View 1 RepliesI've got an app where the user uploads an image and the app resizes the image three different ways based on different variables. They all use the same image. I can't check to see if it's done using the image so I wondered if there was a way to check to see if the file is writable. A small loop that exits once it becomes writable (or "deleteable"). Working out of VB.NET.

View 8 RepliesBasically I want to have a picturebox which shows an embedded resource if not connected to the internet, and an online image if connected to the internet.I assume this can be done on the form load event, I just don't know the code for it. Basically this is the logic though:
-If 'http:/[url].... is available (therefore connected to internet)
-Picturebox1.Image = http:[url].....
-Else[code].....
How can I code that properly? Would putting it in the form load event work?

View 2 RepliesI am trying to code something that will check if a png image is visible on your screen. So lets say the image is a purple square with yellow circles in it (random example). It will keep checking to see if the same purple square with yellow circles is on your screen. What I'm trying to say is, instead of checking for one pixel color, check to see if the actual image is on there (maybe multiple pixels?)

Is there any easy way to check if a selection made by a user from the browser is an image type and not any other file type. I could check for extension types i.e. bmp, jpg etc but what I would like to know is whether there is a generic term.
View 4 RepliesI currently have a picture box and it has a MouseHover event. When the picture box is hovered the picture will change images. But when it is not being hovered upon I need the picture to switch back to the original image. Is there anyway to do this.
Currently I have:
Private
Sub picOpen_MouseHover(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles picOpen.MouseHover
picOpen.BackColor = Color.White
End Sub
I'd like to check for all colors in an image. I've already came up with this:
Code:
Dim lst As New List(Of Color)
Dim img As Bitmap = System.Drawing.Bitmap.FromFile("C:image.jpg")
For x = 0 To img.Width - 1
[code]....
Unfortunately this needs to sweep through all the pixels, and it's EXTREMELY slow... method to get all colors in an image without sweeping through all pixels?
I created a new cursor (it works properly, I tried it in windows 7) but is not working for me in the program.I took the Windows cursor (aero_helpsel_xl, from C:WindowsCursors) and it appears to me the same error.i use with this code:
Me.Cursor = New Cursor("Patch..")
The problem say:: "{"Image format is not valid. Image file may be corrupted.
Parameter name: stream "}"
edit: I realized what the problem ... It can read only cur files with 24-bit color and lower - but it shows only two colors: black and white.
I have an app that loads a jpg into a picyure box, then updates exif data in exifworks classThe problem is that when I save the image(from image used for picture box) or class (to save exif data) then try to delete, sometimes I get success, others it won't allow delet I have gone to the trouble of using gc.collect, do events, put the delete in a timer & wait for the delete before continuing & still get the problem

Credit i cant tell you as i have a bunch of different flavors of code, but this only saves the file as a tmp file, and not the actual image file i expected after selecting?

In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?
