Is there a way to automatically resize a windows form to fit a smaller display? I created a program on a computer with a 12" display, everything works fine. However, when I load the same program on a computer with a 8" display, I am not able to view all the contents on the windows form. Is there a way to correct this without manually resizing all the contents on the form?

I like to know how to make the forms buttons and text and data... auto adjust when windows Maximize or minimaze..because when its big I can see everything fine and when I restore to a smaller window the buttons are on the bottom and cant see them... I have been searching for a solution to this but I can't find one. I have played with the anchor and dock properties but they are not doing what I want, so here goes... I would like to place and size all of my controls on my form and then when the form is re-sized during run time (different resolutions, full screen/windowed, etc), have everything just scale up or down accordingly. Anchoring the controls to all four sides of my form re-sizes the control properly but it doesn't move it's location in sync with the other control's size next to it, they begin to overlap each other. Am I going to have to code my own scaling code for each control in my program?
View 5 RepliesI want a set of child forms to keep their relative sizes and locations to their parent form when parent form is resized. So if one child form is opened and covers the lower right quadrant.. it will remain a quadrant for whatever resize is done on parent form.

View 7 RepliesVB Windows form Application.. I am developing an application of which part of the program is around configuration settings allowing the user to enter configuration items. When the menubar item for configuration menu is clicked on the main form the menu opens.This is fine but the mainform should not become active again until the configuration menu has closed. This does not happen right now and the mainform simply comes to the foreground and the configuration form goes to the background... I realize that coding an event on the Child form to handle this would not work because the child window loses control and the main form gains control.. I thought of coding a function as follows on the main form but it does not seem logical because i would have to add to it for everyform and do checking to make sure the child is actually open before trying to close it..

Let say I had a project contains 10 forms and 10 reports and typed dataset (xsd)I am trying to divide my project forms into dlls, so when the client had a problem or asks for modification in single forms, I had to build the project all over again and the exe size will be large.
in my current project, the exe size is 4.8 MB, and I am working with customers by internet and remoting, so every time I make small changes (change the back color of textbox in one form) I had to rebuild and send the whole 4.8 MB to the customer. And not forgetting the increasing size of the exe with time.I know that converting my project to class library and built it will convert it to dll, so I had to create a second project to manage it.
1 - Can I convert 3 or 4 forms / 10 forms total in my current windows application project to dll?
2- What is the best recommended method to divide the project into smaller entity.

THe use is that controls are added at runtime to the form, and when the locations/values are loaded on a computer with a larger monitor, they are in the incorrect positions.

The thing is that the image is bigger than the control, so I want it to automatically resize the image, as IE does when the same thing happens there, and it even shows a little magnifier glass to restore the image to full size.How can this be achieved? What happens at default is that the image is bigger than the control, so a quarter of it shows and I have to scroll to see the rest.

View 3 RepliesI'm making an app with several forms and wanted to add a label to each form that, when double clicked, would resize the form to 10 x 10 pixels.
ControlBox, MaximizeBox, MinimizeBox, properties are set to false so there is no title bar. No text or icon. MinimumSize is set to 0,0.
I made a new project that consists of one form with one label to make sure there was nothing in my code causing the problem but still every time I double click the label the form is resized to 27 pixels high by 112 wide.
