I am trying to copy from a DataGridView and paste into a new Outlook email. Everything is working fine, but I was wondering if there was a way to include the gridlines from the DataGridView when copying? Right now, I'm pasting the data from the DataGridView using the dgv.GetText property. It is pasting the copied text, but is not lined up at all.
View 3 RepliesBy default, the background of a DataGridView is a solid color. The gridlines stop at the end of the grid of actual data leaving an ugly void in the remaining space of the DataGridView. A perfect example of what I want is the gridlines viewed in Microsoft Excel.How can I continue the gridlines past the datagrid itself to fill the DataGridView?

View 4 RepliesI was doing some refreshing on my VB.NET skills by working on a little project for a friend of mine. This program loads class information from a database on her college classes and is going to allow her to select classes to add and create her schedule for the next year. We are displaying the data in datagridviews. What I am currently having trouble with is getting the data from the one classDataGridView to transfer over to scheduleDataGridView. I am able to copy the selected data to a variable, my only problem is then getting to assign that variable in to a cell in the 2nd datagridview.Here is my current code for copying and transferring the data, it is being accessed in a button_click event.

View 9 RepliesIs there a way to change the color of the listview gridlines (black would be nice)? I have Gridlines = True, but the color is so faint that they cannot be seen (for example on Win XP with the default Blue theme). You can only see them on a highlighted item. (If I change the backcolor of the LV to a funky color, I can see them, but I want to keep the default color of "Window" (white when Win XP default them is used).

I brought up a new project in Visual Studio 2010 and found that there are no gridlines on the form. I went to Tools, Options, Windows Form Designer, General and found the Show Gridlines option set to True. I tried turning it to false and back to true with no change.

THe program has a list of "jobs" in a datagrid that it loops through and executes in sequence. What i have now is a background worker that reports the status of which job it is on (File 1 of 5) but i would like something that shows the status of the current copying file as sometimes large files can look like it's stopped on the network
I am using the System.io.file.copy structure, but have also tried the my.computer.filesystem.copyfile (which shows the status in a "windows" copy box)
So, what i would like is some guidance on how to create a function that will copy the file but also report back progress periodicly. I don't want to read and write byte for byte as im worried this will be too slow.
Also, is there a better way/function to use to copy files? Looking for best speed

View 8 RepliesI have a DataGridView which lists the paths of a group of files, pptx, xlxs, etc. From a context menu they can copy the name of the file onto the clipboard, or delete the file or rename the file, but I would like to be able to actually attach the file itself to the clipboard so it could be pasted as an attachment to an email or something like that. How do I get the file itself onto the clipboard when I only have the path to it?
View 5 RepliesI have added two images as a resource in my project. I'd need to copy these images to a certain folder when the program is started. I'm not familiar about using resources, so far I have managed to set a picturebox to show one of these images like this:

I am trying to copy a treeview control from one form to another. To do this I wrote the following

However this code moves the treeview from one form to another, it does not copy (or clone) the control.
I am using Visual studio 2008.I have an application that reformats an excel spreadsheet. One of the operations is to copy the contents of the cells from the source to the target sheet. One of the columns has numbers. In excel, if the column is not wide enough, it will display the numbers as "###". For instance, if i have a number 99 and the column is not wide enough, it displays "#" in that cell. The problem is that when I copy this cell to my target sheet, I get "#" and not 99.

My problem is, when I am copying or moving a large file, It's taking so much time and my program is hanging until all the files are completely moved or copied. How about, using a progressbar instead, so that the user will be able to see the progress of copying and moving instead of the program freezing?
I have some textboxes that I need to get data to on another tab, everything works beautifully until I get to one and that is where the client ID has to be filled oin to that textbox. I have a chkBox that will verify the data that is suppose to be put over intothe tabbed page and if I check it, it will put the data into the textbox. Yet if I leave it unchecked the data does not get copied.
