VB2005 - DataGridViewMaybe not a quirk, maybe more of my misunderstanding of how resizing works. But here is what i want to do. I want to display a dataset to the user in a ataGridView. By default the columns should be autosized to all cells including the headerThat's the default view but the user should be able
I want all the contents both in columns and rows to auto resize its length depending on the length of text that is to appear in the cell...but it seems I cant get the idea on how to properly use the auto size method.
Best way to describe this is with an example:Create a new form, stick a DataGridView on itAnchor it to top, bottom, left, rightSet AutoSizeColumnsMode to FillAdd X columns. I added 7, in a grid size of 545, 227Run your project The grid is filled with the 7 columns, column headers all displaying nicely.
Maximise the form, same thing, all looks good. Restore the form. Column 6 is no longer correctly sized. Why? And any ideas how I fix it?
Dim row As Integer = 0 For row = 0 To pdgvDataGridView.RowCount - 1 pdgvDataGridView.Rows(row).Cells(0).Value = row + 1Next
it's to add auto number into first column of each row. The codes running well, but after the codes completed, the first column of each row remain empty.
I have a datagrid control in my winform application. It has nearly 30 columns. First 2 column are frozen and others can be views using scrollbars.
Its working fine.
I would like to add some functionality on it by allowing user to select a column from column list above and making the datagrid scroll to that column automatically.
So i would like to ask how could i make my datagrid to scroll to specified column automatically.
I've got a DataGridView that has a DataTable as it's Datasource. Whenever I sort a column and then edit a cell, after editing the column, the column autosorts so the recently edited cell is no longer in the viewable area. Is there any way to prevent this auto sort from happening and only sort when I click on the columns?
i need the code in vb.net for auto-resize of forms. for example i execute my project in a 14" monitor, the size of the form would be the same as the size of my monitor. now what i want to happen is if i execute my project on my other PC that has different resolution, the form would have the same size of it.
This time I wanna know how I can make that the TabControl Auto Resizes: Before I Press the "View-> Show Buttons" button in the Menubar. After I Press the "View-> Show buttons" button in the Menubar. What I mean is that i wanna after I hide the buttons the tabcontrol should fit with the Form, as shown in the above image.
Here is some code I wrote: ShowButtonMenu.Checked = not ShowButtonMenu.Checked = True If ShowButtonMenu.Checked = True Then button1.visible = true button2.visible = true else button1.visible = false button2.visible = false end if
i've made a program that fits my monitor, the resolution is 1280,1024. But i want to make it so that if someone else who has a different resolution can also use the program, is there any way to make the form (and the components inside it), auto resize to fit that persons resolution?
I have the code: Private Sub Child_form(ByVal frm As Form) frm = New Form1 frm.MdiParent = Me frm.Bounds = Me.Controls.OfType(Of MdiClient).First().ClientRectangle frm.Show() End Sub But I want auto resize child form when I resize tool in left corner.
Ive already tried searching regarding w/ my problems and unfortunately, I found nothing. Anyway, my form is automatically resized to full screen once it is started. here's my code:
I am writing a program that programmatically generates buttons based on database information. The buttons CANNOT be more than 75,75 in size. The problem is, if the text is longer than 9 characters, it moves the rest on to a second line. How can I make the font size automatically adjust to have larger text if it can, and if not, have smaller text to fit on one line
I am trying to figure the best way to programmatically re-size table column headers in ReportViewer.Basically, my current resolution is the following: ColumnWidth = Header Caption_CharacterCount * 0.32...Where 0.32 is an estimated width of a typical character using my current font size. The issue is that the width leaves a lot of whitespace for longer captions. The more characters a caption has, the more whitespace I end up with. The issue with estimating this way is that not all characters are the same width. A good example would the the "I" character, which takes up less screen width than the rest of the alphabet.[code]
I am using Visual Studio 2010 to build forms to access databases through DataGridViews. As these tables grow, it would be easier to resize the form to see the whole table. So I try to dock the DataGridView to the bottomand resize the form (The other controls are at the top of the form)This works for the width, but the height of the DataGridView does not adjust.
Public Class Form1 Dim gridHeight Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
I put in the iframe tag as follows in my .aspx page - Now what code do I put in javascript or vb.net to make this auto resizable depending on the size of the page that comes in?
After using a form as a replacement for MessageBox I do have a need to make it automatically adjust its size to fit its contents, is there any rule out there that we need to abide to when it comes to sizing the form acting as MessageBox?
I am thinking I could use a panel that will auto-resize and just resize the form according to the size of the panel but I am not sure that will work as I haven't tried it yet.
I have created program that contain listview and it's have many column, I want user can't resize column until horizontal Scroll appear... I want user only can resize same size as listview.
I am using datagridview in my windows app.Columns width is saved in sql datatable and it sets the columns after datasource is assigned Now in column width change event new values or the width are saved in the db.
MY problem is grid is showing approximate width not exact My dgv is also docked in a splitter container where splitter distance also dynamic
as every thing is dynamic but when form resizes the values of the column width changes
Assume the ListView1.Width is "30", then each column should be in event width of 10. Furthermore thereshould only be three columns becuase i have added only three columns. However, when i resize teh form, the listview controls shows an additional column.
How this was added? How do i fix this, so that when i add 3 columns it will have only three columns even when resized the form or not
I have constructed my database and I have used auto increment the ID's of each column. When I was testing and inserting data into my tables the auto increment of these column's of course incremented.
Now I am looking to start each individual Id column at 1 and not at the number where it is now.
I know it has something to do with using max value and +1. I have deleted the entire table and have tried everything to re-insert my data and start the ID's at 1, but I have had no luck.
Also to,
I know within Vb I can use a datagrid view and add there and it starts at the max value of the column +1, but when I have another form to add data within columns the column number is not in numerical order, How do include code within that seperate form to auto increment ID column numerically?
It seems that on clicking datagridview column header, the column will be automatically sorted based on the column type. I have a column showing some numbers. If column type is string, it sorts "1","20","3" into "1","20","3". If column type is double, it sorts into "1","3","20" which is the result that I want. However, there might be some erros in the numbers and error messages(text) will show in the cell instead of numbers. So I cannot set the column type as double. I want to ignore these error messages and sort all the numbers. How can I do this?
Also, I need to add some background colors to different rows in datagridview. So in the column header click event, I call the bkgColor Sub to achieve this. My question is that how can I override the sorting method in this event?
Private Sub DataGridView1_ColumnHeaderMouseClick(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs) Handles DataGridView1.ColumnHeaderMouseClick Try
