View 5 RepliesI'm using PrintForm which comes with PowerPack to print a form with a couple of Labels into it.But the letters appear a little blur and not clear at all, bad quality, I tried by increasing the size of the labels but the result was the same.Under the PrintForm parameters I only found one that could be relevant, the papersize but that doesn't helped too.
View 5 RepliesI am creating a program that I would like to distribute. I am using printform in VB 2008 to print my form. My form is the size of my computer screen...15 in. If the program is run on a different computer with a different screen size, will it affect the appearance of the form on the screen or the printing of the form? If the form is run on a laptop, for example, with a smaller screen, will it cut off my form and thus cut off the form during printing? Will a bigger screen increase the size of the form and not allow it to fit correctly when printed? I was just curious and wondering.

View 14 RepliesI need to take a snapshot of a form which is not necessarily visible on the screen. I need to save that into a Bitmap object. I cannot use Graphics.CopyFromScreen() because if there was anything obstructing the form, it will appear in the snapshot taken.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to code something that will check if a png image is visible on your screen. So lets say the image is a purple square with yellow circles in it (random example). It will keep checking to see if the same purple square with yellow circles is on your screen. What I'm trying to say is, instead of checking for one pixel color, check to see if the actual image is on there (maybe multiple pixels?)

I'm working on Visual Studio 2010 and I have a Visual Basic 2010 Windows Application. I have a DataSet and in my form i want to give the user the option to "filter" the data he sees on the screen. So, for example, I have:
"Choose Bank Name" - TextBox1
"Choose Car Type" - TextBox2
"Choose Agent" - TextBox3
And so on (9 text boxes more)
Now, the user can filer the bank name and agent only, but he can leave them blank and I want the app to generate an SQL Statement and to change the dataset in real time. I know how to generate the SQL Statement, but i don't know how to change the data set sql string in real time.
I've got a panel - that's in a group box. All of this - with lots of other textboxes on labels - is in another panel (the big panel).I make the big panel visible and not visible based on selections made by the user.This small panel - that's in the group box. I cannot seem to make it appear.Even if I leave it VISIBLE at design time - the objects in it will not appear.Is there some kind of nesting problem that I'm not aware of!

I'm having an odd problem when making a form visible and not visible and it not continuing to function. Here is what I have happening. I have a main form (frmMain) that is an MDIParent. On this form I have a menu to open a second form (frmCalculate) and populate a listview from Items in the database.
As I click or select items in the listview on frmCalculate the tag is read and data is pulled based on the id stored in that tag and fills in various fields on the form. This works great. However, I also have a context menu attached to the listview that allows me to perform a "what if" scenerio on the items I am calculating. When I select this menu, I hide the frmCalculate and open the frmWhatIf form where I can mess around with values on the item I had hilighted in the listview on frmCalculate. Nothing is pulled from or written back to the database here, all the information is filled in from fields on frmCalculate. It just allows me to look at rising costs and how they will affect my margins.... anyway.
If I then close frmWhatIf, it brings my frmCalculate back by setting its visible propery to true (never closed frmCalculate, just hid it). At this point if I click an item in the listview I get an exception for a null reference. IF however I never hide frmCalculate, I can open and close frmWhatIF without ever having an issue. Why do I lose the functionality to select items just by hiding and unhiding the form? As a test I added two menus to the toolbar on frmMain one called hide and one called show. I then opened frmCalculate with original menu item to populate the listview and selected a few items to test that it was working and then using the hide menu I made the form invisible and the show button to bring it back. This yielded the same exception so without even opening frmWhatIf the problem still occurs.
I'm have a program filled with forms for the user to enter data to determine fluid and reservoir properties. I want the ability to be able to print out the forms so they may be kept in binders. I'm using the PrintForm function from the Visual Basic PowerPacks but I'm having a problem getting some of the larger forms onto a single page. Is there anyway to zoom or autofit using this function? I've already tried adjusting the margins and that is not enough. I've been trying to look through the object browser but it hasn't worked very well yet.

this does print out fine but i now need to select a printer before it actually prints out. How can i do this?
BTW this issue occurs in any MS office program when the VB.Net (or even VBA) is processing information.Example: In Excel, a worksheet is displayed on the screen. I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps.Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?

the combo box style 1 has both the drop down option but also a manual entry option. I need to know how to code it so that when you manually enter data, it takes that data and places it in a text message "The shipping charges for "data" is $15" displaying in a text box. View 9 RepliesI have created a windows application and it was working fine, then I added in the printform component from PowerPack3 and here the error starts. The application works fine on the computer I wrote it on, but when I move the exe over to another computer (which I have installed PP3 and the .net framework) I get an error. The only difference between the computer I am writing it on and trying to run it on, is that this computer has vb.net 2010 express edition installed. What do I need to do from here to get this working?

I'm tired of having my dropdownmenu come up in my printpreview and print, so I've decided to use a timer and a progress bar to wait a few seconds before the print or printpreview is started.[code]The problem I have is when I go to print or printpreview, it will work but the program stops debugging and tells me that the form has to be focused. I have a listbox that prints 2 different values each line. The first one is String and the second one is an Integer, (although I've converted it to String). How do I extract the first String value? One is suposed to be able to mark one line, and remove the selected lines values from 2 different arrays, and for that I need the String value.

Document1 is 3 pages long. When print preview comes up, it shows all 3 pages like it should. However, when I push the print icon on the print preview form it only prints the last page.
I have tried to create an amortization program The issue that I am having is that the program wants to print the same page over and over again. The first page of the printout runs through the "While loop" appropriately, but when the second page starts printing, it repeats the information that is on the first page. This is true of all subsequent pages I have included the printing portion of the code.
