I am trying to copy a treeview control from one form to another. To do this I wrote the following

However this code moves the treeview from one form to another, it does not copy (or clone) the control.
quick question, i have two treeviews and what i want to do is be able to click on a node in one and have it added to the other. This code doesn't error but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. am i missing something wrong?

I have a problems with my application..
1. collapse and expand treeview when i click plus sign (+) on treeview, treeview didn't expand subfolder but when i click image, treeview expand it.
2. showing path that i check on treeview when i check the treeview then i'm click the button, then return path that i check

So my final goal is to take some columns from one form's datagridview (in form3) and place them into a seperate form's datagridview (form4). I started off by just trying to put all of the rows in there one-by-one. Later I will be moe picky about which rows I want. Below is the code I am using. View 3 RepliesI have a form that I am creating to document information about computers that I build. I have created the basic layout, what I have is a group box that has many different controls in it (text boxes, combo boxes, additional group boxes etc) What I want to be able to do is have a button that will copy the group box (computer information) and all of its contents and then paste it below the first group box with all of the fields blank or in their default setting; and keep doing this for as many computers as I want to add. Each project I do has a different amount of computers on it so I want this form to be able to handle any amount of computers.
I can't seem to find much on what I want to do, any pointers, direction or idea's
I was able to do this with an excel spreadsheet but all I had to do was reference and select a cell range, scroll down and paste the new section in. This is my code from excell, just as an example of what I did then. But with VB I'm stumped on how to approach this.

I am using vb.net 2008 i have been using a mdi form which is the startup form for my prog. and i have a main menu on that form. now i would like to shift to tree view as my client has asked for it. whenever a node is selected i can select the form corresponding for that particular code. everything is fine till here. but when the form is loaded the tree view is coming on top of the form the tree view is docked in a pannel. now i have tried everything treemenu.sendtoback and the say the form to b called is taxtypemaster then taxtypemaster.bringtofront but still the tree view is coming over the form

Even the visible doesnt work as it seems after the .show it makes the tree view visible again. how do i hide the treeview pls. someone guide me at the earliest. i feel it is not the prob. of treeview but something to do with the mdi form am i right ?
I am looking for an advice how to do a drag and drop copying an object anywhere on the form and also move an object around and place it where the user wants. Is that possible? Kind of something what we have in the designer of Visual Studio, we can drag and drop a label or a textbox down on the form.

View 4 RepliesI am attempting to show a specific form using a treeview control, the nodes of which have their tag value set to an instance of the Form I need to show. The code I have in the DoubleClick event works great for the first time I show a form, but after that I get an object disposed exception. As you can see, I tried handling it by resetting the tag, but that didn't work. Is there any way I can show the form more than once without going through a switch statement anytime the exception comes up and resetting the tag to the right type of form? I'd like something nicer looking like the way I show the form.

I am busy with trying to convert data from an application so that it can be shown in HTML form via websites. I need to make a tree wherein I have 3 main categories each with their own sub-categories. These are the categories/sub-categories.

All the information what I found is related to a website design, but I'm working on a database program (sql2005), where I'd like the user to see the structure what he/she make up with a TreeView like control. I created a VBA project in Excel. I would like to figure out how to transfer the data back in forth to make a more presentable and user-friendly program in VB Studio.Basically, I need my form in VB to input data to into an excel �workbook.data�, where the calculations are preformed. Then I need to copy the finished excel data cells �workbook.results� and paste them into an end result form in VB. I have tried looking at threads and cannot come up with a solution. There is no data saved each time the program runs, so I don't have a database.

When deleting multiple files a confirmation message box pops up for each file selected. I would like to have it come up once and ask 'Are you sure you want to send these 'x' files to the recycle bin?' where 'x' is the number of files selected.
i have a treeview say TV1 and another Treeview Say TV2.. Now TV1 Contains all nodes for user rights. and i want to add to tv2 only selected nodes.Like TV1 is

what i want is that when i select Level3 Node it should chek TV2 for the parent of this node. if parent exist it should add the node under the same parent. if parent does not exist it should check for Level 1 Node and if it exist it should add Level 2 Node and then Level 3 Node. Otherwise it should add Level 1 , Level 2 and then Level 3 Nodes in order.
I have a class, let's call MyClass. In this class, I have a TreeView property let's call myTreeView..In my code, I populate the Nodes of this TreeView so I can use it later on.Then, when it's time to actualy use it, I haven't been able to take all the nodes from myClass and put them in a Tree View Control on my form.[code]The weird thing is that when debugging, the TreeView in MyClass is well populated with the proper values and in the loop, newNode isn't empty, there's actually something but for some reason it's not showing anything.

View 4 RepliesI am busy writing a application that i can set up a list of files to copy from one location to a remote network drive.
THe program has a list of "jobs" in a datagrid that it loops through and executes in sequence. What i have now is a background worker that reports the status of which job it is on (File 1 of 5) but i would like something that shows the status of the current copying file as sometimes large files can look like it's stopped on the network
I am using the System.io.file.copy structure, but have also tried the my.computer.filesystem.copyfile (which shows the status in a "windows" copy box)
So, what i would like is some guidance on how to create a function that will copy the file but also report back progress periodicly. I don't want to read and write byte for byte as im worried this will be too slow.
Also, is there a better way/function to use to copy files? Looking for best speed
