Public Function imgToFile(ByRef img As mshtml.HTMLImg) As String
Dim ocr As mshtml.IHTMLControlRange
Dim theFile As String
Dim trying As Integer
[Code]....
The only problem is once in a while it fails. If it fails, we'll wait 5 seconds and try again. Well, it doesn't help. Once it fails it keep failing.

on my form i have a button and five textboxes... when i click the button it takes me to a website. on this website is a list of five items. i want to take these five items and place them in the 5 textboxes. up to now what i have been doing is highlighting the first item in the list on the website, right clicking and using the copy feature, then going back to the vb form and pasting the first item in textbox1... then go back to the website and highlight item two... return to the form and paste in textbox2.. then the same procedure for the next three items
is there a way to highlight all five items from the website, right click, select copy and then paste the information into the 5 textboxes on the form... one in each of the textboxes provided without doing it one at a time

I've just started VB.net and I don't understand the graphics system at all. (accustomed to vb6)
I'm trying to draw a bookcase in my form (or picturebox. I don't really care. Whatever works!). I have images called
top.bmp
bookspace.bmp
shelf.bmp
bottom.bmp.
I'd like to create the bookshelf from those images like so
(top) - 40px high
(bookspace) - 200px high
(shelf) - 40px high
(bookspace) - 200px high
(bottom) - 40px high
All 880px across.

I have to create a program to manage a large number of USB Thumbdrives. In short, the drives will contain corporate images used by technicians to prep machines in the field. I do not have to create the images as they are already provided. Since I have to create 50 plus of these at one time, I am looking at writing a program to automate the process. As it stands now, formatting, partitioning, and copying the image to each key individually is, as you can understand, not efficient time wise. I have already purchased two industrial quality 7 port powered hubs.
The plan is to be able to: Fill all 14 slots in the hubs with USB ThumbdrivesUse the program to select the drives to prepareHave the program format and partition the drives (bootable)Copy the contents of the image folder provided to the USB keys. The idea is to do the above by filling all the slots and hitting one button, then walking away to do other work. When done, the drives would be ejected, and the next set of 14 installed.
I have already created the User Interface. It consists of: 5 buttons (Scan For Drives, Format Drives, Build Drives, Build And Format Drives, Exit).One "Select Source" entry field to select the source of the Image Files.One Checked Entry List. This is where all available drives will be listed, and the one's desired to be checked.
Now, it has been 20 years since I did any coding, and all of that was done in languages that are pretty much dead today (Turbo Pascal, Clarion Professional Developer and R:Base), so to say I'm behind the curve is an understatement. While I was never a real fan of Basic, I have some experience with it. But today's VB.Net ain't your daddy's basic, and there's no way I have time to learn C or C++. I have the Express version of Visual Studio 2010, which should be fine for this project.

Bmp = New Bitmap(800, 500)
Dim G As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(Bmp)
G.CopyFromScreen(Me.PointToScreen(Me.ClientRectangle.Location), New Point(0, 0), Me.ClientSize)

First step is what you're here for: upload an image to be solved. This can be done by issuing a multipart/form-data POST request to[url]...

Im trying to retrieve images from a website in my app. Im using the HttpWebRequest to get the source of the site, and then I search the string for <img src=" to get the link of the source.
The full tag is :
<img src="shopimages/products/normal/WCA356.jpg" alt="12Pc Stripe Over The Knee Socks (Black/Yellow)" style="width:300px; " class="ProductFullImage"/>
Then I do my little code just to get the actual link name... In the end it will be
slink = "http://www.wickedwholesale.com/shopimages/products/normal/WCA356.jpg"
If you go to the link, you will see that the image is a full size image... 300 x 716.
I've tried used the following two methods to get the image :
[Code]....
Method 1 works fine, but looks like the image is saved as a thumbnail. About 39 x 94, instead of being 300 x 716.
Method 2 just doesnt seem to be doing anything, even tho lngRetVal is 46161906918752269.

I'm trying to recreate this feature for a twitter control program using VB Studio 2008. I want the users to be able to sign up their account in my application so they don't have to go to the site and do it.
Because captchas are dynamic images, I cannot pull the image from a src file. I'm pretty new to vb.net so, how would I initiate a session, with the webbrowser control or webclient, and be able to display the captcha image for that session on my form.

What I want is: To scan a website every 15 mins or so, (craigslist in this case), and email myself any new posts that come up. I know I need to use WebClient, but I never used that before. Another question would be how to only email when a new post is up and not receive the same email every 15 mins.

I have a ASP.NET 2.0 website created in C# that acts as a completely independent site and I am looking to integrate this into an existing ASP.NET 2.0 website created in VB.NET. Unfortunately I just don't know much about the server management side of ASP.NET yet so too much I'm unaware of when it comes to IIS configuration etc. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can go about integrating this? Basically I want to host it in a subdirectory from root so when you hit example.com/myindependantsite/ it will pull up my C# site.
One possible solution I came across mentioned just dropping the project folder into the root directory and setting up that directory as an application virtual directory in IIS? A few other random questions were small things like would my application relative links (~/for-example.aspx) stay relative to my root subdirectory if it's made into an application virtual directory? Just trying to get this running on their site but like I said it's completely independent so want to preserve my websites environment.

I want to create a program to fetch information from a website (that's fine). However, you need to be logged in to get this information. I just want two simple textbox controls that I would type my username and password into and hit submit and the information would be returned to me so I can use it. (I don't want to use a webbrowser control)

I am busy writing a application that i can set up a list of files to copy from one location to a remote network drive.
THe program has a list of "jobs" in a datagrid that it loops through and executes in sequence. What i have now is a background worker that reports the status of which job it is on (File 1 of 5) but i would like something that shows the status of the current copying file as sometimes large files can look like it's stopped on the network
I am using the System.io.file.copy structure, but have also tried the my.computer.filesystem.copyfile (which shows the status in a "windows" copy box)
So, what i would like is some guidance on how to create a function that will copy the file but also report back progress periodicly. I don't want to read and write byte for byte as im worried this will be too slow.
Also, is there a better way/function to use to copy files? Looking for best speed

I have a DataGridView which lists the paths of a group of files, pptx, xlxs, etc. From a context menu they can copy the name of the file onto the clipboard, or delete the file or rename the file, but I would like to be able to actually attach the file itself to the clipboard so it could be pasted as an attachment to an email or something like that. How do I get the file itself onto the clipboard when I only have the path to it?

I have added two images as a resource in my project. I'd need to copy these images to a certain folder when the program is started. I'm not familiar about using resources, so far I have managed to set a picturebox to show one of these images like this:
Dim res() As String = GetType(Form1).Assembly.GetManifestResourceNames()
pBoxTest.Image = New System.Drawing.Bitmap( _
GetType(Form1).Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream(res(0)))
But I don't know how to get the url of that image so that I could copy it from it's url to another place.If I now try to find out the location of that picturebox's image I get an empty string: MsgBox(pBoxTest.ImageLocation)This should work in any computer where the program is run so of course I can not just hardcode the path of this resource.

I am trying to copy a treeview control from one form to another. To do this I wrote the following
Dim tempForm As frmDoc
Dim tempTreeview As TreeView
tempForm = frmMain.Activemdichild
tempTreeview = temForm.treeview1
Me.Controls.Add(tempTreeview)
However this code moves the treeview from one form to another, it does not copy (or clone) the control.
