Programmatically Create An .eml File That Contains A .pdf As Attachment?

Jun 12, 2009

I'm writing my program in VB.Net,Part of my program is supposed to create a .eml file containing either an xml or a pdf file or both as attachments. Prior to writing this program, I had never seen what a .eml file looks like, let alone an .eml file with attachments(I never used any of the outlooks), so I got someone to send me an email containing both these attachments and save the .eml file, so I could use this as a template in my own program. However, I noticed that the pdf file, after having been attached, is a huge string of letters(see below). Probably some sort of encoding. My problem is, my program is going to be creating several different pdf files and adding them as attachments to .eml files. How do I encode the different pdf files into a similar huge string of text as the one below? Or am I going about this the wrong way? What would be an alternative way to do this? Because having to encode that long string of text seems like it would be a very daunting task.[code]

Trying To Use 2008 Express To Export Outlook 2000 & Outlook 2003 Address Contacts Into Excel Or CSV File

Apr 20, 2009

I work for a somewhat large company. There are about 160 Windows XP Pro users. We are still using Microsoft Office 2000 for the most part.We have upgraded some users to Office 2003. We are not using Microsoft Exchange.I have to export every users' Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2003 Contacts into an Excel or CSV file every 6 months as a way of backing the Outlook Address Contacts.Currently I am doing this by physically going to every pc and manually exporting the contacts. This is a large pain.I am trying to find out if I can use or create a Visual Basic 2008 Express program or script that will export the contacts from Outlook and save it as an Excel or CSV file. The name of the file should be the same as the computers net name.It should be saved in the same location, on the network, each time.I am new to programming and new to VB 2008 Express.I do not know or have any code to start with.

Installing A Sql File

Nov 13, 2010

I have a sql file that i need to use with Visual Basic, im assuming i have to install it as i had to do that with a different sql file, the only difference between the sql file i have now and the other one i had is that the one i need to use with VB has only an sql file and does not have a database file that goes with it, this one is only an sql file. I have opened the file in SQL server management studio express and executed it over and over and it says (1 row(s) affected) (I have attached a screenshot) but nothing happens. If you look in the screenshot, on the left hand side you can see the "Pubs" database, that was the other sql file i had that had a database with it and it installed fine. Im really not sure what else to do with this.

Forms :: Installing A Resource File With An Application?

Jul 27, 2009

I'm going to be using a text file to record and save values, line by line, and then pull these values out again upon restarting the application. Almost like a save file of sorts, just for some basic numeric variables.Getting the information in and out won't be too much of an issue, however I am wondering if there is a way that during the installation of this application, I could specify a place to create and save this text file, for eg:

c:ProgramFilesPOSxstocklevels.text

I have VS8 Professional, so I do have the Setup Wizard tool, which may allow me to attach files.

Reference To Outlook: Create Contacts And Groups?

Jun 30, 2011

I created a vb.net application that reads a data file (SQL table) and creates contacts and groups from this data. If I run this application and point the Contact folder to my local Outlook folders, the application runs fine. It creates about 550 contact and 10 groups. My problem is when I go to run the application against a public folder that am the "owner" of with full permissions it will run fine until it hits items 250 and then I get a COM error.
