Merge Multiple Excel Files Into One Excel File And It Works For 3 Source Files But Its Not Working If Workbook With Worksheet Count Is > 3?
Aug 18, 2011I'm trying to copy multiple excel source files into one excel file. My current code is working only for 3 source files..If more than 3 files are there, it doesn't copy the data but creates blank work sheet in the output excel file. Lets say I have a source folder with 5 excel files. Each workbook contains one worksheet with data. It copies upto 3 worksheets along with data into output excel file.
Lets say excel1 contains A as work sheet, excel2 contains B as work sheet ,excel3 contains C as work sheet ,excel4 contains D as work sheet ,excel5 contains E as work sheet .Now my output excel file should look like..OutputExcel with A, B, C, D, E along with respective data.But my current code is giving output as A,B,C worksheets along with respective data but its creating blank sheet1,sheet2 in place of D & E.

Apr 11, 2012I am at college and am creating an app. however i have two main problems within my app. my app is a pizza app which will allow staff within a pizza shop to send the orders to the kitchen (this is just a listbox).but, the math doesnt work, the correct pricing isnt being displayed in the label for the orders for some reason. I have tried different ways of writing and placing my code but the result is always the same. also, i have five customers per table. if i select all the customers orders and click on send, only customer two's order will be sent. not any of the other customers, but if i just do customer one on its own, it works.

SQL Connection - Creating And Working With Database
Jan 7, 2010On my development PC I have SQL Server installed, and my SQL connetion works perfect. I use a trusted connection. But on other PCs, where the program should work later, there is only a SQL "Express" installed (by another application), and it seems they have an password on the SQL Server (I guess). I have no chance to get the password from the other application. My connection is not working here. I created some connection test, but it does not seem to work with the trusted connection. I need the SQL only for creating my own database and connecting to my own database. So how do I create a connection with SQL Express for creating and working with my own database?

Add In Not Working When Excel Is Opened Using 2008
Mar 7, 2011The problem I have is that I have a 3rd party add-in working in excel to convert certain info into a barcode.
When I open excel normally, the add in works without a problem, but when I open it through excel it just doesnt work until I manually go into the add-in option, disable the add-in and the reenable it.

Sep 14, 2011I am working with a project where i am opening up excel worksheets, sending data to them and then printing the worksheet. I have been working specifically with Office 2010 and have everything working exactly how i want it to work. Recently i have been asked to make the same type of thing work for users using older versions of office.
So as a test i took one of the worksheets opened it in 2010 and saved it as a 2003 document. I went into the code switched the .xlsx over to .xls and gave it a shot. It appears that the code opens the correct file. Sends all of the data out to the worksheet and then the program bugs out.

Creating A Macro In Excel Using Vb?
Feb 24, 2010I'm creating a macro in excel using vb?What the macro is doing is checking if the row and column headers are same, and if it is then I want it to save the row header (the date in this case) AND the value (a number) into an array, and this is done in a for loop and goes on.... I dont know if I should use 2-D array or a 1-D array that stores 2 values....Not sure at all !Then after the outer most FOR LOOP is done, I want to print those values stored in the array.
Here is what I have so far, this works actually however i'm using 2 seperate arrays, one to store the row header (the date) and another array to store the value. But really I want to make it simpler, shorter and use only one array that stores both of these values as we go through the for loop and at the end of the for loop, all the values from beginning which are stored can be printed out.
Here is my code :

This totally works but with 2 different arrays, all I want is just 1 single array (not sure if it is 2-dimensions or still stays as 1 dimension but with 2 different variables)... and then the array can store the date and variable correspondant to the date, and goes to the next row, and do same thing... So the output results should be like for eg :

and so forth

May 17, 2012I have an application that opens up Excel, reads some information, then closes Excel. I developed this application using Microsoft Office XP 2007. A few weeks ago, my company upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010. The applications still works fine, but I can not compile in VS 2008 anymore. I get the error message: "Error 3 'Application' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel'." I have updated my COM reference to Microsoft Office 14.0 Object Library, but the same message appears. [code]Obviously there is a bunch of stuff under this, but this shows where the errors are.I am unable to fix a bug in the program because I can not even compile it without error.

Mar 4, 2008I am currently writing a program in vb.net that will read and write to an exel sheet using OleDbConnection. I can read in from the file fine. When I save to the excel sheet and open it, the changes are there, however, when I close the file it asks me if I want to save, which makes me assume that the changes are not saved even thought they show up.

Apr 16, 2009I am working on a class that generates a report in Excel (any version).I need to perform a bit of ad-hoc labelling on a chart, for which I have created a textbox (i.e. Excel drawing object).I've managed to get as far as creating the textbox and setting it's text using Shape.TextFrame.Characters.Text. Ideally, I'd like to set the font characteristics as well, but I can't see how to do this. I can't seem to find much info about this anywhere, so hopefully someone's dealt with this before and can give me a few pointers.

Unfortunately, I can't find the link .The program is supposed to look through one file (I call it, the donor, cell, or excel throughout the program) and compare the values found in Column C to the values found in column B of another file, called "definitions". If it finds a match, it'll take the abbreviation in definitions and paste it over the value in column B of the donor sheet.The code maybe solid, I think it is, but I can't find out. It crashes with the above error as soon as it comes time to use the getCell function.[code]

The function takes in a filename and a dataset, and returns the filename if it worked. The function works beautifully on my dev machine, but not other PCs. Creating An Excel Sheet From A .NET Application?
Mar 16, 2011I have a pet project of mine that I'm working on; basically, it's for scouts during FIRST FRC matches and allows them to enter data about teams into an Excel sheet. I'm having a problem creating said sheet, however. I want the program to create a new sheet, with the filename being whatever the user puts in a textbox I have. the interface takes data about teams one team at a time; when user wants to add a new team, they press "Enter Data" (which puts whatever is in the interface on Row x, then the user will be able to add new data to Row x+1 each time they press said button, etc). The main issue is that when I have the code as follows:

I've narrowed the problem to the "filename" and "filepath" variables. I've Googled around for answers, but the articles that I found about the error above are too vague to help me. Does anyone know why VB.NET is giving me this error? Also, how can I reuse the same Excel sheet for the entire duration that my VB.NET application is running? As in, I want to be able to add ~50 or so teams to the same Excel document (for example, all of it going into "MyRegional.xls").
Sorry if this is an obvious problem to solve or anything; I'm fairly new to programming in general, so I'm clueless as to what's going on with this. Up until this point, my program runs fine and when I comment out "Dim filename..." and "Dim filepath...", the program will run normally. If it helps, I'm running VB.NET Express 2010 in Windows 7 Home.

We met the following problem which may fail the project.We developed some functions in our .NET application and exposed to Excel as an external automation. Then we developed reports template in Excel with these custom functions to generate our report data defined in Excel cells. However, when we tried to refresh the report via .NET to call Excel in background mode, we met the problem that the defined automation is either not loaded or not working after loading. It is extremely volatile. Then we could not refresh the data as desired to display it in .NET forms.
