I am trying to code something that will check if a png image is visible on your screen. So lets say the image is a purple square with yellow circles in it (random example). It will keep checking to see if the same purple square with yellow circles is on your screen. What I'm trying to say is, instead of checking for one pixel color, check to see if the actual image is on there (maybe multiple pixels?)
I have a graphics application that uses graphics paths. Code seen below. You can use keyboard characters to display information. When a label is set to visible = false after being turned on for a number of seconds a stray image is generated. The stray images are also sometimes generated when the label is first made visible.
' points p10b, p2b etc are defined elsewhere Dim GrpPoints As PointF() = {p10b, p2b, p3b, p11b, p5b, p6b, p12b} GrPath = New GraphicsPath ' 7 path points GrPath.AddBeziers(GrpPoints)
[code]....
I tried stopping the code from running when the label is set to visible = false but the stray image is still generated but just later. If you want more information let me know. The white arrows points to the stray image that is created just after a label that displayed information was set to visible = false
I'm trying to save a screen-shot from a FlowLayoutPanel without the desired success. Here's the code I'm using to same the panel as image:
vb.net Dim bmpScreenshot As Bitmap = New Bitmap(FlowLayoutPanel1.DisplayRectangle.Width, FlowLayoutPanel1.DisplayRectangle.Height, PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb) Dim gfxScreenshot As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(bmpScreenshot) gfxScreenshot.CopyFromScreen(Me.PointToScreen(SplitContainer1.Location), New Point(0, 0), FlowLayoutPanel1.Size, CopyPixelOperation.SourceCopy) bmpScreenshot.Save("C:FlowLayoutPanel1.Emf", ImageFormat.Emf)
Problem is, when the panel is full of controls and using scrollbars the hidden controls are not captured, since I'm using the CopyFromScreen().
I need to take a snapshot of a form which is not necessarily visible on the screen. I need to save that into a Bitmap object. I cannot use Graphics.CopyFromScreen() because if there was anything obstructing the form, it will appear in the snapshot taken.
After running the following code (which locks the computer), what code must I be applying to see if the user has successfully logged into the computer and that "Lock Screen" I'd so called has disappeared?
Private Declare Function LockWorkStation Lib "user32.dll" () As Long Private Function LockComputer() LockWorkStation() End Function
I will call "LockComputer", after that what do I do to see if the Lock screen so called by this function (after say 2 minutes) has disappeared or is still there asking for the password from the user.
I have a full screen button, so that when it is clicked the windows media player control will go to full screen. This works fine, however I need a way to check that the video has started to play before the button can be pressed to make it full screen.
When I call PrintForm1.Print(Me, PowerPacks.Printing.PrintForm.PrintOption.Scrollable)Only the visible portion of the screen is printed. What else do I need to dobill
I want to have an image on a form and only the image be visible. I can do this now with a square image and hide the form border and make the form the same size as the image. When i run this I get a form where only the image is visible, which is what I want, but what about odd shape image. I'm thinking of using a image of a football helmet and making a custom mp3 player. Where only the image of the helmet is visible, but I haven't been able to do that with odd shaped images.
How to get only the visible image on Picturebox the picture size is 320 x 240 and the picturebox is 240 x 240..i want to save the image in 240 x 240 pixels how?
I call .show() and .hide() on a form and then I want to determine the current state. I've been checking .visible to determine if the form is visible, but I've stumbled uppon a problem. My form is being rendered inside a SplitContainer which I collapse each time I hide the form. So, by logic once I hide the form with .hide() it is no longer visible, and since I have collapsed it's container, even if I call .show() it would still NOT be visible couse it's container is closed.
So, how can I simply check if .show() has been called rather than checking if the form is visible.
The final goal is to show() / hide() the form along with collapsing / un-collapsing the container.
P.S.: I know I could simply check the container and show the form accordingly, but my form also supports detaching from the container, so that wont work for me.
I am trying to get a picture box (that has a loading image .gif) to be visible while the program reads a text file and change visible to false when all the information in the file.txt is displayed in the textbox.
Here is my Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click PictureBox1.Visible = True If System.IO.File.Exists("C: est.txt") = True Then Dim objreader As New System.IO.StreamReader("C: est.txt") [Code] .....
I play a game and in the game you acquire skills which you can display on the screen in a box very similar to a data grid. The grid has 3 columns and X number of rows.Column 1 is the name of the skill, column 2 has a descriptive term like "Beginner" and column has the number of points you have acquired in that skill. So it would look something like this:[code]Remember that it is in a data grid so it has cells like an Excel spreed sheet. The program that I use is able to parse the skill name and the points and save that information outside the game to a n area in the program. My question is, is this possible to do something similar in VB? That is something like, Press a hot key, with will get a screen shot, parse the data and save to a data grid in my VB program.
I'm working on a Vb.net project. I have a form with a RichTextBox or a simple TextBox control. It contains hundreds of text lines, so the control has to be scrolled.
I want to send to a printer only the lines that are currently seen on the control window.
That is, I want to convert what I see into an Image and then draw that image thru e.Graphics.DrawImage.
As you can see, it could also be the case of a ListBox, a TreeView or any other scrollable control.
How can I grab that rectangle area and then convert it into an Image? The rest I already know how to do it.
I have a VB.Net project. The form has a panel and few buttons inside panel... The problem is that the background image of the panel is only visible behind buttons....but not in empty space....The app is running fine on Windows 7 but the problem comes on XP....I have tried "Enable XP Visual Styles" but no luck....When i dock a button to fill all empty space then the background image is visible....but if i remove the button ... background image is not visible....
Can i make from this image to make it Loading Screen I mean i put this in Form1 [URL] And i want when the program start the progressbar (the white line to load)
I've got an app where the user uploads an image and the app resizes the image three different ways based on different variables. They all use the same image. I can't check to see if it's done using the image so I wondered if there was a way to check to see if the file is writable. A small loop that exits once it becomes writable (or "deleteable"). Working out of VB.NET.
I send a message a while ago and no one answerd, how can I draw directly on the screen (not on a specific window) just on the screen, neither if it's on the desktop or anything else.Is there is any option to bring up the switch between applications window (Alt + Tab), I don't want to use sendkeys because the user need to keep the key down and I just want the user to select the application with his mouse.
I have a button btnRegEx that when pressed shows a ContextMenuStrip, similar to the '>' button in the Find/Replace dialog in Visual Studio when you are using Regular Expressions. I have a ContextMenuStrip cms which I show using its Show(x,y) method.
At first I was simply setting x and y (the location of the ContextMenuStrip) to some point next to the button, but I noticed that when the button is close to the edge of the screen it goes off screen. I wanted to prevent that so I built some logic into the x-y calculation. When the ContextMenuStrip width is larger than the 'remaining space left' I simply show it more to the left. Same for its Height of course. I am using the Screen.GetWorkingArea(point) method to determine the 'remaining space left'. As I understand it, it returns the working area closest to the point you specify (to which I pass the button's location).
As long as I stay on my first monitor, it is all working perfectly fine. The problem occurs when I move the form to my second monitor. The contextmenustrip is still showing on the first monitor for some reason...
Here is the code I am using:
vb.net Private Sub btnRegEx_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnRegEx.Click Dim p As Point = PointToScreen(New Point(btnRegEx.Left, btnRegEx.Top)) Dim x, y As Integer
[CODE]...
I have noticed that when I click the button when the form is on the second monitor, the buttons location (p) is calculated with the first monitor's top-left corner as (0,0), even though it is on the second monitor. This way, the GetWorkingArea function returns something like 1280, while the buttons x-location is something like 1700... So, how do I get the buttons coordinate relative to the actual screen it is on, rather than the entire dual monitor screens as a whole?
I've got a panel - that's in a group box. All of this - with lots of other textboxes on labels - is in another panel (the big panel).I make the big panel visible and not visible based on selections made by the user. This small panel - that's in the group box. I cannot seem to make it appear.Even if I leave it VISIBLE at design time - the objects in it will not appear. Is there some kind of nesting problem that I'm not aware of!
I have five menu items that i have created as a user control and placed on the master page. Now i want one of the menu items to be visible only for particular user role and not visible for others. Here is what I did. Its not working though.
I want my program to take an image of the screen every second or so acording to a timer i have the screen capture code but Im not sure on how to get the program to save the image to a directory without showing the save file dialog.[code]this is the code for putting the image in the image box if possible could i have some help so that i could go straight form this code to the save without using a separate sub for it.[code]picturebox1 is the box that the image is held in but i would prefere not to have it there and like i said before as soon as the screenshot is taken i would like it to be saved to a directory of the users choice. If possible i would like each image to be named after the time it was taken.
I'm having an odd problem when making a form visible and not visible and it not continuing to function. Here is what I have happening. I have a main form (frmMain) that is an MDIParent. On this form I have a menu to open a second form (frmCalculate) and populate a listview from Items in the database.
As I click or select items in the listview on frmCalculate the tag is read and data is pulled based on the id stored in that tag and fills in various fields on the form. This works great. However, I also have a context menu attached to the listview that allows me to perform a "what if" scenerio on the items I am calculating. When I select this menu, I hide the frmCalculate and open the frmWhatIf form where I can mess around with values on the item I had hilighted in the listview on frmCalculate. Nothing is pulled from or written back to the database here, all the information is filled in from fields on frmCalculate. It just allows me to look at rising costs and how they will affect my margins.... anyway.
If I then close frmWhatIf, it brings my frmCalculate back by setting its visible propery to true (never closed frmCalculate, just hid it). At this point if I click an item in the listview I get an exception for a null reference. IF however I never hide frmCalculate, I can open and close frmWhatIF without ever having an issue. Why do I lose the functionality to select items just by hiding and unhiding the form? As a test I added two menus to the toolbar on frmMain one called hide and one called show. I then opened frmCalculate with original menu item to populate the listview and selected a few items to test that it was working and then using the hide menu I made the form invisible and the show button to bring it back. This yielded the same exception so without even opening frmWhatIf the problem still occurs.
