I have a DataGridView that loads info from an Access DB. The user can change the data accordingly, but how can I make it so the form will save the data that was changed? I know I'll have a SAVE button... but not sure what methods to be calling on the DataGrid

In my form load event I am setting the defaultcellstyle formats. They are not taking hold anyone know why? None of the formatting that is expected in the code after I bind the datatable to the grid is getting done even though the code steps through it

I'm adding a textbox to my grid as follows and formating it as a date.But reagrdless it doesn't seem to want to format it as a date.Further how would I prevent, for just a single column, the user from entering anything but numbers and "/"'s?[code]
View 5 RepliesI have a form with multiple datagridviews. On save the entire dataset will be serialized to a strongly typed property bound to a sql varbinary(max) Works fine. Of course the current "dirty" cell will not be saved as mentioned here :

My problem is the user could be coming from any one of 20 datagridviews when they click SAVE. Is there any way, short of checking for a dirty cell in each datagridview to commit any dirty cell before the save ( clicking another textbox control before the save does the trick but calling the focus() of that textbox prior to the save does not ) I was thinking perhaps catching the event of leaving the grid but it seems the base problem is clicking a button (for reasons I think I understand) does not fire lostfocus events for the current control and it doesn't seem the click handler args knows what the last current selected control is.
I have a form that has around 4 txtboxes. Data is inserted into these boxes and then a "Save" Button is pressed. I have a GridView added to my form and want to view the entries. The issue I am having is that when I click the save button the data doesn't show up in the DataGridView until I close the application and then re open it.

View 1 RepliesOk, so I have created an Access database, and everything is working fine (much to my amazement) except for one thing. I want the database "update" button to validate the input before applying it to the dataset, and if there is an error (empty field) I want it to pop a message and highlight the text box in question where the error occured (there are 7 textboxes).
How precisely do I go about doing that?

View 2 RepliesI have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.

View 9 RepliesIts a League Organizer, basicly ive started it off with 16 teams and end up with 1(winner) 16 box's on the far left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1. the 16 box's have "Team 1" "Team 2" etc... ive put a new/clear/open/save button in that order.

In a word processor of mine, I made a save and open feature, but, I'd like to improve my save feature, so that, when the user tries to save, it doesn't make the user choose the location every single time. So I pretty much want my save to do the same thing as MS Word when you try to save.

I am busy with a Windows Forms application.The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button.With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.
I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I need to redraw a button in a button column in a DataGridView. Nothing to complicated other than I do not want the width to be as wide as the column width. To do so I am assuming that I have to create a custom button column object which inherits from the ButtonColum. Then I am assuming that I have to over-ride the Draw of the buttton itself.
