I am loading forms into a TabControl creating a new tab page each time the form is loaded. ** I would like to point out that I am using UC instead of a from**
Now, I can easily have many tabs with the same form loaded. On the form I have a 'Search Button' So my question is, after clicking the search button how can I tell which instance of the form the 'Search Button' was clicked? Hope this makes sense

I have a tab control in my Main Form which has 2 tab pages, each of which are a different form. I create them as:
Dim UserManagementForm As New UserManagement()
Dim FileManagementForm As New FileManagement()
Then set them up via:
UserManagementForm.TopLevel = False
UserManagementForm.Parent = TabControl1.TabPages(0)
UserManagementForm.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None

I have a PrintForm component on my form and I am trying to send the currently active tab page to the print form and then send it to the appropriate dialog. However, I keep getting the document contains no images. Any ideas how I pass the tab page to the print form component?

I am using web browser control in one of my forms for displaying html files (local files). Before I load the next file I want to clear the webbrowser control of the previous page. I am trying the following method which I found while searching the net.

I have added the reference for mshtml namespace in com tab. When trying to run the program, error is thrown like "Type 'IHTMLDocument2' is not defined. (BC30002)".

I have been tasked to do a project, and have been given a list of links from the client - what the Project needs to do is:1 - open google with a specific search phrase - no problem2 - look on that page for any links containing any member of the list of links, if found, invalidate the entry in the list, and auto-click the link, then go back3 - repeat for any other "finds" on that page4 - when done, auto-click on "Next" (no problem) and go back to step 2For now, I am not even attempting to auto-click the found link and go back, I am just listing all found links in a TextBox. The problem I am having is waiting for the next pages to load before looking for a match in the list of links. I tried using webBrowser.DocumentCompletedto set a Boolean - I tried testing WebBrowserReadyState in the DocumentCompleted event ar the code below gives the best results but it is inconsistent, meaning it completely misses some pages that I know have links on them that match.

I have two forms , say FormA and FormB..In FormA, a Button Click i wrote FormB.Show.When i click again the button its creating another instance of FormB.i want to make FormB as single instane, if again the button event raised i need to focus the FormB rather creating another instance.

I'm looking forward to reading and adding more to the community here. I've created a text based rpg. Next semester we are learning Visual Basic. I'm on winter break and I would like to get a head start on my learning. I've been working on creating some forms and message boxes. What is throwing me off, is that I have a good feel for doing coding so that I get functionality the will produce effects in a console. Coding the forms is a bit confusing for me. Is this something that others have run into? Is their some good primers for VB? I don't have my text books yet.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a tab page, on a tab control, with a smaller area than other tab pages on the tab control.
For example, if the small tab was in focus, the contents of the tab behind would be visible.
I have tried the tab page size properties, this doesn't work.

I have an web application of 200 web pages and all has a single master page. Most of the content pages use AJAX controls so most of content pages has its own ScriptManager. Now I have a requirement to add a link with HoverMenuExtender control and for that I need to put ScriptManager in the Master page, but it is working only in the content pages where there is not ScriptManager.

I'm working on a pretty simple project, just a WebBrowser app which is tailored for Webmail. I'm working on an OWA portion, and OWA normally doesn't allow the textfields on the Login page to be auto-filled. Is there a way I can force this? Search through the OWA login page code, find the fields, then fill in the fields with preset/saved data?

i have a simple photo viewer application where i want the user to click a "load sequence" button and then i want something like a folderbroswerdialog to appear then the user can pick a folder with images in it then the images get loaded into the picturebox and the user can click a "forward" button to go to the next image in the sequence and a "backward" button to go to the previous image in the sequence, it's kinda like windows 7 photo viewer.

My UI currently addsabPageGraphs to a TabControlMain dynamically. I now need to present 4 different views of the same data. I want to do something like the following code indicatesbut there is no 'Add()' method for TabPages by which I can add 4 Tabs to an existing TabPage.How would I accomplish this so that under a specific dynamically added TabPage, the User can select any of 4 new TabPages with a different graph to view.

I am back with new problems relating to TabControl Page. On the TabControl there are 2 Pages which are : PagDisplay - Contail DataGridView (ReadOnly)PagEdit - Contain TextBox controls for editing data from PagDisplayThe System Analyst specification is after editing the data at TabPage2 when the user click on PagDisplay on TabControl it will activate the Function FCheckData to validate all the textbox data on PagEdit. I have a single instance VB 2010 application I know how to communicate with the next instances run through the StartupNextInstance application event. The usual way of working with this is parsing command line arguments of the new instance and continue execution of the old instance. What I would like to do is replace the running instance with the new one. Is there any way to do this other than disabling the single instance property ?

One of the great features of Page Frames in the now discontinued FoxPro language was that you could use a Page Frame (like a TabControl) and hide the tabs. The nice thing about this was that if you wanted (for example) to have simulated "frames" you could use a Page Frame control, hide the tabs, and that gave you endless frame that you could then access programmatically.I need to do something along the same lines. To further illustrate, if you look at any configuration screen in Office 2007, they all have a ListBox on the left, and then clicking on those Listbox selections brings up "frames" on the right with what you want to work with.This is the effect I want to create - but in .NET I cannot see a good control to use.
Panels - these seemed a good idea at first, but even when set to Visible and not Visible these frames hide each other so they dont seem like they will work.
GroupBoxes - Tried these but the same problem as with panels.
TabControl - Tried this, and it works great - but I DONT want the Tabs. Instead I want non-tabbed pages, that would then be like frames.
What is the best control to use? And, can I hide the Tabs somehow in the TabControl?

I am back with new problem using TabControl in VBNET2008 Window Application I am trying to figure out how to determine logically either TabPage1 or TabPage2 header button is clicked on.
The TabControl has 2 Pages:
TabPage1 Text = Display Orders
TabPage2 Text = Edit Transaction.
I need to know which one is clicked on in order to write the routines.

I am using a tabcontrol to put all my database tables as I don't want to have too many forms. I tried to set up the search form function by watching a video by Beth Messi called "Creating a search form" under form over data video series. After I finished setting up everthing accordingly, the tool strip appeared bellow the window form title bar. May I know how can I move it into the tabpage?

I have a strange problem with creating an instance of a form which I want to use as a custom message box.
The idea is that when the user clicks the button to perform a database search, an instance of this form is loaded. The background image of the form never displays but the text on the form does - but it all works fine when I remove the call to the database.
I also tried putting a "proper" VB message box just before the database call and when I block it this way it seems to allow the image to draw on the form.I also tried using a timer delay before the database call - just a couple of seconds to see if that would allow it time to draw the image.
