Form With A Treeview And A Listview - When Deleting Multiple Files A Confirmation Message Box Pops Up For Each File Selected
Oct 27, 2009
I have a form with a treeview and a listview. The treeview lists the folders on your system and listview shows the files in the selected folder, similar to windows explorer. I have a delete button for deleting files.
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To lv1.SelectedItems.Count - 1
Dim csi As CShItem = lv1.SelectedItems(i).Tag
[CODE]...
When deleting multiple files a confirmation message box pops up for each file selected. I would like to have it come up once and ask 'Are you sure you want to send these 'x' files to the recycle bin?' where 'x' is the number of files selected.

I have an ini File which I use as an "index" of jar files. The Jars are declared in it like: Name of the jar=c:Path So when my application starts, the ini file gets loaded in a list view. I have a delete button, with which I want to delete the jars from the list view and the ini file. It must be possible to delete multi choiced jar references. so I thought to do it with for each, so that every selected item get searched in the ini and deleted. The Error is, that the String (is correct, I tested it with a messagebox) get analysed - Unknown escape sequence R (The error is between the ** **)
My Code: Private Sub jarDelete_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles jarDelete.Click If Me.ListView1.SelectedItems.Count > 0 Then For Each item As ListViewItem In ListView1.SelectedItems ListView1.Items.Remove(item) Dim GanzeZeile As String = ListView1.SelectedItems.ToString [Code] ......

I have a datagridview named dgvInventory. Okay when you have data inside your datagridview all you have to do is push the delete button on your keyboard and it automatically deletes the record. However, I want a popup box that says "Are you sure you want to delete this record?", and if yes is clicked then the item will be deleted, if not then the record stays the same.
I have two listview in a separate form, basically what i want to do is whenever I select a row in my first listview the items in that selected row will be copied in my second listview which is empty.
I have been playing with, and researching, this all day and can't figure it out. I have a Windows Explorer style form with a TreeView and a ListView. I've populated the TreeView with directories and when a node is selected, the ListView fills with the contents of the directory associated with that node. No problem there, but I want to be able to select a directory in the ListView and automatically select the associated node in the TreeView, just like it works in Windows Explorer. All the information I've found online tells me how to populate the ListView from the TreeView, but I haven't found any good examples of how to populate the TreeView from the ListView.
I have now got a DataGridView on a form with a toolstrip which automatically created for me when I dragged the DataGridView from the DataSources on the Solution explorer window. I now would like to know how can I have a pop out window saying " Are you sure you would like to delete xxx?" with a OK button and Cancel button.
I need to create a message box that pops up and says "I am looping, do you want me to continue" with a Yes or No option. If user answers "Yes", I need to continue the loop with another message box with the same question. If the user answers "No", stop the loop.
I have tried this over and over and I get it to the point where if I click "NO" the first time, the message box goes away. but if I click "yes" the first time, no matter how many times I click "NO", the message box will not go away.
This is What I have....
Dim intResult As Integer intResult = MessageBox.Show("I am Looping. Do you want me to continue?", "Loop", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo)
I have a list of 100 assets that are pulled from AS400 and shown on a gridview alongside a dropdown box with 6 possible status and a textbox.
If the user selects a status other than "Found" (whether it's "Not Found", "Scrapped", "Sold", "Transferred","Other"), the user cannot leave the textbox empty. They must insert a comment into the textbox. Once the user is done he clicks "Save" and if, let's say, the status is "Sold" and the textbox is empty for all assets then a Message Box pops up saying "Please fill the textbox".
The problem is, the message box pops up 100 times (or once for every asset that has the error).
1) What can I do so that the message box only appears once even when 100 assets have the error?
2) Also, when the message box appears and I click "OK" the information the user had filled up to that point gets erased.
SAVE CLICK EVENT
Protected Sub Save_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Grabar.Click Dim comando As String = ""

I'm having a treeview loaded with all the files and subfolders of a path. Each node is getting the filepath as tag. Once I have dragged a node (file/folder) I need to move the file(s)/(sub)folder to the new directory. Each file(s)/(sub)folder needs to get a new tag
I'm trying to add an explorer form with a listview and treeview. My problem is when i select a node on the treeview.I want its child nodes to appear on the listview. They must appear with the images i have in the treeview as well.

Then clicks the delete button to remove the files.I have everything finished and working excpet for deleting the actual file. I figured out the code to delete the actual list item... but I cannot figure out how to get the selected file to be deleted within its directory as well... been at it for 4 hours now.
I need to be able to search through a text file and find a line of text, then delete that line and the 7 previous lines and also the line following the searched line. Basically the program creates student records to a text file and asks if the user wants to mark the record for deletion then when the user exits the program, I want it to find the records mark for deletion and delete them. The records in the text file look like this:
Name: Some, Students, Name Age: 20 Phone Number: (555) 555-5555

Below (Example 2) is working code for populating a treeview with directories only down to 1 level. Note just directores are added- No files. I want to add a Listview control beside my treeview and have the Listview populated with the "files" from the selected node in the treeview. This would fire off the NodeMouseClick event of the treeView. I have used Example 1 (NodeMouseClick) before with other code that I have. However, I cannot get the code to work with the Example 2 code below
how to change the Example 1 code to work with Example 2?
Example 1 '************************************************ Private Sub treeView1_NodeMouseClick(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal e As TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs) _
To grab a specific file from a specified directory, read the lines and display them in a text box. What I want to do, is search for multiple text files in a specified directory, display each name in a Listview and, as I click on them, their info is displayed in the text box below.
I know this is out there and probably illogical but I was wondering if it was possible to take multiple picture files and compact them into one file.... and then retrieve them from the program later? Way to combine any amount of image files into one file
Module Module1 Sub combine() Dim img1 As New Bitmap("i1.jpg")
