I am writing a program that programmatically generates buttons based on database information. The buttons CANNOT be more than 75,75 in size. The problem is, if the text is longer than 9 characters, it moves the rest on to a second line. How can I make the font size automatically adjust to have larger text if it can, and if not, have smaller text to fit on one line

View 1 RepliesAfter using a form as a replacement for MessageBox I do have a need to make it automatically adjust its size to fit its contents, is there any rule out there that we need to abide to when it comes to sizing the form acting as MessageBox?
I am thinking I could use a panel that will auto-resize and just resize the form according to the size of the panel but I am not sure that will work as I haven't tried it yet.
So I am playing around with the resize event. My form is 500 wide, my button.left is at 100. If I use:

The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?
I am reading in information from a CSV file displaying them into a DataGrid table and then relabiling the column headings accrodingly. I am then takeing the column headings and creating buttons. I am having difficulty with getting the buttons to auto size in order to fit all of the text that is being displayed within the button. I am able to create the new buttons and display them where I want but they are either way to large for the text that has been placed in them or to small.

I tried a combobox which seems to be very close to what i want. i set the dropdownstyle to dropdownlist so it looks like a button. but i cant seem to set a default text on the box and i dont want this text to be in the item list. also when i set the dropdownwidth to a value larger than the combobox width, it will align left.

i've made a program that fits my monitor, the resolution is 1280,1024. But i want to make it so that if someone else who has a different resolution can also use the program, is there any way to make the form (and the components inside it), auto resize to fit that persons resolution?

Main Form is my startup form and then 2 buttons on the form button 1 open form2 and main form hidden. button 2 closes and in the form 2 I have a textbox where I write some text and a button to save the text in a txt. File Once I've saved my text in txt. file so I click on a button that closes form2 and open main form My problem is that the button on the main form I should like to have button text is from the txt. file. And I do not know how I reload the button or form.
if I close the program and start it again, then my button text has change to what i write in txt file..
How can the button text of an OpenFileDialog be changed in the cleanest possible manner?
I've looked around and so far none of the solultions are all that simple and all require some fiddling with handles and things.
I have built a program in where I have to add and remove items from two listboxes. Listbox1 consists of a file which I have picked up on my C:/. Within this file, are different lines of items. At the end of the item line is a figure. I have a textbox in where when someone adds the an item from listbox1 to listbox2. On clicking the add button, it will add the total which was in the file. If I add more items, it will give me a running total of the items I have added to listbox2.
Now, I'm bamboozled in how to subtract the items from listbox2 with the remove button. So that when a user wants to remove an item that they currently placed in Listbox2. On pressing remove it will subtract the running total from the item which has been removed.. Here is my code in where I add products to the textbox. I have two other text boxes which I use to have these running totals. FYI, Textbox where value is outputted is Textbox5. Textbox6 is used to refresh the data and the other textbox is named 'Total'.

I have 6 Aboutboxes and of course 1 Form and Splashscreen.On the splash screen I have some lables and I can't seem to edit them, its like they don't exist, but there deffintly there.Another problem is that I cant resize the Form, and also 2 of the aboutboxes, won't resize either. I can resize it by holding shift + arrow, but this is highly unpractical and unnecessary, since it worked perfectly before.

When hover over sizing handles or form edge, cursor changes to double headed area but nothing moves. I can drag controls with mouse onto form. I successfully resized by pressing shift key and using keyboard arrow keys. I am using Toshiba Satellite L665D, Window 7 64x.
