I am trying to create a simple VB 2008 application with a resizable form that has a transparent background. Seems easy enough to do, but if I do nothing more than create a new Windows form project with one form, set the transparency key on the form to a colour, and then set the background to the same colour, and then run it, after about 3-5 resize operations, I cannot resize the form anymore, except from the top, if even then. No errors, just odd behaviour.

Dim nNewWidth As Double = 0
nNewWidth = Double.Parse(Me.Label5.Text) / 100

I'm making a tileset creator and everything is working fine so far except previewing a tile. The way it works now is it gets the image from a picturebox and calls the following code when scrolling the mousewheel. It functions fine but there is a border appearing between the tiles and I can't figure out why. The source image is 32x32 in size. Most likely it is the graphics class not measuring in pixels or something.
Public Sub ResizePreview(ByVal dSize As Drawing.Size)
Dim bm As New Bitmap(TileImage.Image)
Dim pTile As New Bitmap(dSize.Width, dSize.Height,

I'm looking to draw a trackbar normal, only with a transparent background. I have created a new class that supports transparent backgrounds set to true. Without using userpaint, the trackbar does nothing or takes the color of it's parent. When using userpaint I have to draw the control on mine own. Not quite sure where to start first though...
I've read about drawing a line (not so hard), drawing a floating object (to act as marker), and handling events on when the floating object moves left/right... Drawing 3 separate objects inside an inherited trackbar control seems like a clunky way of calling methods that should exist somewhere? Is there an easier way to draw the control normal without a background? If not, some in starting to implement all 3 new objects working together would be good (I could draw them separately but that's about it).

I'm currently very far into a project which has taken me several months. I have suddenly hit a snag. I have 6 Aboutboxes and of course 1 Form and Splashscreen.On the splash screen I have some lables and I can't seem to edit them, its like they don't exist, but there deffintly there.Another problem is that I cant resize the Form, and also 2 of the aboutboxes, won't resize either. I can resize it by holding shift + arrow, but this is highly unpractical and unnecessary, since it worked perfectly before.

When hover over sizing handles or form edge, cursor changes to double headed area but nothing moves. I can drag controls with mouse onto form. I am writing a program that programmatically generates buttons based on database information. The buttons CANNOT be more than 75,75 in size. The problem is, if the text is longer than 9 characters, it moves the rest on to a second line. How can I make the font size automatically adjust to have larger text if it can, and if not, have smaller text to fit on one line

I'm currently in the process of making a dynamic signature generator, and I want to make the user be able to see what he would get... So I thought of putting a browse button and allowing them to load up a background image for their signature, but I also want the picturebox to resize according to that image's size. I need them to be the same size because of the image's X, Y are needed for the signature.
So I'm using this code for that:
LocalMousePosition = PictureBox1.PointToClient(Cursor.Position)
xy.Text = ("X=" & LocalMousePosition.X & "," & "Y= " & LocalMousePosition.Y)
It works fine, but it only gets the coordinates for the picturebox, not the actuall image, so I think if the picturebox is the same size as the picturebox it would get them just fine..

So I am playing around with the resize event. My form is 500 wide, my button.left is at 100. If I use:
Dim int As Double
int = button1.Left / Me.Width ' this = 0.2
'resize event
'Button1.Left = (int * Me.Width)
TextBox1.Text = (int * Me.Width).ToString
The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?

Is there a way to automatically resize a windows form to fit a smaller display? I created a program on a computer with a 12" display, everything works fine. However, when I load the same program on a computer with a 8" display, I am not able to view all the contents on the windows form. Is there a way to correct this without manually resizing all the contents on the form?

I have been searching for a solution to this but I can't find one. I have played with the anchor and dock properties but they are not doing what I want, so here goes... I would like to place and size all of my controls on my form and then when the form is re-sized during run time (different resolutions, full screen/windowed, etc), have everything just scale up or down accordingly. Anchoring the controls to all four sides of my form re-sizes the control properly but it doesn't move it's location in sync with the other control's size next to it, they begin to overlap each other. Am I going to have to code my own scaling code for each control in my program?
