Creating A 2 Page PDF With A Different Background Image On The Second Page?

Oct 1, 2011

I am trying to use itextsharp to take dynamic information and generate a PDF with it.. The PDF's use a background Image on each page which is different and the text content is positioned where it needs to be using the contentByte helper. Thats the plan anyways. I hit a hang up when I tried to add another page and then drop the image and text onto that page... My first page ends up with the image that should be on my second page and the first page image fails to display at all on either page... My code so far is as follows:

Function ID_and_Parking(ByVal id As Integer) As ActionResult
Dim _reg_info As reg_info = db.reg_info.Single(Function(r) r.id = id)
Dim _conf_info As conf_info = db.conf_info.Single

I'm reading about the WPF Navigation Services and I have a general question. At run-time I want to be able to parse an external XML file that has information about an UI (i.e. a series of screens) and then in the code-behind create a WPF Navigation service with multiple Pages. Is it possible to create a new WPF Page at run-time or do they have to be created in Visual Studio first?

Creating A User Favorites Section On A Page

May 13, 2009

I'm just starting to learn vb.net and have never worked with cookies. I'm wondering if I can store an array of name value pairs in a cookie, so they can be retrieved by index number. I'm not really even sure if that's the best way to handle the issue. I basically want to have three things: an 'add/delete' page that has a text box for creating new favorites, along with a list of their current favorites, with the ability to individual delete favorites from the list.be able to display their existing favorites from the cookie on a separate page and a button I can put on all my pages for 'add this to favorites'I don't mind doing the research, of course, but really need direction on what will be required. Having never worked with cookies, I don't really know the limitations.

I am trying to create a link in a user area of my website. After logging in, the users info is passed to the allow access to specific areas of the site. What I would like to do is create an html link that is controlled by a conditional statement.

for example, after a user logs in, I want to check whether they have credentials to click on a link which will allow them to advance to something new. If they don't have the credentials, the link will be blocked out or not appear at.I am looking for a place to start on this task, any documentation or keywords would be helpful. Also code samples would help greatly.

Creating A "Print Preview" Of A Summary Page?

Nov 1, 2009

I'm creating a Print Preview page that shows a summary of information, such as "Number of Boats" "Total Revenue" and "Average Hours"

I figured out how to display the number of boats, but for "Total Revenue" and "Average Hours" I can't figure out how to get the numbers to display because it is calculations that I have to do, and I have no idea how to do calculations under a PrinterDoc form...

Heres the

Private Sub PrintSummary_PrintPage(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Drawing.Printing.PrintPageEventArgs) Handles PrintSummary.PrintPage
Dim PrintFont As New Font("Arial", 12)

[Code].....

I basically need to figure out how to do a count for Total Revenue which would keep a running tally of my PriceTextBox..

And for Average Hours, I would need to find a way to keep count of my Hours typed in the HoursTextBox..

Asp.net - Using Javascript On An Aspx Page That Uses A Master Page - Which Contains The Page In A Form?

Aug 7, 2009

I have a master page which contains everything that inherits it within a form. A page inheriting from it needs to run some javascript to act on a text field on a page. However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.

Page Events In Master Page And Content Page

May 11, 2011

The thing is i have a Master page and a Content Page. I have a LoadComplete in Content Page and a PreRender in Master Page. The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.

Asp.net - Enable/disable Web Elements Of A Parent Aspx Page From The Child Ascx Page?

Protected Sub editUser(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewEditEventArgs)
'set selected user from gridview.

This works in most cases. However, I am unable to access the "enabled" attribute of these web controls. Why is this, and how might I access that attribute?

Disable Page Cache To Force Page Load With Browser Back Button

May 7, 2009

I have an asp.net website that is using update panels on the page that i cant get to reload from the server. I have this for the disable page cache on the master page.

'Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.UtcNow.AddDays(-1))
'Response.Cache.SetValidUntilExpires(False)
'Response.Cache.SetRevalidation(HttpCacheRevalidation.AllCaches)
'Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache)
'Response.Cache.SetNoStore()

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

Form With A Tab Control That Has 18 Pages - Click On A Tab It Opens The Page And Select A Textbox On That Page

Mar 8, 2009

I have a form with a Tab Control that has 18 pages. When I click on a tab it opens the page and select a textbox on that page (txtTextbox1. Select() ). This works for the first 8 pages but not for the remaining 10 pages. Although on these pages I can mouse click on the textbox, enter info, save then click my Add button that clears the textboxes and has the code (txtTextbox1. Select() ). The textbox is selected just fine. The code for all my pages is the same except for the tab name and the control names. The tab key will move the selection to the next textbox in order on all pages and the Enter key is coded to do the same. The first 8 pages have a total of 256 labels, buttons, list boxes, textboxes and checkboxes on them.

I CANNOT close popup child page if user goes to another app, or some other location, I only want to close if something on parent page is changed.

I have the PageIndexChange Event set up for other purposes, I would just like to add some functionality, perhaps a script manager to close the child popup page if the Gridview index is changed, java or another way which ever works best.I think I might also need to check if the child page is even open.
