I have a textbox for searching a database. When the text changes it runs a functioncFilter() and loads the records. It is set up to search different columns of a database, and it unfortunately only the first record matching is pulled from the database. Example: when the database contains two people (Bob Smith & Bob Smitt) the user can type the name in the search field. However When the user types Bob Smit it only returns Bob Smith and not both names in the database. I want this to act as a filter, dynamically changing the last with each additional letter typed in the search box. Below is my source code,

I'm trying to design a words game that's give you the first two letters from the word and you insert the rest to make a word (for now I'm just using "co" as example and I have just one table in the database for it). The word will be written in textbox to be compared to a database field. If the word exist in the field the word will be displayed in a label with blue color and the score will increased by one if not the word will be displayed in the label with red color. This should happen three times with three words and I have different label for each one.

One textbox (txtLogin) is a user name and the other textbox is a password (txtPwd). I'm trying to compare what a user types into those two boxes to a table in a vfp database. The table I'm trying to compare to is open about 99% of the time so I need to be able to read from it in some type of "shared" mode.
My Select statement needs to be something similar to "select * from sites where clogin = txtLogin.text and cpassword = txtPwd.text"I just don't know how to get this to work properly.

I have a problem trying to copy 3 fields on a form to a database. The reason I cannot seem to do it is that the last field asks how many copies you want to save in a combo box. So lets say the user selects 3 I need to be able to copy three sets of the same data to the database.

I have been tasked with writing a program for our yearly reviews. We want all of the information gathered in the form to be submitted to an access database. I have created the form and the database. I can send info to the database but it is put on a new line everytime it is submitted. I would like to check the first column of the table to see if the user login is already there. If it is there I would like to update the information. If it is not there I would like to create a new row. I am an experienced programmer but am new to VB. To start, I am trying to create a simple database program. (My ultimate goal is writing a comprehensive database program in 6-8 months)I have created the database and bound the fields to a form.
But what I want to be able to do is add a field to the database and then also bind that new field to a textbox on the form.The new field appears on the list in the Server Explorer window (on my left) but not in the data sources window (on my right.) The data sources windows has a "refresh" option but that does not help.When I manually add a textbox and try going to DataBindings in the property window the new database field is not listed.

I have been placing my database fields (details view) on a form but for some reason they are all appearing as text boxes with the exception of date fields. Why are none of them showing as drop down lists?

I've been attempting to tinker around with connecting a MS access database to a vb 2008 app. I've successfully connected and can access the data by using the add data sources tab. But what I'm trying to do is create a form that has a (1) single line text box, (1) button, and (1)multi line text box. I enter a name in the single line text box, click the button(search db), and when the info is found, it is displayed in the multi-line text box.

Everything was fine, but adding a couple of maskedtextbox has become difficult. I don't know how to pass the value of this fields to the database. I used the following code:
