Creating A Datagrid From Reading In A File?

I want to read in a file and as I do put the contents into a datagrid, can this be done ?I have the following code so far
myPath = "C:SYNC_DATA�0 - LGW�5 - Archived�0 - IST Logs2008"
myFile = "istlog" & d.Year.ToString & d.Month.ToString.PadLeft(2, "0"c) & d.Day.ToString.PadLeft(2, "0"c) & ".txt"

I get an error on "adapter.Fill(dt)" which is propably incorrect.How can I get the ontents to be displayed in a datagrid on the screen called "DataGridView1"

I have an XML file with the following Structure:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

When I try to load the XML in a Datagrid,I am able to load the data under the "description" element properly, however when it comes to loading the data under the "production" element, only data for the last movie is loaded and is repeated for all 3 movies.
Below is the code i am using:

I have a datagrid which I have manually added columns to and adding rows at runtime (code I am using below if that helps in anyway). When that row is sellected I wish to get the data from different columns.

I am working in windows forms with Vb.NET 2008. I am trying to read text in from an external program. So far I have been able to read text in from a standard text box or button, however I am trying to read data in from an external data grid.
When I try to use the following I get no information about the grid
ChildHandle = FindWindowEx(ParentHandle, IntPtr.Zero, "classnameofexternaldatagrid", Nothing)
Dim Hndl As IntPtr = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(2000)
NumText = SendMessage(ChildHandle, WM_GETTEXT, 2000, Hndl)

Usually if it is a standard text box I will get the text data with no problem, but it is a standard data grid and there are no further sub handles to try and read from. If WM_GETTEXT wont read information from an external data grid then how would I read in the data?

Here is the code in question:

However, it will not allow me to reference .DataMember, it keeps popping up with the error text "'DataMember' is not a member of 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGrid'". What can I do to resolve this error? Or how else can I read into the DataGrid?
Note: I have the most recent Framework installed with Service Pack 1

I am trying to make an program that when it starts it will check an table in the database for what buttons it should add. It can be at the most 60 buttons presented on the screen, i am trying to get the datagridview to handle this. But my main problem is that the buttons get displayed in columns, i would like the buttons to appear like the attacment (more or less)

I am trying to create an xml editor that read and write xml. my code reads the xml with no problem and allows me to create new rows but when I try to "write" it over I get the following error: "Token StartElement in state Epilog would result in an invalid XML document"

I am creating a windows application for my company. in the master file i will enter the number of items we are getting from the customer. and in the next page i have to enter the details of each item. For that i have created a datagrid which has one autogenerate number field and the remaining fields must be editable. I need to write data to a file, preferably in binary format, but I am unaccustomed with the concept. Where's the easiest place to get the basics? I could come here with a specific need, but I'm at the point right now where I am more willing to work within the confines of keeping it simple.
Here's what I know:
1. how to open a new file
2. how to specify the record length
3. how to close the file
Some specific questions:
Does the record length have to be constant throughout the file?
Can I read the nth record without reading the whole file?

I want to perform two hashing operations concurrently on a single file, without reading the file twice. Is there some way to share the FileStream between two synchronized hashing threads? For example:

Maybe some way of caching a stream? Trouble is, I don't want the entire file in memory at once (it could be many gigabytes in size) and I don't want the file read more than once, due to speed issues. I want the file cached only sufficiently to ensure that both threads can work.For example, suppose at some point in time, thread A had read 100k of the file, but thread B had only read 20k of the file. The portion of the file between 20k and 100k should be cached; but then progressively forgotten as thread B catches up. Then again, if thread B is too slow, we might still end up with hundreds of megabytes being cached.Maybe thread A should be made to wait while thread B catches up. Maybe the ReadByte() function of the stream should block for a while if one of the threads is too far behind?

friend of mine has no HTML knowledge so I'm attempting to write a program that replaces certain parts of a html file to suit his needs.I've edited the HTML file and marked certain parts with "tags" like this:
#IMAGEURL1# I have a textbox where he can copy + paste an image URL and hopefully the #IMAGEURL1# is replaced with the contents of the textbox.
So can someone please enlighten me to-as how to open a HTML file (there's no textbox to display the contents just yet, I'll add one if needed), find the specified text and then replace it with whats in a textbox.

I am trying to import a TAB (NOt comma) delimited text file into a DataGridView. The following code works fine if I have a comma separated file. All I have to do is change the FMT to "Delimited".It just does not work with FMT=TabDelimited. All columns are read into single datatable column. The text file is ANSI text and I have double checked to make sure Tabs are tabs and not spaces, even exported a sample Tab Delimited file from Excel.Can this even be done using Text Driver? [code]

I am writing a program that uses several textboxes that a user will fill in and then click the add button to add the data into the datagrid. There is no backend database or anything. Just seeing the data in the program only.
What I want to do is then export this data from the datagrid into a file, preferably excel.
I've done copying textbox data into txt files but I can't find a method to copy datagrid data into a file.

I have just recently been using VB 2010 after using VB5. I have noticed a lot of changes. The problem I have is that I wish to open and save text files to and from arrays in the background. I've attached what I would do in VB5. I have searched around, but all the examples I find use a Textbox instead of an array. Can anyone show me how I can do this with VB 2010?

I got a log file (Log.txt) a timer and a RichTextBox1.Text The timer is opening the log file again and again every milisecond here the code:

Okay that keeps the track of my log file inside my richtextbox , but there is a big problem there. My richtextbox slows down hard if the log file gets too big.. Sometimes it kicks me out of the program and in taskbar it says Program Not Responding..
I wanted to know if there is a method to read a bigger Log file with out having such issues. (It mostly happens when log file goes over 13000 characters)
