I have a DataGridView that is being populated. What I'm trying to accomplish is when I select like 3 rows I click a button and it gives me the "row numbers" for those three rows.
View 3 RepliesI have created a bound DataGridView and then added an unbound checkbox (name=select) for selecting multiple rows. The problem I'm having is the row doesn't actually get selected when I set .selected to true which I'm doing in the CellValueChanged event. When I trace it the code is properly executed but the row is not highlighted when the checkbox is checked and consequently not selected in the grid.There is no mouse or keyboard and the input device is a USB button panel which we built.

In my datagrid, i added a checkbox column, and what i want to do is be able to change the value of one column (in as many rows that are selected) to a certain value. Like from a combo box is it possible to have a combobox in a messagebox? or do you have to create a new form?

I need to find rows in resultsets that have every column without null.these resultsets got variable number of columns.currently, the only way that I can think of is creating a view on each resultset and filter this way:

and then in a storeproc/function or .net code(c# / vb.net) loop through all rows / columns and flag or remove every row that got any null?

Two quick questions about datagridviews... I have an unbound dgv and I'm trying to do some simple formatting but sadly my .net knowledge is limited at best. I'm trying to make a balance sheet and I need to do two things:
1. How can I set row(d) to sum row(a:c) for each column (for multiple years of financials)
2. Is there anyway to not only make a row readonly, but make in unselectable (to skip totaled rows)?
I have an access table that I'm loading into a dataset, then I'm binding the dataset to a bindingsource. The bindingsource is the datasource for a datagridview. I can use a command builder to update the entire table, but I need to update all the rows (or changed rows) in specific columns. I have a column called "dPrint" which is Boolean. I'm not sure how to use the bindingsource as my datasource in an Update Command. I've tried this:

In my application I have a form which displays a data grid view with some info I get through XML from a web server. The data grid view have as first column a Check Box colum. The second column have the information I get into a variable (from cells), one by one, to pass it to the sub with the XML command.
What I want to do is to be able to select all the rows and send the cell info of the second row (only for the selected rows) to my sub which will execute once then send the second cell info and execute the sub and so on until all the loop is complete. Currently my code works only if I delete one row at a time (sending the XML code will delete the info in the web server and update the datagridview which in return will remove the item).

I am new to working with XML and have a question. I can recover any one value from an XML file but how do I recover 2 values from the same file and align them into a column format.
This is what I have been doing so far:

I need to filter a measurements table that consists of 63 measurement objects that may or may not be tested more then once. The entries are put in a Batch table on a SQL server in the following fashion:
ID: | Serie | Test object | Min Amps | Max Amps | OK?
DateTime| String | Integer | Double | Double | Boolean
So there may be multiple entries in my database with the same series and testobject number but with (slightly) different results.
Currently I just select: SELECT * FROM Measurements WHERE Serie = 'XXXX' and use a datareader object to fill a datatable and then I let loose a routine on it that will either: Get the last result that produced a good measurement, so OK = 1 and max ID. Or the last result that produced a bad measurement if there are no good ones. I then end up with a list of 63 either good or bad measurement objects with the last good result, and if there isn't one then the last bad result.
Now I know that SQL is quite powerfull and I suppose that it must be possible to directly query for these results without a programatical routine re-filtering the results. I suppose it's like Selecting within a select statement..
I am looking for a howto or someone expert in ADO.NET who can explain me how to properly solve the following scenario:I have two datatables in a dataset:
ParentTable (ParentID, Name) for user data ChildTable (ParentID, ActivityID, ...) for schedule data
Tables are linked together at the database level by ParentID which is an Identity column in ParentTable.
Both tables are data bound to a separate DataGridView on the GUI. There supposed to be a "1 parent/N children" relationship between the tables, meaning if I create a new entry in the ParentTable (a new user) I get a clean DataGrid in the child grid to type schedule data for the user. So I setup two DataAdapters for each table to fill their result into a DataSet. I also set up a DataRelation object and assign it to the DataSet to link the two tables by their ParentID columns. Also when I add a row into the ChildTable via DataGrid I use SetParentRow to set the parent row.

The only way i can do this at the moment is by setting the AutoGenerateSelectButton property to True, but this adds a column to the grid with a crude "select" hyperlink and only selects the row if the word "Select" is cliked on.
