Making Reports With Report Builder 3.0 OR SQL Server BI Studio 2008
Dec 5, 2010
I have some questions about building reports in Report builder 3.0 OR SQL Server BI Studio 2008. I use the report builder for the good wizard. Make better reports dan de BI wizard. And after that i work further in the BI Studio. Now i have a problem i have a report(letter) that i need to generate. But i exists of 2 pages. The first page is a letter with the second page as Attachment with some calculations. So i may not printed on the same page. But i can't make 2 page's in de report builder or BI studio. How can i do that? Because i must place on each page a footer with some general info.
I am creating reports in Crystal Reports that is integrated within Visual Studio 2008, and I noticed that some of the features are disabled. One is the ability to link tables with a Right Outer Join or Full Outer Join. I also cannot "Show SQL Query" in Crystal Reports. Is this something I can enable or do I have to purchase or upgrade?
I have quite a complicated database with a lot of relations and I need to make form that gets data from all kinds of tables and calculate prices etc... Another important thing is, when I open/load a report in my application, I want to be able to filter it using the Primary key. I don't want all records in my database to be shown. I know for sure this can be done but I don't know how.
I am looking for a tutorial for making reports with Visual Studio 2008. I have a VB.Net app using hard coded MySQL statements and variables from different parts of the program, mostly the server as I have the same app with options to connect to different servers with the same back end structure (different data unique). As far as i know I can not use data sets (I think thats the name for them) as that would mean one program for one location.
I need help in making my Crystal Reports in ASP.NET. I'm using VB.NET. This is my source code
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim myConnection As New OleDbConnection("Provider = Microsoft.Jet.OleDB.4.0; Data Source = " & Server.MapPath("Sartorius.mdb)")) Dim MyCommand As New OleDbCommand
[code]...
I'm having errors in making the orpt object. It says that CrystalReport1 is not defined though I already created a CrystalReport1.rpt file on my solution.
I'm making a builder for a simple ftp client, but i have a problem.I have readed a tut about a builder with a stub, thats done but i only can fill in 1 form, but how can i make that my builder fills 2 forms in the client?
My code in the stub is:
Dim options(), text1 As String Const FileSplit = "@vorfin@" Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load FileOpen(1, Application.ExecutablePath, OpenMode.Binary, OpenAccess.Read, OpenShare.Shared)
I'm buiding an app that loads a crystal report document but it's loading the document from my local drive. I need to embed the crystal report i think because I don't want it reading from the local drive because I'm looking to deploy this to other users when it's done. Are there any other options?
this event works ok, but the problem is that I don't know what field was clicked. Should I use objectinfo or something else? VB.net won't recognize for example e.objectinfo.
I have upgraded an existing project to be developed on Visual Studio 2008 but I still need to target the .NET framework 2.0My project had the prerequisite Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 but Visual Studio 2008 reports that that "could not be found for bootstrapping"Now my users get the error:Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=10.5.3700.0, ...' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I just got into VB 2010 with SQL 2008 Server Report. I was able to create a report as my wish and it's vieable via direct url (URL). But I want to pass login Information and Selection parameters to the report. But I don't want to pass them thru URL, So I want to load them from the application (winform) and launch the report in iexplorer.
I have "Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition" and "Crystal Reports XI Developer edition".I have to integrate crystal reports in my application. I am fine developing the reports using the "Crystal Reports IDE" but not sure on how can I integrate those reports into my application.I have downloaded and installed the reportviewer control but not sure how to use it for crystal reports.
I am studying crystal report with visual studio 2008. I knew OLEDB, ADO.Net And ADO connections etc. But whatever connection that we must assign data sources. I want to non-configured and assign data sources as like data-grid. In the data-grid, we can configure data field name and generate data assignation in runtime. Can I do this for report or not. If I can this, tell me how can I do this.
I have pasted below a piece of code where I am displaying a report. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Crystal Report engine. It works all good with the piece of code
Problem: Everytime a report is being run it generates a ('.*tmp', '.*rpt') files typically in a temp folder c:windows emp however we can get rid of the *.tmp files by setting a recycle on the application pool but need a way to get rid of the .rpt files.
Found solution: Call Close() and Dispose() on the report object. The way I am doing is crReportDoc.Close() then crReportDoc.Dispose()Actual Problem: If Dispose() is called the report comes up with the following error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'
I'm making a program that would require me to send data between to different machines. The way i plan to do this is to have a server program constantly running on my computer.(any other way to do this?) When someone opens the Client program, the program connects to the server. The server then takes the users I.P address and Username and adds it to a listbox on the Server application. Then the server application constantly updates the list of users on the Client application. So that way every user can see everyone that is connected. Then, when the user wants to connect to another user - They select the Username from their listbox of users. Then all connections will be handled between the users = Each user is connected to the other user's Client program. Well there is the first thing i don't know how to do.The next is simply how i send the data between the users. Would i use a winsock control?Example: One user does an action. The winsock control sends the text "blue" to the other user. The other user's program's form color changes to the color blue. That's not what this program will do, but it's just an example.
i am having a Visual Studio 2008 but it not install with crystal report when i open add new item-> its didnot contain Crystal Report how can i add crystal report and make crystal reports in visual studio 2008 how i install crystal report with visual studio 2008 only crystal reports 2008 install and its open with visual studio 2008 when we click Project->Add New Item-> and crystal reports shows in thiis file
I am new to vbExpress. I am working in vb express with MsAccess as database. I have a form with ListView and some comboboxes, textboxes, buttons etc. Now I am at the stage of forming different reports from database and then printing them. Like I want to make a RECEIPT with CompanyName as header, date, time, Serial Number, ItemDescription, Quantity,Price, Amount,Mode of payment. Then I want to generate sales reports like daily sale, weekly sale, monthly sale. The things like that. Definitely I will use SQL statements to bring data from the tables according to the requirements of reports. My question is how I can make and display different reports from the databases and to print them in proper format.
I have a "MicrosoftReportViewer" on a form and a Combo box that lists the available reports (which will end up being dynamic in the end). When the use selects an item from the list, the system loads up the correct report (populating any datasets needed) and then displaying it.Thing is, I can't get the viewer to change the displayed report, it just refreshes the first loaded report.
As you can see from the code below, there are two reports set up. I can get either one to be displayed if you select it first, sadly you're then stuck with that one!Currently they both use the same datasouce, so no need to mess about with that.
Private Sub ComboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox1.SelectedIndexChanged Me.viw_ShowAllRepairsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.RepairsSystemDataSet.viw_ShowAllRepairs)
[code]....
This just loads up the report that the viewer has set as the default, reguardless of the report selected! What am I missing? There should be a way to change the report being viewed and I don't really want to be having multiple viewers just to house multiple reports?
In vb 6.0 I can create I data report by using data environment of the project properties.I woul like to ask if how can I create something like that in vb.net. The reports that will be viewed will be printed if the user want to.
Within vb.net we've got a report that works great it has it's header/footer details then then a table in the middle which repeats data and all of that is fine.
But what the client wants now is for another button named 'Print Individual' and this will print the same report but instead of the repeated data within the table for each of those rows to be a single row on a page with the same header/footer.
So for example on the first report if there is one page with 5 rows of details the 'Print Individual' report will print the same but have 5 pages and 1 row per report.
Obviously if I can do it where we use the same report instead of maintaing two reports would be good, as the report has a lot of information on it.
My program is using Crystal Report to generat reports. Fine. Everything worked in VB.net 2005 and Crystal report XI. But know, when I have build the project in VB.net 2010 I cant open the reports any longer from the program.
I am trying to build a user control that will do exactly what the SQL 2005 Connect to Server interface do, eventually create a connection string and store in a app.config file. It should allow user to select server type, server name, authentication, user name and password. It should also automatically load available servers and domain login by default.
problem use Visual Studio 2005,2008 with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 , when open vb.net choose : add new data source and choose database and add connection when choose Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient) show error this version not supported
I have a simple application with one datatable in a dataset, I wanted to generate a simple report based on the values in that datatable. I have not used crystal repots IDE ever and I was wodnering can we create a report in crystal reports 2008 based on my application dataset? HOW? If it is not possible to do it in the crystal reports itself, can you send me a link of something that I get on well?
I am trying create a multiple reports using a single report viewer. can this be done, if yes can u give me a clue on hw to go on about it. i have done everything its just the part of having multiple reports
