In one of my school assignments I am trying to count fields (that are strings) in a database and then publish them to the screen, however I can't seem to figure out how to count them.I've been trying to do something like this but I am having trouble with the bold part. I think the datatypes are the issue but if not this then what? What is a better way to try and do this?

ok i have a comma delimited text file with two fileds. I am loading the first field which is strings into a checked list box based on a open file dialog prompt. now when the user clicks a button i want it to be able to increment the second field(which isintegers)of the corresponding string field index by one and save the file. i am very confused on how to even start this.

I want to make a little program that will count down the hours to a specific date. I.E. "Hours until: ##/##/##"
Like they do for new year and other big events in the world or whatever but I'm having big problems. I don't know how to use datediff to compare the difference in hours from 1 date to the next.

I have a problem trying to copy 3 fields on a form to a database. The reason I cannot seem to do it is that the last field asks how many copies you want to save in a combo box. So lets say the user selects 3 I need to be able to copy three sets of the same data to the database.

I have been tasked with writing a program for our yearly reviews. We want all of the information gathered in the form to be submitted to an access database. I have created the form and the database. I can send info to the database but it is put on a new line everytime it is submitted. I would like to check the first column of the table to see if the user login is already there. If it is there I would like to update the information. If it is not there I would like to create a new row.
