Mar 27, 2012I created a lock screen program in Visual Basic 2010.I have set the form properties to "TopMost" since it is essential that no one can bypass the lock screen and enter the desktop without typing in a Pre-selected password.But when ever a notification ( such as Virus guard alerts, Windows Update alerts etc ) pop up the taskbar is revealed even though i have set the window to "TopMost" How can i stop this from happening.I want my window to be at a high priority level so that nothing can appear above it.

Feb 9, 2009I have a command line app that periodically crashes. When it crashes it does so displaying only 'hit any key to continue' in a command window. My goal if I see that the command window shows 'hit any key to continue', I then restart an associated service and life is good. So I put my google hat on and reveal that I can capture whats going on in a command window. I come up with the following code

The code works as it should but my application never exits, this apps need to continuously run - so I never can capture whats going on in the command window. Its almost like I need to do a realtime capture of whats going on in that command window. I was thinking that I may want to switch approaches and capture whats going on in the command prompt periodically but that sounds messier and I'm not sure if its possible.

Even if that window is not active. I do not want to make that window active but want to get a screen capture like if I was doing Alt+PrintScreen on it.

Capture New Window Event From Browser?
Apr 9, 2010I have a vb form with a webbrowser control on it.my application connects to a website that my company uses to view footage.the problem is that everytime you click on a link on the website it opens up a new window, which basically defeats the whole purpose of me having a browser on my form.
i need to capture the new window and enter the URL of the new window into my browser.

This does work, if just, let's say have forms open, but it doesn't when I minimize everything & get to the desktop (with that taskbar button). It also returns 1400 error a lot, even with running as administrator.

Feb 6, 2009How to capture when a user switched application windows. Basically what i want to do is for example is when EVER a user works inside Microsoft Word i want the CAP lock to be turned on. When they leave Microsoft word's app window and select a new app the CAPS button would turn off. Then when they return back to Word caps turns back on. I have code I found in another post on how to turn CAPS on, now i just don't now how to automatically capture application switches running all the time. My idea is to create a small app that can be minimized to the system tray then let it run and capture all thE app changes.

It's just as simple as this: The UNO main window
The screenshot viewer shows the screenshot of the active window (which appears by clicking on "Screenshot"): (This form is named as "Screenshot", the Picture Box "myPictureBox")
My question is, which code do I need to bind these functions. I think the pictures are describing this good enough. (The "save screenshot"-button is ToolStripButton1, the button for making screenshot is ToolStripButton10).
Webbrowser Control - Capture Popup - Site Returns In The Form Of A New Window
Mar 10, 2006I am using an embedded webbrowser control to access a third-party website, populate the username and password boxes on their front page, and login. The problem I have is that the resulting window that the site returns to me is in the form of a new window. What I want to do is capture this window and all it's session/cookie data in to the original webbrowser control, as even if I direct the original window to the same resulting url, some kind of authentication data is missing and the site tells me I have logged out, even though the popup window works fine. I need that page in the original control so that I can continue to access it programmatically, and I don't really want to get in to the complication of accessing the new window, as I expect I'll have to delve in to the api or something.

Mar 20, 2010I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.

I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?

Apr 24, 2010I have a datagridview on a form. I have the .selectionmode set to FullRowSelect.
I use the datagridview.select to put the focus on the form. Pressing up/down arrows they navigate through the results.
How do I capture the enter button being pressed on the current row they have highlighted?
What I will do is take the ID field of that row, I just need to know how to capture the enter button being pressed in that datagridview.

Feb 26, 2009With my Application (vb.net) I am trying to scan Excel files some of which have ActiveX Components.
When running my Application, I am getting a pup-up window in Windows Vista Environment with Office-2007 having button OK and Cancel button to proceed.
But my problem is the scanning is not proceeding even after I keep on pressing the OK button. Now I want to continue with my application while pressing the Cancel button; i.e. just to skip the file. Is it possible to capture the response from the cancel button? (As this is a message box from another application, i.e. either from Vista or Office-2007, I'm not sure).

Apr 23, 2010I have a form containing a date textbox and a submit button and a close window button. The date textbox onblur calls a javascript function which checks for date validation and some other logic and displays some alert messages. The date on the textbox is always selected and onfocus. My problem is when I try to click the close window button with/without changing the date the alert messages from the onblur logic are displaying and I am unable to close the window. I tried using onchange instead of onblur but onchange too works when a control looses focus. it works fine when I donot change the date but when I change the date and hit the close window button it too displays the alert messages and the window does not close. Please suggest me what will be my best option.

What I want to know is it possible to be watching a movie and click a button and without minimizing or losing focus on the movie a GUI is displayed. This could be handy in many ways to me to create say.. a clock that I can display so I don't have to minimize etc. to check.
I don't want to interact with the GUI, just display it!
