DataGridView - Formatting One Column Differently On Form

I have a datagridview I am displaying on a form and would like to format one of the columns differently then the available formats. I have a column that is a decimal(18,2) (in the table) named "MyDecimalField". In asp.net I could do this, in the "template field" of a datagrid.
math.round(MyDecimalField / 60 , 2)
In VB.net forms I cant figure out how to do that. Basically I need to divide the cell by 60 and round that to 2 decimal places.
IE
the Cell contains this: 1283.93
I want the user to see this: 21.40
1283.93 / 60 = 21.3988333 then round it to 21.40

Based on our tests primarily done in VB.NET in VS2010 it seems that when you close a WinForm the "RowValidating" event of the DataGridView on that form behaves differently depending on whether the form is MODAL or NON-MODAL. What we did was open the form (MODAL and NONMODAL) and changed a value of a cell and then immediately clicked the "X" to close the form. It looks like the "RowValidating" event DOESN'T fire if the grid is on a MODAL form but it DOES fire when the grid is on a NON-MODAL form. We can't figure out why that is... Is this a known bug in .NET?

I have set a column (which is a phone number) in the designer with the following: DataGridViewCellStyle { Format="(###)###-####" }
This seems to have no affect upon the results when it is displayed. It simply displays ########## every time. Where should I set the formatting?

I have a datagridview in a form in windows application in which I have a column which accepts date values. I have a SQL database, with some "status" strings. For every status I need to display a .bmp image .
I'm displaying the data from the database via DataGridView with LINQ. In order to display the DGV I have this code:
Me.MyTableAdapter.Fill(Me.TestdbDataSet.MyStatusList)
I was thinking to add another column named "Symbol" and based on the "Status" column to format the cells of the "Symbol" column to display an image.
I edited the DGV, and add a new image column.
I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.
LE: Should I Insert the .bmp files into SQL database (varbinary(MAX)) If yes, how?

Two quick questions about datagridviews... I have an unbound dgv and I'm trying to do some simple formatting but sadly my .net knowledge is limited at best. I'm trying to make a balance sheet and I need to do two things:
1. How can I set row(d) to sum row(a:c) for each column (for multiple years of financials)
2. Is there anyway to not only make a row readonly, but make in unselectable (to skip totaled rows)?

I have written some code in a form which is shown via ShowDialog from a different form. This code fills a DataGridView with data from two tables in a dataset, one through data binding, and one through more manual means. The latter part runs, or more accurately, fails to run in the same way if I call this form in the same way subsequently but without stopping debugging.

I am trying to add a checkbox column to a DataGridView in a simple window forms application.
I am pulling back some data from a database using ADO.NET, putting into a datatable, and then setting the datagridview datasource to the datatable. I then want to add a checkbox column as the second column. So far I have this code that seems to work:

This code 'works' and I get MyDataGridView to show the data with the checkbox column in the correct position in the table.
However, for some reason, I cannot check any of the check boxes in the DataGridView? I have tried lots of things (e.g.altering the readonly state of the column) but cannot get it to work.

Best way to describe this is with an example:Create a new form, stick a DataGridView on itAnchor it to top, bottom, left, rightSet AutoSizeColumnsMode to FillAdd X columns. I added 7, in a grid size of 545, 227Run your project The grid is filled with the 7 columns, column headers all displaying nicely.
Maximise the form, same thing, all looks good. Restore the form. Column 6 is no longer correctly sized. Why? And any ideas how I fix it?

I have a MainForm which contain SecondaryForm as a control of the MainForm.SecondaryForm contains DataGridView which loads data from sql server and I add a collumn named SUM that SUMs all the values of the same row. This is provided within the LOAD event of the SecondaryForm.When SecondaryForm.Load events finishes, the program goes back to MainForm right after the line "SecondaryForm.Show" and here the values of the column SUM disappear.When i write those values runtime, they never disappear.

I have a DGV.It has some columns.The columns are in the correct order e.g. 1,2,3,4 at design time.When I start debugging and then come back to VS, the order of the columns have changed and I have to put them back in the correct order everytime.After some testing I have realised it only occurs if
1) I make a change on the form that holds the DGV
2)Leave the form open in VS while I play the application ie. debug.

I am developing a software using microsoft visual studio basic 2010. I used a datagridview control to display a list of data from product table. What I want to do (actually I am not sure how to do it, or is there a way to do it), when I choose one of the value in one of the column inside the table, I want it to open a form that contain data(details) based on that value.
How to do it? How to call the value that I pressed, so it can be used to open a new form containing the details of that value

I have a datagridview which is bound to a table in a database. In said table, I have a field called Date and a field called Time, among other various fields. By default, I see that VB.NET attempts to help me by formatting the Date and Time columns for me, however I would like to do it my own way. I checked the columns' DefaultCellStyle fields and found them blank. Apparently, its current behavior is defined elsewhere. How would I go about removing the default formatting that VB.NET put in place to make room for my own?

In my form load event I am setting the defaultcellstyle formats. They are not taking hold anyone know why? None of the formatting that is expected in the code after I bind the datatable to the grid is getting done even though the code steps through it

I am fixing up a visual basic program using visual studio 2005, specifically in visual basic. I am currently attempting to format the datagridview used to display data from a database. The values from the database being displayed are a mix of integers (used for displaying information such as number of units sold) and floating point values (used to display revenue, etc). I need to format all the values to display as integers (by simply truncating the decimal places, not rounding) as all (including the values that should already be integers which are appearing with two 0s following the decimal place). I have used the round function as follows round(value, 0, 1) which as I understand should get rid of all decimal places by simply truncating them, however I am still left with two 0s after the decimal place. Next, I went to the designer view and edited the columns property of the datagridview so that they are all set to be numeric with zero decimal places, yet the decimal still remains. I followed that by going back into the code and change any CType() that were decimal to Integer and still no change.

I am working on a vb6 to vb.net migration project using vs 3.5. I have a datagridview.in a particular cell of this grid, user has to enter only numeric data. but after user enter data, itshould become concainated with a $ symbol (eg: if user enter 34, the cell value should become $34). And if he/she presses the hyphen ("-") in the key board, the data (ie. $34) should become -$34 and if again presses the hyphen button in key board, the data should become $34.

I have a DataGridView that is showing some weird numerical data. For example, my under lying datatable of the datagridview has 4.69, but the datagridview shows 4.6899999999999999995. What is weird is it doesn't do it for every cell in the column. For example, my underlying datatable has 2.66 and the datagridview cell shows 2.66, which is correct. I should note that the underlying datatable column that contains the numbers is of floating point data type which comes from the database column and the datagridview column is TextBox. Here is what the values look like in the database, underlying datatable and datagridview.
