Constructing Function In SOAP Web Service To Receive An Array
Aug 4, 2011
I have a specific problem that I have not yet found an answer to. Basically I need to pass a list of numbers into a function do some math and return them. I can pass one number at a time without a problem, however when I want to pass in an array I start to have issues. My VB.net code looks like this...
I'm using a web service programmed in Visual Basic .NET 3.5 to receive a JSON Array sent from other application.
I'm sending a JSON string like this one: [{"idRecoleccion":1,"PIN":"553648138"},{"idRecoleccion":2,"PIN":"553648138"}] And I'm receiving the code in Visual Basic .NET as follows:
I am new to the wcf services and soap. Kindly give me an example or demo how to generate a soap request and response using wcf services. I need to use VB.net for this.
I have created a WCF VB.Net Soap service. The service compiles and runs, but at runtime, only half of the variables passed to the function via a soap request are received.
I'm building a .NET component that will call an external web service. I used the "Add Service Reference" dialog to add the web service to my component, which generates the code needed to consume the service and adds the settings to the app.config file.I'm testing the component by adding a reference to its DLL from a Console application and calling the appropriate method that creates a new instance of the web service: ... = new MyServiceSoapClient(). However, when I do this, I get the following exception:
InvalidOperationException
Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'MyServicesSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element. This makes sense since the app.config isn't being brought over with the component's DLL. How can I call the web service without having to rely on the settings in the App.Config?
I have to set GridView.DataKeyNames(This is really a question about the syntax for a string array, in VB.Net.)I am discovering the PrimaryKey columns names from within a loop, ie:For Each fld As IEntityField In Me.llbDataSource.EntityCollection(0).PrimaryKeyFields'fld.Name ' this is where the column name is stored, so I have to get this into an array Next..[code]So, basically, how does one declare a string array (as required by GridView.DataKeyNames), and then populate the elements of the array from within a loop?
I need to query a web service that basic authentication, putting the username and password in the request header. My client is written in VB.NET Visual Basic Express Edition 2010. I've added the web service to the Service References. It has auto-generated the appropriate classes for me. [code]...
I'm currently working on a VB. Net web service calling another web service running in the mainframe. I was provided with the WSDL file and I generated a proxy class using wsdl.exe. Upon attempting to invoke the method of the mainframe web service using the proxy class, I encountered an exception saying "Conversion from SOAP failed" coming from a line of code in the generated proxy class.
I wrote a soap service in PHP using nusoap. It works fine with the test client I wrote in PHP, however, our customer wrote his client in vb.net and it is not working. There are no errors that I see, but the service is not parsing his requests properly.
I am letting nusoap generate the WSDL, and it looks fine. If I compare a message that I send in to one of his messages, I do see a few differences in the envelope, but I'm not sure if the problem is on my end or his.
I have written a windows service that uses sockets to send receive data, it works fine when the server has been running and all other services have started, but after a reboot it does not work. Now I know its probably dependant on another service and I know how to add dependencies, but how do I work out which services its dependent on?
I have the following function below, which works fine if you want to Extract a zip file. But, I have a problem, lets take an example, test.zip , which will have a folder within called Download which has txt files. Therefore, when I unzip I receive the Download folder with the files in it. Now, instead I want to unzip the zip folder to create a Test folder and within the Test folder the Download folder which will have all the text files. The function I have does ONLY the Download folder and not the test folder.
Private Sub unzip(ByVal filename As String, ByVal targetdir As String, ByVal overwrite As Boolean, Optional ByVal password As String = "") Dim inputStrm As New ZipInputStream(File.OpenRead(filename)) inputStrm.Password = password Dim nextEntry As ZipEntry = inputStrm.GetNextEntry() [Code] .....
I have a class called Car. Car has a bunch of properties i.e. Car.Color. CarService has a method called GetCars(). Within GetCar, I have a loop that appends a List of, you guessed it.. Cars.[code].....
I get: Value of type '1-dimensional array of Namespace.Car' cannot be converted to 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of Namespace.Car)'. What would be the best way to convert this 1-dimensional array' back into a List of Cars?
constructing a waveform in vb.net. Can maybe someone give me a hint of how to make one? (a bit of code would be nice) I already know that to generate a waveform, you need a timer, if there anything else?
I want to have a "template" function that can receive different parameter and a type parameter, like:[code]But Vb told me that tupeList is not defined... is there a way I can do that?
I've been working in .NET for some time now, but occasionally I still get confused by a disparity between the framework and my prior experience in C++.In .NET, all objects are either value types or reference types. Reference types are allocated on the heap while value types are allocated on the stack (in the current CLR implementation, anyway). I get that. However, at least in VB.NET, you can still define a constructor on a value type.
Public Structure Coordinates Public x As Integer Public y As Integer
I'm not entirely sure what to call what C# does, so I haven't had any luck searching for the VB.Net equivalent syntax (if it exists, which I suspect it probably doesn't).
In c#, you can do this: public void DoSomething() { new MyHelper().DoIt(); // works just fine }
But as far as I can tell, in VB.Net, you must assign the helper object to a local variable or you just get a syntax error:
Public Sub DoSomething() New MyHelper().DoIt() ' won't compile End Sub
Just one of those curiosity things I run into from day to day working on mixed language projects - often there is a VB.Net equivalent which uses less than obvious syntax. Anyone?
I've used VB.net for several years now, but keep coming across little quirks that I don't know how to work around. Curiosity finally got the best of me, so I ask now: is there a way to create an object without assigning it?For example, say I have an Engine class, that I want to instantiate and have it immediately do whatever it needs to do. If there's nothing I need to do with Engine after creating it, I have, till now, done something like:dim myEngine as new Engine()Is there a way to avoid the "dim myEngine as" part? You certainly can in Java. I could just create an object with "new Engine()" in java and not assign it to anything.
Why do I need this? Because often I want to create a delegate object (hence I called it "engine") that performs some functionality, but otherwise I don't need to ever reference it. I used to have such objects have a "public sub perform", but have found that cumbersome -- I'd rather just create the object and not worry about remembering to call its perform method. And I find it aesthetically displeasing to create references to objects that I don't intend to use
I have a WCF Service Function that Returns a typed dataset. How can I return an error or message to the client?Public Function ReturnMyDS(Byval Identity as Integer) as dsMyDataSet Implements Iservice.ReturnMyDS
Try Return = RetrievemyDataset Catch ex as exception
I am creating a dll with all the functions and subroutines that I use all the time and I decided to create a function that I can pass different types of array to so the function obviously (or not) would have an array of type object. Now I no you can pass any type into an object type but when I pass an integer array into an object array I get an error.
value of type '1-dimensional array of integer' cannot be converted to '1-dimensional array of object' because 'integer' is not a reference type.
Shared Function CompareArray(ByVal FirstArray() As Object, ByVal SecondArray() As Object, Optional ByRef ErrorMessage As String = "") As Boolean Dim IntArrayOne() As Integer = {1,2,3,4,5} Dim IntArrayTwo() As Integer = {1,2,3,5,6} Dim IsSame As Boolean = False IsSame = CompareArray(IntArrayOne(), IntArrayTwo())
I have a windows app that references a web service I created. In the web service, I created a function that needed to return more than one value. Because of this, I created a public structure in the web service: Public Structure MyRecordSet Public lstOfDataInRecord As List(Of String) Public iNumberOfRecords As Integer End Structure
Here's the function - the return value is MyNewRecordSet: Dim MyNewRecordSet As MyRecordSet <WebMethod()> _ Public Function GetDataReturnList(ByVal sql As String, ByVal sTableName As String) As MyRecordSet MyNewRecordSet.lstOfDataInRecord = New List(Of String) [Code] ..... Anyway, I see it's a conversion issue, but not sure how to resolve it. This is my first attempt to use a public structure in a web service and receive a return on it from my app.
For a small project I need the possibility to "trigger" a function in a Window-form-application from a Service. So there are 2 program's. One is the visible Form application with textboxes and buttons and so on... The other is a sort of service program that runs on the Windows Service account.
Actually the second program is a command-line tool that gets fired by a PHP script from the Apache server. Because the command-line tool runs in another "environment" then the Windows-form-App, it is NOT possible to communicate (trigger) with both apps.
I know I have to use IPC (InterProcess Communication) and I have download the dozens of sample apps, but I still can't get it to work.
PLEASE can someone give me some sample code, or perhaps sample program(s) to help me out?
I think it's really easy to build what I want, but for me it's a no-go :-(
So for example it has to work like this:
PHP script (running at Apache server) runs a "console/service" app (already working) which "triggers" (via IPC) a already running Windows-Form-app (also already working app) that for example shows a MsgBox with the text in it that is sended by the "console/service" app.
This same (Identical ) code works well in another program but does not in windows service... Returns 0 for window handle ...?
Public WindowStr As String = "ImagSrvWindow" Protected Overrides Sub OnStart(ByVal args() As String) 'necessary to get control to paint Pic&Txt boxes in stream of Browser navs
I am constructing a search function in a class to be used by several of our asp pages. The idea is simple, take a search term from the user and query the database for the item. Currently I am doing this the wrong way, which is vulnerable to SQL injection attacks (and ELMAH is in there to save the day if something goes wrong):
[Code]...
The problem is since I am using a like statement, I need to be able to have % on either side of the search word, and I can't seem to do that with '%:searchterm%', it just gives an error of ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number.Can I parameterize but still have my flexible like statement be a part of it?
