Credit Card Project Program?
Feb 25, 2009I am working on a Credit Card Project Program. Where you can create an account by typing in an account number which then starts you out with a $1,000 credit limit and balance.I have most of all the programming done for the project. Except for the updating of the current balance when charges are made and I'm having a problem with the interest which works but only shows you the interest fee when you calculate and not the interest fee + balance due. But I wont worry about that now.
What is the method of doing this. Can I write a new function that will update the balance available based on the charges or payments made? Or can I somehow program that into the current functions?

May 18, 2009I've got a site using .netCART. It's running fine in production with Windows Server 2003 and .NET 2.0. On the new server (Windows Server 2008) everything is working except for credit card decryption in the store admin. No errors are being sent, no exceptions thrown, just the encrypted string being output to the screen instead of a decrypted credit card number.

Itemlists is a global lists i retrieved from database, everything looks fine to me but when i run this program, I found that the threads are inserting one records 9 times into the database(I have 9 threads in total), which makes me think that maybe i need to specifically assign 1/9 of a list to each thread? Is there another way to do it which doesn't require the splitting of the list, if not , how do i split it then assign?

May 19, 2011Im a college student and this is my first programming class, i am having extremely diffcult time with arrays and sequential file processing. Im not asking for the whole program, just something to get me started and hints along as i progress with it. Please help me get started on my program, its due in 2 days.
Here are the requirements....
1. The program must input any number of individual�s last and first names using two separate textboxes.
2. The array of names must be sorted by the last name using a bubble sort. You must code the sort.
3. The program must be able to recall the names from the file and add to the existing list of names so that more names can be added to, sorted, and written back to the file in sorted order.
4. Sort in ascending order: A to Z
5. All names must be displayed in a listbox in sorted order when the user wishes to see them.
6. In the listbox the last and first names must be separated by a comma and a space. Example: Smith, Mary
7. The user must be able to search for a name in the array, using the binary search algorithm. You must code the search.
8. Do not use module-level variables. Instead you may choose to use Static.
9. The program must be designed using Visual Basic 2008
Capture Raw Signal From WiFi Card As Would A Sound Card
May 9, 2012Is it possible to capture the raw signal from a WiFi card in the same way you can capture the signal from a sound card? (I already found code for working with a sound card and for drawing spectrograms) I'm wondering because it would make a cool radio-type project. I'd prefer a solution that integerates well with .net (VB or C#).My basic goal is to capture the ambient radio waves and build a primative "telescope" of sorts. Using the built in computer hardware is just the easiest way to accomplish this. If you have any other suggestions about how to accomplish this goal in a different way please post it as an answer also.

Here is the spec:
The client is prompted for their name and a personal reference number. If the application is successful then this number becomes the loan agreement reference number. If the applicant has a credit rating of 14 or more points the application is rejected. If the credit rating is less than 14 points then the client is prompted for the loan period (must be equal to 12, 24 or 36 months) and the amount required.
The cost of the loan is 6% if required over 12 months and 8% if over 24 months and 12% over 36 months. This is added to the loan. The applicant's net monthly income and total monthly outgoings are taken into account. If the monthly repayment is more than 25% of disposable income (net income outgoings), then the application is rejected. If the repayment is less than or equal to 25% then the loan is granted and a form is produced and printed with the relevant information, including the loan and repayment amounts.

This method take a minute or two, and then redirects to another page. This has been rewritten so that it now runs in the background and redirects to another page whilst the thread which do_job is on continues. - This works fine. In a button_click event in a default.aspx page :

So what i want to happen is - the longest time that do_job takes is the longest time of the longest job (30 seconds), rather than - 30 seconds x number of jobs = time it takes at the moment.
As i'm already using a delegate to detact the process from the ui, can anyone provide any advice/best practice on how i should rearrange my do_job method so that it can handle concurrent tasks to further boost the overall speed.
