View 2 Repliesi need the code in vb.net for auto-resize of forms. for example i execute my project in a 14" monitor, the size of the form would be the same as the size of my monitor. now what i want to happen is if i execute my project on my other PC that has different resolution, the form would have the same size of it.

View 6 RepliesI am writing a program that programmatically generates buttons based on database information. The buttons CANNOT be more than 75,75 in size. The problem is, if the text is longer than 9 characters, it moves the rest on to a second line. How can I make the font size automatically adjust to have larger text if it can, and if not, have smaller text to fit on one line
View 1 RepliesI like to know how to make the forms buttons and text and data... auto adjust when windows Maximize or minimaze..because when its big I can see everything fine and when I restore to a smaller window the buttons are on the bottom and cant see them... Basically I want everything to look in the same position whether its a small window or big or at least that it has scroolbars if I see it small.
View 2 Repliesi have a combo box with data from database,it can already show all the data in the list when you click the list down,what i want to do is when i type on the combo box it can show me all the available items based on the text that i type, is it possible?
View 3 RepliesThe First Question is not that important but you know that when you click on 'Favorites' in IE 8 a form thing comes up? Well I've been trying to do that for a long time but I can't figure out how. 2: In IE8 when you expand the window and collapse the window, the toolbars expand and collapse as well. How do I make my tool bars in my Web Browser do that. 3: I actually have a third question and that's, How do you make a horizantal scroll bar on your web browser control. (just like in Internet Explorer.)
View 4 Repliesim am working on a form with a few textboxes and buttons, the problem is when the form is resized or maximized the controls stay small. If someone could please show me how to resize the controls as the form is being resized.
View 2 RepliesI m new to windows forms. I dragged a label on the form and I would like to resize it but could not manage.
View 2 RepliesI'm currently very far into a project which has taken me several months. I have suddenly hit a snag. I have 6 Aboutboxes and of course 1 Form and Splashscreen.On the splash screen I have some lables and I can't seem to edit them, its like they don't exist, but there deffintly there.Another problem is that I cant resize the Form, and also 2 of the aboutboxes, won't resize either. I can resize it by holding shift + arrow, but this is highly unpractical and unnecessary, since it worked perfectly before.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a drawing application I'm currently using the forms background to draw on but when i draw something in the background and then resize it ,the contents in it get erased.Does anyone know a way to make it so the contents dont get erased when i resize it.

View 2 RepliesI have an application where some forms have a resolution of1280 x 800 (not ideal i know now)I have come across a few xp machines where resolution can be as low as 800 x 600 Is there an application or code that allows VB to resize all contents of a form depending on user machine or to change resolution of said machine during runtime?
View 9 RepliesVisual Studio 2010 Windows Applications Visual Basic-- not able to resize or move controls or form with my mouse in designer window. When hover over sizing handles or form edge, cursor changes to double headed area but nothing moves. I can drag controls with mouse onto form. I successfully resized by pressing shift key and using keyboard arrow keys. I am using Toshiba Satellite L665D, Window 7 64x.
View 3 RepliesI have a Form with a StatusStrip Component docked at the bottom.The form has fixed width and is not resizable.However the StatusStrip has a little 'resize triangle' at the right. (6 little dots)This gives the impression that the window is resizable.
View 1 RepliesI'm currently in the process of making a dynamic signature generator, and I want to make the user be able to see what he would get... So I thought of putting a browse button and allowing them to load up a background image for their signature, but I also want the picturebox to resize according to that image's size. I need them to be the same size because of the image's X, Y are needed for the signature.
So I'm using this code for that:
LocalMousePosition = PictureBox1.PointToClient(Cursor.Position)
xy.Text = ("X=" & LocalMousePosition.X & "," & "Y= " & LocalMousePosition.Y)
It works fine, but it only gets the coordinates for the picturebox, not the actuall image, so I think if the picturebox is the same size as the picturebox it would get them just fine..
i want to when in run time i resize the form manually all the controls in the form to resize automatically so how can i do that?
View 1 RepliesJust a quick question, I want to stop the end users from being able to resize a GUI that I've created.
$objForm = New-Object System.Windows.Forms.Form
$objForm.Text = "ADX v2.1.2.0"
$objForm.minimumSize = New-Object System.Drawing.Size(965,665)
[code].....
So I am playing around with the resize event. My form is 500 wide, my button.left is at 100. If I use:
Dim int As Double
int = button1.Left / Me.Width ' this = 0.2
'resize event
'Button1.Left = (int * Me.Width)
TextBox1.Text = (int * Me.Width).ToString
The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?
I am working on watermarking image.
In the below code I load the image to the graphics path using resource image and adding text on it. When I add the image through open file dialog it paints on the form with original size but I need to resize it, add it to the PictureBox, add text to it and give zoom and pan options to it and then I need to save with the original size.
When I resize and when save the image I endi up with a small image.
Here is my code:
Imports System.Collections.ObjectModel
Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D
Public Class Form1

Is there a way to automatically resize a windows form to fit a smaller display? I created a program on a computer with a 12" display, everything works fine. However, when I load the same program on a computer with a 8" display, I am not able to view all the contents on the windows form. Is there a way to correct this without manually resizing all the contents on the form?
View 1 Repliesi am working Vb.NET 2008 Windows Appl. I was created some Forms which are having some controls. If i run the Appl in my sys its working fine. But if run .exe file into other system like Windows 7 with 125% text size, then the forms and Controls are expanding i want to scroll it out. Is it any solution for fit these Controls and Forms or comapre the screen size and resize the forms and controls automatically..
View 1 RepliesI have been searching for a solution to this but I can't find one. I have played with the anchor and dock properties but they are not doing what I want, so here goes... I would like to place and size all of my controls on my form and then when the form is re-sized during run time (different resolutions, full screen/windowed, etc), have everything just scale up or down accordingly. Anchoring the controls to all four sides of my form re-sizes the control properly but it doesn't move it's location in sync with the other control's size next to it, they begin to overlap each other. Am I going to have to code my own scaling code for each control in my program?
View 5 RepliesI want a set of child forms to keep their relative sizes and locations to their parent form when parent form is resized. So if one child form is opened and covers the lower right quadrant.. it will remain a quadrant for whatever resize is done on parent form.

View 3 RepliesI have auto complete functionality in combo box ,it works properly but there is little issue ,I made the suggestion list appear for the text length more than 3 chars ,but the list appears after the length of 4 char (when user enters the fifth char of the text) which means when the code executed in the first time the list doesn't appear here is the code in Text_Changed Event
Private Sub TxtItem_TextChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles TxtItem.TextChanged
If Trim(TxtItem.Text) <> "" And Trim(TxtItem.Text).Length > 3 Then
'Autocomplete
[code].....
Note : This issue causes the application exit (sometimes) on Windows XP, but Doesn't affect on Windows 7
I want to automatically generate VB.NET forms using tables from a SQL Server database (one form / database table). It is perhaps possible with writing custom custom code for it, but if there is already some feature that does the job that would be great (database has 40+ tables, manually doing this is a tedious task).
View 1 RepliesI have this picture to be more clear: 95028490.png My idea is when I paste (ctrl+v) for example this number : 4111111111111111 it would automatically paste them in textboxes one by one in order!
