I am looking for a solution to implement Credit Card processing to a POS system I have written. I have been coding VB for about 7 years but never had a need to process credit cards.
I have an add-in application running in Outlook that pops up a form to tell the user something is being processed. The add-in is written in vb. net.The information form has an animated gif on it which should animate as the rest of the program is processing however it stops animating. The code is as follows:[code]
I have a Credit Card Number in an XML Message and I want to use a regex to find the Credit Card Number and encrypt it. All numbers are 16 characters long and they are not always in the same place in the xml, so basically I think I just need to find a string that is 16 characters and decrypt it, but I am not sure how.
I am working on a Credit Card Project Program. Where you can create an account by typing in an account number which then starts you out with a $1,000 credit limit and balance.I have most of all the programming done for the project. Except for the updating of the current balance when charges are made and I'm having a problem with the interest which works but only shows you the interest fee when you calculate and not the interest fee + balance due. But I wont worry about that now.
What is the method of doing this. Can I write a new function that will update the balance available based on the charges or payments made? Or can I somehow program that into the current functions?
[URL] I am using the magtek Intellistripe 65 insert card reader and i want to connect the device thru my POS application developed in .NET. I have also tried the sample VB code provided by magtek. But i am not able to access the device.
I just joined because I'm a newb/student in VB. Currently taking a VB course but just don't understand why this is giving me a problem. If anyone can explain/help it would be great. The problem lies with the "red" 1 that is highlighted. I don't understand what is wrong with it. PS: this is statement applies to the LUHN method for credit card verification.
I need to make a app that verifies a five digit credit card number. The check digit is 5th and is found by multiplying the 2nd and 4th digit. Heres my current
Dim strInput As String Dim strOutput As String Dim intSumOfDigits As Integer
I have a text box on a form. It is a masked text box that shows in the format XX/XX.It is used for the expiry date of a credit card. What I need to do is how to take a value like 08/11 which means August, 2011 and check that it is in the future. For example something like 08/09 would be last year and hence would be invalid. Is there any way to take this string and check?
What is the proper way to call up a form and wait until it receives a replay before moving onto the next code step? [Code] Now lf is the login form that waits for the users password and then, depending on if its correct or not when they hit OK it should send back a true or false (isLogedIn). Currently i do not know how to have the code wait until it receives something from the login form before moving onto the next code.
If i use my old code here:
Do Until isLogedIn = True isLogedIn = isLogedIn intX = intX + 1 Loop
It never ends if the user puts in a false login password so it just keeps waiting.
I got most part correctly but the only part isnt working right is when the last 5th digit match the sum number at the last number.
Private Sub btnVerify_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnVerify.Click Dim strCardNum As String Dim strSumNum As String
I've got a site using .netCART. It's running fine in production with Windows Server 2003 and .NET 2.0. On the new server (Windows Server 2008) everything is working except for credit card decryption in the store admin. No errors are being sent, no exceptions thrown, just the encrypted string being output to the screen instead of a decrypted credit card number.
Dim strCCEncrypt As String strCCEncrypt = Trim(DataRow.Item("CreditCard")) strCCEncrypt = tools.Decrypt(strCCEncrypt) 'tools is a .netCART utility
I just finished this application where you enter a five-digit credit card number, with the fifth digit being the check digit. everything seems to work except, I can't seem to get it to determine that any number is "valid". Every 5-digit combination that I enter returns "The credit card number is not valid". Im using visual basic 2008 express
Im trying to show animated gif during busy process or loading. but it isn;t working rite. the gif stops to animate when loading instead and animates only when no loading is n progress. what i have done is to show formB from the formA. i load the gif into the picbox in formA and crete a new thread which will be opening another formB.
dim loadThread As Threading.Thread LoadingGif() loadThread = New Threading.Thread(AddressOf loadingForm) loadThread.Start(formB)
but the gif doesn;t move at all unless another form is displayed.
I have a strange issue when binding a combobox in a WPF window.I am loading a List object, to populate the combobox, through it's .ItemsSource, on Window Load, however, it does not populate. At least, not until the arrow is clicked on. Once the arrow is clicked on, the window freezes up, and after a minute or so, the 4000+ records are displayed in it.Now, the list gets loaded, however, when I click on the combobox it takes awhile for it to render, so how can I show a waitcursor while it is rendering the list? Here's the Xaml for it:
Private Sub CreateTask_Loaded(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs) Handles Me.Loaded Using New WaitCursor _LA.Show() Me.tOrder.ItemsSource = GetOrderList()
I have a form with a datagridview that show a list of employees. Right next to the datagridview, I have a small set of textbox containing employee information (name, phone, etc) which is my "details section". I have a tableadapter that populate the datagridview, this is working well. Now, what I want is to when I select a row in the datagridview, the details of the employee shows up in the details section.
I tried to bind textboxes to the correct column. It works, but if I specify the datatable a query that will get this employee info, the data of the datagridview change to be the only row in it. I want the list to be showing all results and then the details secion giving only information on the selected employee. Do I need two dataset for this?
I have an app with 4 buttons that each generate a random number into textbox, before this number is entered i would like to have a progress bar at the bottom, well show that its processing basically.
I saw the other poster with his issue but I didn't want to hijack his thread so i'll start a new one.I'm trying to add an animated Gif to my form and when I run it I just get the following error.
A generic error occurred in GDI+I've tried several animated gifs and they all do it.
I've just got a picturebox on the form. and the following code
In Form1 there are a lot of boxes like checkbox, label....I want to show a processing message for opening serial port after program running. So I created Form2 specifically showing "Opening Port...". So in Form1_Load() I used Form2.Show(). However this message showed behind of Form1. I think this was executed before all the other tool boxes loading. So where should I put Form2.Show()?
How I can add a flash animated button to my visual basic express edition form? I downloaded a flash animated button already but I dont know how to add it to my form so it act like an animated button on a website.
I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..
I want to hide or show Drill down Details section in crystal report while runtime. Maybe a checkbox from a from a form or soemthing like that. How can i do that.
Ive been trying to figure out what report I should use as it appears I have crystal reports built in and also have Microsoft Report Viewer in this VB 2008.What I need to do is give the user a list of names and when a ame gets clicked it will show all the details in a report.I have loaded a ListView Control with the names from my database and this is letting the user pick a report so I can get the name and ID number of the record to show this way and just need to figure out how to get that record onto a report and what report to use?Ive done similar in VB6 but have never looked at .Net. The data is comming from an access database.
I just learned some basics of multi threading in VB.net recently as I came across processing a large List of records and inserting them into SQL database one by one.
I have code look like this:
Private Sub btnLoadNow_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnLoadNow.Click
Dim autoLoad1 As New Thread(AddressOf AutoLoad) autoLoad1.Start()
[CODE]...
Itemlists is a global lists i retrieved from database, everything looks fine to me but when i run this program, I found that the threads are inserting one records 9 times into the database(I have 9 threads in total), which makes me think that maybe i need to specifically assign 1/9 of a list to each thread? Is there another way to do it which doesn't require the splitting of the list, if not , how do i split it then assign?

After several hours of searching the internet I could not find any Report Viewer tutorials that show a project that contains a parent/child report. I'm using rdlc report files.I can create a single report but we want to create a report that shows shows invoice header information followed by the invoice details followed by the next invoice header and details and so on.
If a sample project is not available, do you know of an online tutorial that shows how to do it?I saw something that might help on gotreportviewer.com about subreports, but it's in C# and not VB.Net so I could not figure out how it works.
