I am trying to copy a table from a network database to a local database. I used DAO and could check if the network table existed using a function that tried to assign a TableDef object to the table in question. If there was no error then I assumed that the table existed and the function returned true...Or it would error out and return false.I could then proceed with the copy or not as the case may be.I am converting the code to ADO.net and need to know how to check for a table. Anyone know how to copy a table from one database to another? I know the statement 'INSERT INTO Table1 SELECT * FROM Table2' but I want to copy from one database to another from a server to a PC. Of course, I could do a select statement for all the records and use a loop to insert them one by one, but surely there is an easier way.

I have created an application using Visual Basic .NET, the application use an access data base which must be shared in server of a local network. The problem is when I run the application in a client machine (connected to the network) I can't connect to the data base.In the same machine the connection work which it's not the case when I change the location of the base to: Data Source="serverIPAdress/DataBase.mdb"

I am working on a project based on networking. My problem is that database on server (time to time updated by clients Application) is available in shared folder sometime any client delete that database file from shared folder then project stopped working. So give me process for accomplish this problem is there any way through which is database on server work invisibly and client unable to delete that file. I tried read only attribute on shared folder then my project unable to insert record in that database file.

I do not know much of datasets. I have created a local database with a table as per img 1 attached, and I use them in a simple drop down selector as per img 2. But I get the message as per img 3 , and I played around with the dataset, removing teh primarkey, etc.

I'm using VB studio express 2008. I have created a combo box which the user uses to search a client, how do i program it so that when the client is highlited in the combo box it will show in a listbox with all the details of this client wich has been added previously to the database.

I have 2 databases that I am working with. One is a compant customer database and the other is my personal call log. Now I am creating a front end for the Call Log. I was updating my customer list by Importing 2 tables from the customer database, a series of queries would erase all of my info, take all the data from the imported tables and move it into mine then erase the imported tables.
Im trying to accomplish the same in my VB frontend. I can connect and fill datasets from the customer database. I can erase my tables. How do I take all of this data from the newly created dataset and move it over to my empty tables?

I'm working with the project that require save all user personal information in one table when they login my system. The problem is too many users login my system per day ( or one user can login/out many time per day), it's very hard to manage. So, I want to add one more function which can specify one user information. My solution is create a text box and a find button to filter the user whose name in text box and copy to other table after that show that table, the problem is I don't know how to do that.
I also try the code which show below, but with that way I can't achieve my require[code]...
Another question is how can I delete all information in a table in database?

I have a table I created in SQL Server Management Studio. I had to create it there because I needed to use a function for an alpha-numeric ID column that increments itself. I then exported the table, but had to use my local server. Now, in visual studio, I have the local server connection that contains the table I want to copy to a connection for a remote server. I can right-click and select 'Copy', but I can't right-click and 'Paste' into the database I need.

[Code] my issue is that now i need two cases, first i need a query that will return the date created and modified of the table and i also need to know if its possible to query a list of table names in the database ordered by date created but that have a certain thing in their names. for example the database contains the following tables: [Code] and what i need the query to return is the tables that contain "Data", settings and employees are for the other functions of the program. so the query should return the 4 data tables in order of date created. but i have no idea how to go about doing that in the query, does anyone know how this is done?

I want to move my programs and the database to another computer and hard-disks. It looks to me as though I nearly have to re-create the controls and rewrite some of the code to make it so the programs still work after the move. At least with ODBC all I would change was the DSN definitions external to the programs. Is there an easy way to move or rename a database without loads of work?

Is it possible that multiple vb.net programs, which are installed in remote computers or client computers in the same network, connect to this database simultaneously?
