In vb 6.0 I can create I data report by using data environment of the project properties.I woul like to ask if how can I create something like that in vb.net. The reports that will be viewed will be printed if the user want to.
I am using VS 2008 standard edition to develop my first windows form application and it does not come with crystal components. I nedd to design few reports but I can't find any help on the net. In my vba application I create one form which accepts all parameters and based on parameter I build SQL statement and pass it to report data source. I would like to similar in vb.net, but all I see is cryatal. Can I create reports without Crystal?
I am creating reports in Crystal Reports that is integrated within Visual Studio 2008, and I noticed that some of the features are disabled. One is the ability to link tables with a Right Outer Join or Full Outer Join. I also cannot "Show SQL Query" in Crystal Reports. Is this something I can enable or do I have to purchase or upgrade?
I have a "MicrosoftReportViewer" on a form and a Combo box that lists the available reports (which will end up being dynamic in the end). When the use selects an item from the list, the system loads up the correct report (populating any datasets needed) and then displaying it.Thing is, I can't get the viewer to change the displayed report, it just refreshes the first loaded report.
As you can see from the code below, there are two reports set up. I can get either one to be displayed if you select it first, sadly you're then stuck with that one!Currently they both use the same datasouce, so no need to mess about with that.
Private Sub ComboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox1.SelectedIndexChanged Me.viw_ShowAllRepairsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.RepairsSystemDataSet.viw_ShowAllRepairs)
[code]....
This just loads up the report that the viewer has set as the default, reguardless of the report selected! What am I missing? There should be a way to change the report being viewed and I don't really want to be having multiple viewers just to house multiple reports?
Within vb.net we've got a report that works great it has it's header/footer details then then a table in the middle which repeats data and all of that is fine.
But what the client wants now is for another button named 'Print Individual' and this will print the same report but instead of the repeated data within the table for each of those rows to be a single row on a page with the same header/footer.
So for example on the first report if there is one page with 5 rows of details the 'Print Individual' report will print the same but have 5 pages and 1 row per report.
Obviously if I can do it where we use the same report instead of maintaing two reports would be good, as the report has a lot of information on it.
My program is using Crystal Report to generat reports. Fine. Everything worked in VB.net 2005 and Crystal report XI. But know, when I have build the project in VB.net 2010 I cant open the reports any longer from the program.
I have a simple application with one datatable in a dataset, I wanted to generate a simple report based on the values in that datatable. I have not used crystal repots IDE ever and I was wodnering can we create a report in crystal reports 2008 based on my application dataset? HOW? If it is not possible to do it in the crystal reports itself, can you send me a link of something that I get on well?
I am trying create a multiple reports using a single report viewer. can this be done, if yes can u give me a clue on hw to go on about it. i have done everything its just the part of having multiple reports
I have 2 or more reports and I want to be able to open them in a single report. Let's call it the master report. In this report I want to open several reports, that are independent one to another. I'm using this code to generate the raports:
Dim crDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument Dim cmd As New OleDb.OleDbCommand Dim da As New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter Dim dt As New DataTable
[code]....
With this code I rewrite the datasource of the raport, and I can filter the query by the 'param' variable in the query. After setting the datasource of the report i can save the raport:
Is it possible to display different with a single a report viewer such that when I click on the button "Report 1" to should display Report 1 in the Report Viewer. If I click on the button "Report 2" it should display Report 2. Is this possible ? If yes then please provide the code.
I have created several reports without an issue. Though if I use interactive sorting with a report that has 2 fields in the document map properties under edit details group like the following : =Fields!FirstName.Value &" " & Fields!LastName.Valueeverthing populates as it should when I open up the report. If I click the sort button on the repoprt I recieve the following error : An error occured during local report processing. An error occured during report processing. An Internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. I would like to sort the fields in the report. If I have 1 field in the document map properties there are no issues.
Within vb.net is there a way I can dynamically create multiple reports using the same rdlc but with different SQL statements. So in essence I want to write a loop that will open the same report multiple times within the viewer which will end up having many pages..
I want to take the following result with the help of query in Crystal Reports:I have a stock table where three column's "type", "product", and "quantity" now I want that to drag two sql expressions in my report 1st is "INN" and 2nd is "Out" and it comes like if the "type" is purchase so it check the "product" field and ADD the quantity and if the type is Sale it less the quantity according to "product" So what query should I write to get the result?
i want to know is it possible to bind my all crystal reports to a single reportviewer, somewhat in tabbed view or treevie. If tabbed then visible through navigation button.
I have one PC whereby the OS has been installed on E: and it has no C: drive. Onto this I have installed my .Net 4.0 WPF Application which runs fine.
However, when I try to access a crystal report it gives the exception below. This user is able to access the report from its network location in windows explorer so I assume the act of asking Crystal to copy it locally is causing a problem?
Therefore, can anyone advise where the local copy will be created and/or how I can control this.

I have some questions about building reports in Report builder 3.0 OR SQL Server BI Studio 2008. I use the report builder for the good wizard. Make better reports dan de BI wizard. And after that i work further in the BI Studio. Now i have a problem i have a report(letter) that i need to generate. But i exists of 2 pages. The first page is a letter with the second page as Attachment with some calculations. So i may not printed on the same page. But i can't make 2 page's in de report builder or BI studio. How can i do that? Because i must place on each page a footer with some general info.
I need help creating bootstapper for crystal reports runtime..I want crystal reports runtime to be installed automatically with the application if its not installed on the target machine.I am using vs2010?
how to create Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 for a Client Server application? The problem I faced is that when I created Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 where the Crystal Report is displayed in the client application it does not get refreshed with data entered. It only displays data that was entered during the time of development. I think this is probably because the database path changes when deployed in a new environment while the Crystal report keeps referring to the database location at development time.
I am creating a visual basic project for class. It is all running as intended though I am not sure how to set up the login to database function. When you click the link for the specific report it should display the page. But I get a login to database page. I am just wondering how I set that up so that one can actually see the information. ie:
I am trying to export a report but everytime it runs the code to export the crystal report in the crystalreportviewer I get an error message saying "Missing Parameter Values". I've looked through many sources but havent found a solution. I do know that all parameters are filled in because without the export code, the site runs perfectly fine.
Export code Try Dim CrExportOptions As CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions
i have been using the above references to print a report in word document but my problem is that i am failing to put headers and footers on my reports. i want to include report title on the header and page number on the footer. how do i do it?
I am using reportview to set up my report pages. I used the existing datasets(configure -->add table -->save) but every time I clicked save, I got a few errors. So I decided to create new datasets for the tables that I want to have reports. Is that the right thing to do?
Unfortunately the data that i needed to post on the first page of crystal report can NO longer occupy the needed information that my system require in my report page... i would like to know how can i add page 02 on crystal report please
So I had a report I needed to create and needed to get the total users per job for a system that I was not (and still am not) very familiar with. I asked the developer for that system for the code and was told it was no easy task. He sent me a query that didn't look anything like a user count. I told him I needed something to get all the users for each and every job in order to put it in the report I was building for one of the clients. I was told that wouldn't really work. I looked at his code as it worked on a per job basis.
The following is an example of the "logic" used to get the user count per job in asp.net: TRUNCATE TABLE1 INSERT username INTO TABLE1 FROM QUERY1 WHERE CRITERIA MET AND job = *passedinjob INSERT username INTO TABLE1 FROM QUERY2 WHERE CRITERIA MET AND job = *passedinjob AND username NOT IN TABLE1 SELECT username FROM TABLE1 and put in a dataset [Code] .....
There were no UNION statements in the query1 or query2, there was no select count(*) from table, there was no recordset.count..
I'm having a problem connecting my DB to a crystal report. I have tried to databinding my DB in MySql but it seems that it cannot produce the data needed but the fields are there..
