Convert Visible RichTextBox Area Into Image Object?
Aug 12, 2009
I'm working on a Vb.net project. I have a form with a RichTextBox or a simple TextBox control. It contains hundreds of text lines, so the control has to be scrolled.
I want to send to a printer only the lines that are currently seen on the control window.
That is, I want to convert what I see into an Image and then draw that image thru e.Graphics.DrawImage.
As you can see, it could also be the case of a ListBox, a TreeView or any other scrollable control.
How can I grab that rectangle area and then convert it into an Image? The rest I already know how to do it.
i have a datagridview which am display some data and i have also cell formating event which according to that data that are populate am changing the row format and one of my columns are of type image and am load an image depending on the row values.day by day the data in are become larger and when am trying to load that data to the datagridview is taking much time in order to display that data to the user.
1st ,when the event of cell formating is fired, is fired only for the visible area of datagridview rows? or is making changes for all the rows in the datagridview.
2nd , is there any way to load only data that are visible in the datagridview area and when the user scrolls down or up to query also the rest?
I'm making a project that has a bunch of different types of calculators in the same tab within a tab control. To organize these calculators, I put each one in a groupbox, there are about 5 or 6 in all. When I was finished designing all of them, I placed all the groupboxes in the spot they needed to be, but once I started creating the events for them to be visible or not visible there are a bunch that don't show up. I think it has to do with the fact that VB thinks that the groupbox is part of another groupbox that isn't visible so it doesn't show.
How can I go about only showing a single calculator at once in my tab?
I am working on a spreadsheet-like custom control, manually painting all cells according to its bounds and indexes. All is working fine until I populate it to upto a hundred rows (with fixed 6 columns). Basically my sheet expands itself to fit all cells, so to use it properly on a form, I use a panel with autoscroll = true and with my sheet inside. The problem is, the control flickers a lot, which I think is caused by painting ALL of the cells. Is there a way to paint only the visible area.?? So when I scroll down, the control would paint only the visible cells on that area. What I am thinking right now is to not put it in a container, but rather, put a scrollbar in my control. Then that scrollbar would then handle the setting of visible cells, and then my paint event would only paint that visible cells. I am using VB btw, .NET 3.5.. I cant put the code in here cause its separated in different classes(Cell, CellCollection, Rows, Columns, Range, Worksheet, etc.)
i have table that has column of type "Image" in my DB. in BLL datarow[5] will fetch Image in that column. according to intellissense this returns an object. In my BLL i've assigned this to class member image of type object. then i return an object of the class .
In my front end i have a DataGridView control i'v asigned the return object from the BLL to DataGridView control. In the Image column it display as System,.Byte[ ]... how can i make the DataGridView control display this image?
I want to create a dial which is basically a circle that I can drag around in a circular motion. Ive looked at using the code in an earlier post which allows you to drag items around a screen but I cant figure out how to confine the movement so it only allows the user to drag this circle around in a circular motion. Any coordinate altering I do just looks snappy.
I want to have an image on a form and only the image be visible. I can do this now with a square image and hide the form border and make the form the same size as the image. When i run this I get a form where only the image is visible, which is what I want, but what about odd shape image. I'm thinking of using a image of a football helmet and making a custom mp3 player. Where only the image of the helmet is visible, but I haven't been able to do that with odd shaped images.
I'm working on a small project for the fun of it. One of my hobbies is astro-imaging and I take pictures of planets, nebulae gallaxies etc . One of the more challenging targets is the International Space Station. I have had some success with the ISS by manually aiming my telescope as the Station moves across the sky.
What I am trying to achieve is to write a program that will lock onto the brightest area of a webcam image. If the brightest area (which will be the ISS) is off center, then commands are sent to the telescope to recenter it.
So far I have been able to write code that talks with the scope, and I have been able to get a webcam stream to show on a Form.
So the last piece of the puzzle (well I am sure there will be other things that have to be worked out) is to identify the brightest area of the image. I am scratching my head as to how I should accomplish this.
I'm thinking I should dump pixel information into an array maybe, and establish which line and column has the brightest average values (I could then draw a cross hair over the image).
i am new to vb. i have created a program which has work areas/image areas. i can create as many as i like and i have created a code to delete a work area. but i cant delete more than one and i cant find out how to fix the problem i will post my code so you can see what i have out so far,
I need to load a picture and save some areas into a database (like you do it on Facebook when tag peopple into pictures).I need to save de selected area and then, in another form, show the picture and the selected areas in blue?
I have a form that allows me to drag and drop pictures but I want it to check if the object is in the correct location
*curpic = the current picture that has been selected If curpic.location.X > bx1.Location.X And curpic.location.Y > bx1.Location.Y Then If curpic.location.X < bx1.Location.X + bx1.Width And curpic.location.Y < bx1.Location.Y +
i have a program with the ability to save view and scan images. i am currently working on making work area's. so i have two list box's. listbox one is for the image area name. listbox2 is to list the pages in selected image area (mouse click). i have created the form to show you and i will post a link below. i have started trying to do it but have got stuck. i use an input box to give the image area's names. but thats as far as i have got at the min.
i need to be able to make image area's and list/view the images in my picturebox. plus i would like to create a folder or how ever many the user makes behind the scene thats called whatever the image area is called and in that folder is the images the user has saved in that folder. sorry if this is hard to understand. i have asked on another forum but i didnt get what i wanted it to do.

i have gave you a link so you can see what my form looks like so you have a slight understanding on what i want it to do. its work in progress so sorry if it looks rubbish.
by the way i can save an image but it only saves it one certaint place and i cant save more thasn one as it replaces the image. and as for the scanned image thats the same.
Is it possible to scan the pixels in webbrowser for an image that was loaded into my resources and then click on it? What I want to do:Have a reference image in resources Scan webbrowser1's PIXELS to see if it appears on the current page,Then if it does, Click somewhere in the region of the image.I do NOT want to search for a .jpg .png .gif .bmp etc. in the webbrowser.
i am trying to draw a iamge in an mspaint control, and then put that image into a richtextbox but it will ask for save file and file has been saved i want to show image in richtextbox as soon as click on save file in dialog window.
How to get only the visible image on Picturebox the picture size is 320 x 240 and the picturebox is 240 x 240..i want to save the image in 240 x 240 pixels how?
I am trying to get a picture box (that has a loading image .gif) to be visible while the program reads a text file and change visible to false when all the information in the file.txt is displayed in the textbox.
Here is my Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click PictureBox1.Visible = True If System.IO.File.Exists("C: est.txt") = True Then Dim objreader As New System.IO.StreamReader("C: est.txt") [Code] .....
I am trying to make a customer class that will simply make a bunch of controls (hotspots) Visible value = False.
For instance: WinStartSpot.visible = False
Thing is I have roughly 60 "spots" that need to be turned on and off as the user clicks through the program (its a very simple OS simulator) I tried to make a class using boolean return but that failed miserably. how to code a class like that?
I am using the following code to place a rectangle around a form / form control, however what I want to do is make my screen grey and only the form / form control area be displayed in colour.
Code:
I have googled for ages trying to find something on this, but with no luck.
To illistrate this better they are using the same functionality in snagit 10, please see below link to a page that has a video link showing this (23 sec into video)[url]
I am trying to code something that will check if a png image is visible on your screen. So lets say the image is a purple square with yellow circles in it (random example). It will keep checking to see if the same purple square with yellow circles is on your screen. What I'm trying to say is, instead of checking for one pixel color, check to see if the actual image is on there (maybe multiple pixels?)
I tried to create a lineshape and make it visible when a timer ticks. Also tried to set everything that would matter when creating it(border colors and thickness etc)
But still, I got no results.
Code: Dim line = New Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.LineShape(CX, CY, ccx, ccy) line.Parent = New Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.ShapeContainer() line.Enabled = True
The problem with the following code is that the object oWB is visible and initialized in Form2, but when I show SaveDialog1, the object gives a NullReferenceException. I already know, because I checked in the debugger, that oWB has a valid reference when I leave Form2 and also when I come back from Form2. So I am sure the problem is that the reference simply is not visible in SaveDialog1 for some reason. So please don't tell me that the initialization of oWB returned a Nothing reference because I know it did not.
I get a NullReferenceException on the following line:
Form2.oWB.Save()
I researched this for a whole day and came up with a Microsoft article that explains that it is necessary to run each form of a .NET COM application on its own thread. It gave some code to accomplish this. I incorporated this code into my program. But I still have the NullReferenceException.
