i`m trying to create a capture window but when i copy paste the following code from msdn i got this error about hWndC ("Declaration expected"). What`s wrong?
hWndC = capCreateCaptureWindow (
(LPSTR) "My Capture Window", // window name if pop-up
WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE, // window style
[Code].....
Basically i`m trying to write a program to use my webcam via visual basic 2008.
I am trying to create a Button via code to sit ontop of a Capture Window resaving a live image from a WebCam.How do I setup a Capture Window a Parant to a Button?
I have a command line app that periodically crashes. When it crashes it does so displaying only 'hit any key to continue' in a command window. My goal if I see that the command window shows 'hit any key to continue', I then restart an associated service and life is good. So I put my google hat on and reveal that I can capture whats going on in a command window. I come up with the following code
Public Function GetAppResults() As String Dim PSI As New ProcessStartInfo() Dim P As Process
[code]....
The code works as it should but my application never exits, this apps need to continuously run - so I never can capture whats going on in the command window. Its almost like I need to do a realtime capture of whats going on in that command window. I was thinking that I may want to switch approaches and capture whats going on in the command prompt periodically but that sounds messier and I'm not sure if its possible.
I found that code somewhere and I find it quite useful but I would like to find a way to make it work so it capture only the given window target. Maybe with a processID or Window Name. Even if that window is not active. I do not want to make that window active but want to get a screen capture like if I was doing Alt+PrintScreen on it.
I have a vb form with a webbrowser control on it.my application connects to a website that my company uses to view footage.the problem is that everytime you click on a link on the website it opens up a new window, which basically defeats the whole purpose of me having a browser on my form.
i need to capture the new window and enter the URL of the new window into my browser.
I am using the SetWindowPos to set a window to the front to capture it (not a window of my own application). However, this works from time to time & that is what worries me.
My declaration:
[Code]....
This does work, if just, let's say have forms open, but it doesn't when I minimize everything & get to the desktop (with that taskbar button). It also returns 1400 error a lot, even with running as administrator.
was checking out the webcam software by Jarno BurgerSourceFiles:It works perfectly fine as it is, but when I created a new start form and created a button to activate the video window, it doesnt work anymore. A blank screen is displayed instead
I did a search on capturing screen shots in vb.net amd I was wondering if there is a straight forward way to capture the active window? Or do I need to first get the handle of the active window, get the position and size and then capture it? I do not want to use any type of sendkeys method or use the clipboard. I want to save it to jpg format.
How to capture when a user switched application windows. Basically what i want to do is for example is when EVER a user works inside Microsoft Word i want the CAP lock to be turned on. When they leave Microsoft word's app window and select a new app the CAPS button would turn off. Then when they return back to Word caps turns back on. I have code I found in another post on how to turn CAPS on, now i just don't now how to automatically capture application switches running all the time. My idea is to create a small app that can be minimized to the system tray then let it run and capture all thE app changes.
it's a windows form program, what am i trying to do is, when i press ctrl+v (yes pasting) in other program, whether it be notepad or a text box, something also happens in my program.
So i need to capture the keypress event when my form does not have the focus.I would hate to create a windows service for this, but if there is no other way i might have to do it.
I need help to capture the Url of my open internet explorer window.... I need it to go into the URL variable that i have created. Can i do this if so how? Whatever you come up with can you explain it for me as ive only just started and want to understand it.Here is a copy of my code so far:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim Webbrowser1 As Object Dim URL As String
I would like to find out if it is possible to read or capture the name of control the mouse is hovering over on any window. I have tried to research it and maybe using win32 or looking for accessibility info I'd like to be able to have similar functionality in my app as the inspect32 application that Microsoft has at sysinternals that can do this, I want to know if a user hovers over a control (in any window or part of the Windows O.S.) for a while, if longer than a certain time then capture that..
I would like to know if the .NET framework gives you a way to retrive the littles thumbnails Windows XP+ generates when you alt+tab. The application I try to make should be able to get a window capture (ALT+PrtScr) of another Window that is not necessary Active and could be partially or completly hidden behind another one. I tried the codes found there [URL] altprintscreen with no success in the case the window I'm trying to capture is not visible.
I'm working on a UNO (Msn-based) online gaming tool - you know the card game. It's the second version with more features for UNO fans. I would like to get the screenshot function to work.
It's just as simple as this: The UNO main window The screenshot viewer shows the screenshot of the active window (which appears by clicking on "Screenshot"): (This form is named as "Screenshot", the Picture Box "myPictureBox")
My question is, which code do I need to bind these functions. I think the pictures are describing this good enough. (The "save screenshot"-button is ToolStripButton1, the button for making screenshot is ToolStripButton10).
I am using an embedded webbrowser control to access a third-party website, populate the username and password boxes on their front page, and login. The problem I have is that the resulting window that the site returns to me is in the form of a new window. What I want to do is capture this window and all it's session/cookie data in to the original webbrowser control, as even if I direct the original window to the same resulting url, some kind of authentication data is missing and the site tells me I have logged out, even though the popup window works fine. I need that page in the original control so that I can continue to access it programmatically, and I don't really want to get in to the complication of accessing the new window, as I expect I'll have to delve in to the api or something.
I used to use windwos.form.webbrowser along with cast of its activeXinstance to shdocvw's webbrwoser to get the newwindows event to force new windows in another tab instead of popup. also capture right click new window requests to another instance of browser in another tab but keeping the security context
I was wondering if it is possible in VB8 to create a GUI that over-lays over a full-screen application (IE, a movie full screen, games or something that takes over the entire screen)
What I want to know is it possible to be watching a movie and click a button and without minimizing or losing focus on the movie a GUI is displayed. This could be handy in many ways to me to create say.. a clock that I can display so I don't have to minimize etc. to check.
I don't want to interact with the GUI, just display it!
I'm creating window application with VB.NET and Access2003.the problem is : how do i store the connection string in the app.config file that include the application.startup path? Dim connectionString As String = "Provider=Microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0;data source=" + Application.StartupPath + "db1.mdb;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=hello"
i connect it in each form but i don want this as i want to change it in one place.
I've a little program that has got tabControl with 2 tabs - "results" and "log". My idea was that when an error occurs the tab will switch automatically on tbLog to show what the problem was. Most arguably the problem is in threading. This is the code that..I use:
Dim thread As New Thread(AddressOf ExecuteQuery) thread.Start()
ExecuteQuery executes the query and I'm making an error deliberately to see if I'll be automatically switched to the log tab which is in Try-EndTry procedure:
tbGrid.SelectedTab = tbGrid.TabPages(1)
The program indeed switches to tabLog (which is number 1) but I don't see any controls on it (txtLog), then when I'm trying to switch tabs a couple of times I get "Error creating window handle in a thread". I read other forum threads about it where people as how many controls do they have in their programs but my program does not exceed 70 controls on a form.
The programing I am creating requires window captions for SendKeys. Some windows hide their captions and I want to be able to use Spy++ or create my own way of getting the caption. All I want from Spy++ is Finder Tool, is there anyway of just taking that from Spy++ or how would I go about creating it?
I am using a Thread object to perform a function. This function performs a task and displays its progress in the gridview (like adding rows changing text etc )
The reason I am using a thread for this function is that there is a cancel button on the form. While the task is in progress, user can click on cancel to abort it.
Private Sub BtnStart_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnStart.Click m_Thread = New System.Threading.Thread(AddressOf myfunction) m_Thread.Start() End Sub
The function works fine and thread is completed. But calling any method of datagridview after thread is completed ( outside the worker thread ) generates an error- "Error creating window handle".
That's probably because i am not using the invoke method of datagridview for calling its methods or readingwriting properties Do i have to create separate delegates for all the methods properties used in the function ( worker thread)
I am trying to create a simple parent-child form in VB2010. I use a datagridview for each table/datasource and each is bound to the paretn/child table and each table grid fills correctly. What I want is the parent-child relation to enforce filling the child table with only rows that fulfill the current row on the parent. I have created a DataRelation in the form load, but it will not permit a relation between tables in 2 different datasets. If I attempt to place both tables in a single dataset and define the PK-FK relation in the SQL Serve,r I cannot create 2 separate datagrids from the same dataset.
I seem to have some finger trouble creating a new application, here is what I am trying to do: I am trying to create a new solution and under the solution an exe (console project and a set up / deployment project. I have done this in the past and cannot see to do that any more.
Steps: 1. Create a new solution, the solution show in the solution explorer (with 0 projects) 2. Using "add" I create a console application (under the solution) and it shows a module etc. So far fine. 3. At this point the solution explorer windows only shows the console project and the solution itself (that used to show on the top) is gone. Now I am not able to add another project to my solution. I close my screen and then try to open the solution again. It comes up with the console project.
I'm in the process of converting a VB6.0 application to VB.Net (2008 Express). I have a MDI parent form, I'll call mdiBackground, and 4 MDI child forms, frmStatus, frmShow, frmQwerty, and frmSentence.The layout is as follows:mdibackground - has the menus at top and is a container for the child forms.frmSentence - appears at the top frmShow & frmQwerty - appear at the left and when one is closed the other one is in the same position.frmStatus - appears at the right, it has buttons which control when frmShow and frmQwerty are to appear I have a couple of regular forms that act as dialog forms. The Me.Close() works fine on these.
So I am hacking together an app which listens to traffic using SharpPcap library, it reconstructs the packets from sessions using the code from TpcRcon.
Listening and reconstructing part work on their own . What I want is on each packet arrival main window gets an event so it can display the packet , and when session is reconstructed display a complete packet (I am interested in HTTP ones) . -That is where it breaks with weird symptoms: for example right now it does not stop on invoking stop listening method - the sharppcap library function hangs there forever waiting on this line of code : m_pcapThreadEvent.WaitOne();//wait for the 'stopped' signal from thread
I also had it not working and crashing in sharppcap function because I had omitted one parameter in form delegate- which makes no sense, because form delegate does not deal with packet capture at all and only reacts on "New Packet" event from my "Listener" class (which is only there to notify main form)
My app starts as module main instancing class "Listener". MainForm has it registered as friend with event and handles even "New Packet"
Main Form: Private Sub uiListenStart_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btListenStart.Click aLogger.AddMessage("Started Listening")
We have a VB 2008 Windows application that is deployed on several hundred computers. For some strange reason only 2 computers out of the hundreds are experiencing the "Error creating Window handle" error. It is happening more consistantly on one machine than the other. Any idea what might be causing annoying error on such a limited basis? (It's a Windows XP machine that it is happening on. That's all the info I know regarding the machine currently.)
