I've added a DataGridView and on a MouseDown event I'm invoking a ContextMenuStrip on the right mouse button. But for somereason the context menu always appears at the top center of my DataGrid.When I look at the value of e.Location it is always the same regardless of where I click in the grid. I'm at a loss as to what is going on. Below is the code for the MouseDown event:
Private Sub dgvTreename_CellMouseDown(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs) Handles dgvTreename.CellMouseDown
If e.Button = Windows.Forms.MouseButtons.Right Then
i am using an unbound datagridview so i can dynamiclly add rows. all that is working fine. but the grid is not is the location i have coded.. i am using the defualt form as a base then coding the unbound stuff in.. should i just create a blank class file and do everything? the only problem i am having is the grid must bees in the correct location according to the pixel point that i have given it. Right now it is placing the grid at point (0,0) no matter what point is entered on the line for location. so what am i missing??????
I have been having an issue with returning records from a SQLServer database where the date the record was created is between 2 user specified dates. When I populate the DataGridView with the results, they are incorrect and do not follow any recognisable pattern.
For example, if I specify the dates 05/05/2010 and 12/05/2010 I get the attached data in the DataGridView.
Code: Private Sub btnGo_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnGo.Click 'Clear the DataGridView
i just want to make a program with first form to enter the serial if correct just continue to form2 if incorrect just a popup say like "Serial Incorrect" how i can make it ?
When a MouseDown event occurs on a System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView I'm performing some action. But now I only want to perform said action if the MouseDown event occurs on any part of the Grid EXCEPT for the Headers (row or column).
I have several DataGridView's that are located in several different containers. I want to display a small form in a precise location relative to the RowHeader when the user's mouse moves over the row header of the datagridview. How can I get the screen coordinates of the RowHeader? The code below does not display the form in the proper location. I want the top-left corner of the form to be displayed 15 points to the right of the Right property and 15 points below the Bottom property of the RowHeader.
I make 3 datagridview control in 3 tabpages with same size and location, they stack together.I can tick the related datagridview to show such each datagiridview.But when initialize or tab selectedIndex change event, change from dgv to another dgv. dgv display in mess, all border line and color are not shown property.When I resize my main form cause dgv resize, it display fine.
1)Is it bugs for dgv ?
2)I try to run the Main_resize before but also not ok , need to manually regulate the main form size.
I have a datagrid view with 3 columns and variable rows. I have many rows so it is tough to know what is where so, the first row consists of names.I have a textbox in which I type in a name and hit a button. Doing this, I want the location of the that cell in terms of row.no and column.no.
Extended : for the adjacent ones just add +1, +2 etc to the column number right ?
I would love some help on how to get a DataGridView's Row & Column location on a mouse double click. My program requires that I dynamically add n-number of tabpages with DGV's so I declare my own class that inherits TabPages and creates its own DGV control.
For the code below I use a simple form (form1), add a tabcontrol via the forms designer (tabcontrol1) to it and remove the two default tabpages keeping the basic tabcontrol.
I have a context menu which is shown over a DataGridView as follows below. The Context menu is shown if the mouse up occurs over the second column of the DataGridView. I also have a bunch of event handlers set up for each item in the context menu. I now want to pass the location of the cell in the datagridview to the event handlers.Do I have to pass the NewPoint() to a public variable and then translate that into a cell location within the event handler?
Private Sub DataGridView14_MouseUp(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As MouseEventArgs) Handles DataGridView14.MouseUp Dim hitTestInfo As DataGridView.HitTestInfo
As I have no idea on how to retrieve access data at the specific location in the table, so I wrote VBA code t export the entire access database to a datagridview which is located in the form1. There's a column of datagridview contain complete address information of a image. I'm thinking a way to link image source (of form 2 or xaml file) to the the column so that the image will be displayed. is there any code to get cell value at the specific location in the table? In excel VBA, sheets("Sheetname").Cells(rownumber, columnnumber).value is used to get the cell value, but how about code for this case?
How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.
I have 2 group box components and both are same size,font,location and visible is false. When i click button2, the groupbox1 won't appear(the group box2 is on bottom n group box1 is on top).
Example:
button1
groupbox1.visible=false
groupbox2.visible=true
button2
groupbox1.visible=true
groupbox2.visible=false
Because i want to show the different,so the location have a little different(actually both are same location). I think my code is no problem. The problem i guess is both component cannot locate at same location?
we have a user that my program works fine for.. and another that it just crashes for.. they get this error
"You cannot start application <App_Name> from this location because it is already installed from a different location."
then they run it up again and it comes up.. and then just closes..in reading some stuff online it says its a framework 2.0 sp 1 issue ?these pc's have 3.5, but my program uses all 2.0 stuff..so is this a 2.0 sp level issue ? or should I make my programs start to use framework 3.0 instead ?
I was using this old method of creating a bunch of rectangles when I need to get the location of a certain point within a grid so I could draw images on the grid. The thing is, I don't want to use rectangles, I want to be able to just round the location as if I were using rectangles. I need it to be able to round the point (66,70) to (50,50) so if you can imagine a grid and the mouse position being within that square in the grid, I need to get the location of the upper left corner of that square.
I have encounterd a problem when trying to re-enstall a program i have writen in vb 2008.I get the following message:"You cannot start application Shell from this location because it is already installed from a different location."This program is to be used on many workstation computers and i need to be able to update any changes by just reinstalling the program, no uninstalling needed first. If the program was installed from a cd first and needs to be updated from a flash disk this error will be a problem, if the update is from a cd as well then there is no problem.Is there a way to change the installation package to ignore where the program installs from and just update itself?
I'm currently working on a project that has a simple game . I want to change the location of a label ( middle ) to another location when a key is pressed down. But there is something wrong with the first of the If statement .I've underlined "point " because it has the error.
Private Sub Space_Navigator_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown If e.KeyCode = Keys.Up Then If middle.Location = Point(156, 655) Then middle.Location = New Point(156, 547) End Sub

Dt = MyMod.GetDataTable("SELECT TOP " & QuestionsPerCats(i) & " * From Questions WHERE CategoriesID ='" & Cats(i) & "' ORDER BY NEWID()")
but now i decided to use sqlparameters like
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("SELECT TOP @QuestionsPerCats * From Questions WHERE CategoriesID = @CategoriesID ORDER BY NEWID()", conn) Dim sqlParam As SqlParameter = Nothing sqlParam = cmd.Parameters.Add("@QuestionsPerCats", SqlDbType.SmallInt)
It was suggested that I use xmldocument.load to do a sql insert statement instead of BULK INSERT.However when I run the Sub I am getting this error: "Incorrect syntax near '<'. "Here is my code, I have no clue what is causing this error, or how to fix it.
Sub AO() Dim Z As String = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Format(Today.AddDays(-1), "MMddyyyy") Dim AO_Name As New String("\NetImportAO-M_" & (Z) & ".xml") Console.WriteLine(AO_Name)
I have dll and exe files which have assebly version numbers different from the values stored in AssemblyInfo.vb.If I look at the information displayed in the Details tab of File properties in Windows, the File version and Product version values are identical with the values of AssemblyInfo.vb. But when I use My.Application.Info.Version to display the version number at runtime, the value displayed is incorrect. Also when I add a reference to a dll file, the referenced version is incorrect. The incorrect value is the same as the value last time AssemblyInfo.vb was edited on the local machine. If the AssemblyInfo.vb file is edited on another machine, the value won't be updated on other machines.
Typical example: On a nightly build the build server increments the build number of all AssemblyInfo.vb files. When developer workstations are updated in the morning (get latest) the build number isn't updated at runtime - even though the AssemblyInfo.vb file is updated and compiled into a new dll or exe file. But file properties in Windows displays the updated build number as described above. I've been looking for other places where a version number might be stored (in case there are more than one place to update the version number), but I can't find any reference to the displayed build number when I search the source files.
If a developer workstation edits the build number, compiles, and edits it back to the correct value and builds again, the displayed value at runtime is equal to the value in the source file. It's like the AssemblyInfo.vb files must be edited on the machine that builds the solution, or the result is not reliable..
i am having a problem with my date format. i want the format to be MM/DD/YYYY for example 02/28/2011 . i have put custom format in my event. but when i change my setting in regional settings it changes the format

I have a problem with this visual basic statement every time it runs it gives me an error saying: incorrect syntax near? ive checked i a lot of times and i still cant find the problem.. heres the statement:
Sub InsertNewRecord() Me.Text = "Inserting New Record" Dim cmdInsert As New SqlCommand
The Code has two options. Option one starts with 1 dollar and doubles everyday for 10 days. If this is correct the value should be $1024 but instead it shows double that ($2046)
The second option starts with $100 and adds $100 per day for 10 days. The number should come out to an even $1000 but instead shows $6500

Trying to find out the cause of 'Incorrect syntax near ,. in the insert statements below :reason didnt use the GetDate() for the sInputDate and sSuccessDate is to manually get the precise datetime.now in the upper code and calculate the difference with the sSuccessDate.
