County field is enabled and the user either selects an existing County or adds a new one which is added to the database using similar logic on the not in list event.

How to only check that checkbox which is entered in textbox ? On my form I have 4 Phone Number fields, at least one of them has to have a number entered for contact purposes. I am trying to check and see if at least one is. I declared a form variable;'declare a variable to see if at least 1 phone number has been entered Dim count As Integer = 0..In the text changed event I do this;[code]But when I add a breakpoint as soon as I run the app it says count is 1 on the first phonenumber. What is the error in my logic. Somehow I need to be able to tab through all 4 controls and if they are all empty then let the user know they need to enter at least 1 phone number.

I want to validate a string in a textbox after a period.Lets say that it needs to be ".rad" (whatever). When I enter "radjesh.rad" and press "OK" it should check if the last 4/5/6 (whatever) characters (including period) are in the string. If I'd enter "radjesh" it should fail, but if I'd enter (e.g.) "radjesh.jrkrk" it should work.

This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. The program has a DATABANK of words with the phonetic spellings and matches the word, then translates to phonetics. The problem is that new words keep appearing inside the language. I have a text file with some call records in it. Each call record states a line in that text file. And what I want to do is that parsing to database with a 100% success rate. Due to sometimes the SQL connection might get buggy or stop or w/e so it came to my mind that I should make some function or maybe a stored procedure to check whether the requested/selected or whole lines in that text file have been successfully added or not to the database. Let's assume I have 10 lines in a text file called "log.txt" like:
call line 1
call line 2
call line 3
call line 4

And assuming that the SQL connection to the database got stuck somehow(buggy) and it stopped inserting those lines to their respectively columns. Let's say it parsed lines from 1-6 and it stopped there, that's where I need the app to tell me that it stopped and continue inserting immediately where it stopped at to the end from 6-10th line. What am I supposed to do? The smoothest way so that the processor doesn't get overwhelmed (in case there are like hundreds of thousands lines). And should it be written in SQL as a stored procedure or written as a function from VB side.Toolkit : Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate - VB.Net language & Microsoft SQL Management Studio 2005 - SQL Database.

Vb is not my language of choice , but I have to do this for school and I'm not having a very easy time with VB's documentation.I'm just creating a very simple console application that accepts user input: degrees in Celsius, and converts it into Fahrenheit. I'm in the middle of creating an application that will be used to input customer information whilst the customer is speaking to someone over the phone. This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.
I've already asked on other forums and people are where replying giving me third party programs that I could use to implement this, something I don't really want to do.
