i'm doing a project for school which requires me to make a fully functioning database program with validation. I'm done with almost everything except a few things and that includes the database, since i don't really know how to make validation rules and masked fields.It's possible i'm guessing to in forms and such but in datagrid view?

I have an field, Address2, which is optional. Thus if it is null, no validation rules apply. However, if a value exists, its length cannot be greater that 255 characters.
I have been toying with:

But if it's not present, I still get an error.
How to enter the date in the masked text box and how to validate it
View 2 RepliesOK, so i was going to verify a MaskedTextBox on whether the number input was or was not 10 digits in length. If not 10 digits, obviously they didn't put in a full phone number.
The problem is, even though you have no digits the length is still 10 so you can't check if the user put in 10 digits or not and return an error? Anyone got any ideas on testing for a phone number?I've seen tons of examples on date verification, but none on phone number verification.
I have a function i'm using to validate some textboxes. However, the zip code masked textbox validation is not working. Zip code cannot be missing any of the first five digits (the last four digits are always optional). Here is the code that is not working. All of section 1 is always required, but section 2 is optional. However, if section 2 is started, then all fields are required.

iam currently working on my uni project and i have encountered a problem with valadation section.My system displays a message telling the user to input any fields that they have missed out on, listing the name of the field. However as these IF functions are in order the user must input the data in the order of how it is in the code. for example if the "consweight" is inputed and the calculate button is pressed, it thinks that all valadation above it has occured, when those fields are still empty.

One textbox (txtLogin) is a user name and the other textbox is a password (txtPwd). I'm trying to compare what a user types into those two boxes to a table in a vfp database. The table I'm trying to compare to is open about 99% of the time so I need to be able to read from it in some type of "shared" mode.
My Select statement needs to be something similar to "select * from sites where clogin = txtLogin.text and cpassword = txtPwd.text"I just don't know how to get this to work properly.

I have a problem trying to copy 3 fields on a form to a database. The reason I cannot seem to do it is that the last field asks how many copies you want to save in a combo box. So lets say the user selects 3 I need to be able to copy three sets of the same data to the database.
