i connect database with vb.net and also i receive a single value from my receiver through serial port. now i want to match this single data with one field of database. i have attached my code.

I'm trying to design a words game that's give you the first two letters from the word and you insert the rest to make a word (for now I'm just using "co" as example and I have just one table in the database for it). The word will be written in textbox to be compared to a database field. If the word exist in the field the word will be displayed in a label with blue color and the score will increased by one if not the word will be displayed in the label with red color. This should happen three times with three words and I have different label for each one.
the name of my database is database1 and it have one table "A" wich contain "Comp" and "word". I tried this game with array of word before and it was working. Now I'm trying to use database instead of arrays but its not working. [Code]

I am working on DataEntry Forms in VB.NET There are two controls are having in a present window. One is Combobox and one is Textbox. Combobox values are Mobile, FAX, E-mail. By the mistake some one enter the values like , In the combobox-E-mail and in the Textbox-9987453434. Finally these are saved on the Database. But i want to Re Enter the values.
For this i was selected in the Combobox-Mobile and in the Textbox-9987453434. These are the right values i want to save on the database.
But here the problem is that Phone number column(Textbox) is Indexed. (Unique) or No Duplicates in the database. Now i want to update only one column which is coming from Combobox in the database.
How you might construct an array like the following: one column or entry would be a single integer, like 0, 1, 2, 3, 4... - i need this as an index of each one's position in the list the second would be 0 or 1, or true or false the third would itself be a list of integers 0,4,5,2,7,2,5,2...
So all together one entry would be {0; 0; 0,4,5,2,7,2,5,2} while the next might be {1; 0; 6,8,2,5,2,3}

Im pretty use to doing loops (although still relative new to vb) in my code however am having difficulty setting up one that picks up an entry in one data table and then sums a field in another where records have matching criteria. Example:

What i am trying to do is set up a datagridview on a form that shows the summary data. The time is controlled on the form by a trackbar (output to textbox) and I started setting up a loop using (For/Next) to isolate firstly the matching entries in field 3 (time). This works fine. I then used compute to sum the the field 2. However what i want to do is to loop through table 2 and where entries match i.e. where Field 1 in table 2="A" sum matching entries in table 1 where the DateTime matches.
I have a combo box with a list of Coordinator IDs, one Coordinator can run many subjects. On another form I have a list box that contains a list of the subjects, and another list box that has the coordinator that teaches the subject. The positions match up, i.e if there is a match for the co-ordinator ID in the list box at position 3, I want to extract the subject list box at position 3 also. The problem is 1 coordinator can teach more than 1 subject. Basically I want to show the subjects taught by the Coordinator the user selects in the combo box. I have a reporting utility for my users to view, send (via email), export SSRS reports. I have set up date parameter boxes with calendar drop down and they are able to send via email a URL link that would either display the report via ReportViewer or send a link via email (listbox of email addresses) that would let them view the report in Excel or PDF. This is working just fine. Now I just added a button for adding new email addresses and a new windows form with a textbox for entering the email address and a command button for Save Email Address. I am able to save the email address just fine from the small pop-up window for entering the email addresses but after closing the window, the listbox of email addresses on the main form does not get refreshed with the new entry from the textox even though the SQL table EmailAdresses got updated.[code]...

What I'm trying to do - VB 2005 express and sql 2005 express editions - Trying to set up just a basic hardware/software inventory program. As is I've got separate tables for computer and software licenses...with ComputerID and LicenseID primary keys respectively...where I'm bumping into walls is that I wanted to be able to link them together with a foreign key, for example the computer record would have a foreign key for LicenseID and when a license would get installed the ID would go in and there'd be a nice pretty link. However I run into scenarios where a computer might not have any software installed...or might have more than 1 software item. Or a single software item may be installed on 1 computer, multiple computers, or nowhere. It possible to have that single foreign key field link to multiple records from the opposite table?
What was originally suggested to me was to have a 3rd table called Installations. It'd have 3 rows...one named InstallationID as the primary key, and 2 foreign key rows named ComputerID and LicenseID that linked to the other tables, so that when a license was installed, a record would be added to the Installations table, and later on when we wanted to see where all a particular license was installed or what licenses a single computer had, the table could be filtered by computer ID or license ID and all matching records could be displayed. When I tried that out though I'm having a heck of a time getting the correct items to display.
Just as a basic test i set up a new form and dragged the tables onto it from the Data Sources window using "Details" view for each of them, so that it set up the table adapters and binding sources and navigator for me. I got rid of the auto-added labels + textboxes on the form and added just a couple new textboxes, 1 linked to the licenseID and one to another row i had in that table for productkey...tested it and it moves through the records fine and the correct data shows up in each box to correspond with the other. now though I'd like to add another control to display each of the ComputerIDs that are linked to the particular license being displayed in the other controls via the foreign keys routing through the Installations table, but I'm not having much luck.

I already made the multiline text boxes and the main functionality of my bot,
all I need now is the program to submit multiple keywords from user input and it should be 1 keyword in the field per submission.
I am trying to upate date value as well as time value to a single datetime field.I can update date or time by using today.date or today.time separately.But I don't know how to update both to one field.
