In this column I want user to enter numeric values alone and when the user moves to next cell the value should get formatted to date type value(ex: 05/09/09). Similarly I have another column which must accept alphabets alone.

Feb 25, 2011I have a datagridview I am displaying on a form and would like to format one of the columns differently then the available formats. I have a column that is a decimal(18,2) (in the table) named "MyDecimalField". In asp.net I could do this, in the "template field" of a datagrid.
math.round(MyDecimalField / 60 , 2)
In VB.net forms I cant figure out how to do that. Basically I need to divide the cell by 60 and round that to 2 decimal places.
IE
the Cell contains this: 1283.93
I want the user to see this: 21.40
1283.93 / 60 = 21.3988333 then round it to 21.40
Conditional Formatting Of Bound DGV?
Jun 20, 2009I have a DGV that is bound to an Access DB DataTable. I have added a column in the DB that is either a 0 or a 1. When the program loads, I want to change the backcolor and forecolor of each row based on the value of this column's cell. ie: a 1 makes the row red, a 0 makes the row green. this column would be hidden in the DGV.
Is this possible to do at runtime even though it is bound?
I'm not sure when I would actually do the color swap, formLoad?
Second question, as I iterate through each row of the DataGridView and need to change the value of this column, will this update my DB automatically, or do I need to call an update() after each row?

I'm displaying the data from the database via DataGridView with LINQ. In order to display the DGV I have this code:

I was thinking to add another column named "Symbol" and based on the "Status" column to format the cells of the "Symbol" column to display an image.
I edited the DGV, and add a new image column.
I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.
LE: Should I Insert the .bmp files into SQL database (varbinary(MAX)) If yes, how?

1. How can I set row(d) to sum row(a:c) for each column (for multiple years of financials)
2. Is there anyway to not only make a row readonly, but make in unselectable (to skip totaled rows)?

The code I need to use to launch the form is a little bulky becuase I have to ensure that the form is not disposed, and that the form is not already openbefore launching a new instance. I'd like to have all of this checking happen in one place at the end of the function, which means that I have to be able to pass the right form type to the code at the end. The query is grouping by DATE (data), this OK, but the km2_FF values not, is not showing anything. To be more clearer, this datagridview has different values of km2_FF for the same date, I want to display the total of km2_FF for each day.

Get Column Data Type In Datagridview For Comparison?
Dec 15, 2009I am writing validation for a datagridview which may open a number of different tables (dependant on what the user selects). The idea is that the user will select a lookup table to edit or add too, the datagridview opens (via a binding source) and populates itself with a specific table's data.
The user can then edit the data in the rows and when they are happy update the dataset which in turn updates the database table.
This all works except there is no validation per say prior to the update. As the datagrid loads a different table dynamically I cannot predetermine table column names (without writing a mass of hard coded values) so I would rather go by the datatype of the column since the tables all follow a similar format.[code]...
