MaskedTextbox - How To Pass Values Of Fields To Database
Apr 24, 2010
I am new using Vb. I did create an app that accept general customers info, and save it into a database using the bindingsource component(I don't know how to do it with SQL from VB). Everything was fine, but adding a couple of maskedtextbox has become difficult. I don't know how to pass the value of this fields to the database. I used the following code:
phonetextbox.text = maskedtextbox.text
Leaving the original fields in the form, I see the values on them, but they never goes to the database. Is this just possible using sql command from VB?
I have tested my code in order to pass single value to single parameter field in crystal report from VB.NET Form, it is ok but the problem is that I want to pass multiple values to only one parameter field called "Product Name" and it displays only one last record.
I want to display like this
Receipt : 0001 Product Name pencil pen stamp book
[Code]....
I already set parameter field "productname" for allowing to multiple values, but it is still the same.
how to disabled and uncheck the checkbox values from database fields.. if i have entry in my database records as :
[Code]...
I want on page load event the default date for todays is 11-Dec-2010 then checkbox1, checkbox2, checkbox3, checkbox4 will be disabled and unchecked state for 11-Dec-2010 as you see on the above database structure the seats for 11-Dec-2010 is 1,2,3,4 so the chekbox1, checkbox2, checkbox3, checkbox4 will be disabled... I wanna this code snippet in VB.NET
I am working on a Windows application written in VB with Visual Studio 2005. I have a number of fields where the user needs to enter currency amounts. I am using a MaskedTextBox with the following currency mask. msktxtAssessedVal.Mask = "$ #######.99"
The problem that I am having is that when the users type in the value, the cursor always starts at the leftmost position and appears to force as many digits as the mask. The typical data values can vary anywhere between 9,999,999.99 and 20,000.00. If the users do NOT have a value that has 7 digits left of the decimal point, they need to move the cursor to the correct position before they start typing in the value. These users are used to quickly typing in their data, then tabbing to the next field so the current behavior is not acceptable. We previously used a ComponentOne MaskedTextbox, however, their controls now are no longer free and the boss will not pay!!!
Does anyone know if there is a way for the maskedtextbox or any text control to detect where the user types the decimal and format the data accordningly?
I have a table which contains a list of products for a company. They input data about how much stock they have and also the level at which they want to be reminded that they need to order new stock.

I want to list all the true results in a form which the user is then able to navigate through. What would be the best way to go about doing this?
I have a FormView where I pull data from one table (MS Access), and then insert it (plus more data) into another table. I'm having issues with the dates. The first table has two date fields: date_submitted and date_updated. In some records, date_updated is blank. This causes me to get a data mismatch error when attempting to insert into the second table. It might be because I'm databinding the date_updated field from the first table into a HiddenField on the FormView. It then takes the value from the HiddenField and attempts to insert it into the second table:
Dim hfDateRequestUpdated As HiddenField = FormView1.FindControl("hfDateRequestUpdated") myDateRequestUpdated = hfDateRequestUpdated.Value '... It then attempts to insert myDateRequestUpdated into the database.
I am getting the above error in my code. I've searched the net (on this site and others) for a solution to this problem and it seems that its either something to do with a field name being a reserved name ie. Date, Time etc.... or its missing (') or (") in the SQL command. ive tried both these solutions to no avail.
Dim objDataAdapter As New OleDbDataAdapter Dim objDataSet As New DataSet Dim objDataReader As OleDbDataReader Dim i As Integer Dim SQLstr As String [Code] .....
I have this Text: Hello <<FirstName>> <<LastName>> in which the <> and <> are merge fields in a document, and I have a list of customers in an array which I want to allocate them to these fields. How do I do that?
here is my code. dont seem to know whats the problem. i have 12 data fields in access excluding the ID field.
Dim strCon As String = "Provider=Microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0;data source=C:UsersdexterDocumentsdesktopcsci14databaseMuseum-final.mdb" Dim dSet As New DataSet
i am making a simple testing application within visual studio 2010, thought im gonna be direct. in ms.acces i made a database with a few tables, this one is about the table : leden. the error indicates that i simply do not have enough values to insert into the table and i think it has to do with the ID(autincrement in acces)
I have a class (using a class rather than a structure only because I can set a default field value for the fields I declare in the class) and I'm using a web service that returns information (demographic information) in JSON. I am using LINQ to get the values of each "entry" from the returned list and in that, I have to parse through and pull out the actual data that I want. Here's how I have it doing right now (just a start, there are 44 of them total, thus my question which will follow the code):
Dim returnedStats = From ljo As Linq.JObject In returnedObject.SelectToken("results") ' ' For Each stat As Linq.JObject In returnedStats
I have a DetailsView which has two fields - one that is visible, one that is not. The first the user fills out, the second I want to auto-populate. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a way to set the value in this second invisible field. I've tried adding code like this to the Page_Load:
If Not IsPostBack Then DetailsView1.DefaultMode = DetailsViewMode.Insert Dim txt1 As TextBox = DirectCast(DetailsView1.FindControl("Type"), TextBox) txt1.Text = "administrator" End If
But this returns an error of "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Any ideas on how to accomplish this - either using the method above or another method? The hoped for end result is that when a new record is inserted via the DetailsView that this record will include the username (entered by the user) as well as the "type" of "administrator"
When i parse some html and get the fields i need using regex, the first 4 fields returned are fields i don't need, so essentially i need all fields returned after the 4th one.
vb.net '// First piece of data we want... Dim stringID As New Regex("(?<=><optionvalue="").*?(?="">)", _ RegexOptions.IgnoreCase Or RegexOptions.Singleline) Dim stringsMatched As MatchCollection = stringID.Matches(stringClean)
[CODE]...
Is there a way i can blank out the first 4 fields returned?
[code]....I have a dialog that comes up and asks for a reason for declining the business.I don't want the code to move on after not enabling the "me" until the reason has been entered and saved into the database. Also, at that point where it says "I WANT...." I want to copy the textbox fields into a new database and then delete this entry from the database, how can I do that. I am using VS 2008 and SQL.
I'm trying to use hyperlink fields in my gridview to pass certain values into another page using querystrings. On the next page I've put 'labels' that should be populated with data from the gridview, however nothing happens. This is my gridview code:
I am in the process of creating a program that needs to pass some information to another program. The program that needs to receive the data is meant as an update program to the first. I send a new copy of the host program over the sockets connection, then I need to pass the file name and location to the update program. After this information is sent the host program will quit so that the update can overwrite the host with the new version. The the update program restarts the host and everything goes on like normal. I have everything all-ready in place, except for passing the file information. I could just save the information in a text file and read form this, but it seems messy and illogical.
I am building VB.NET application that takes data from text files that are exported from a legacy DOS program. These are written to a datatable and displayed in a datagridview. Right now my code simply loops through the datagridview and inserts the data into the database (SQL Server). There is a requirement now that the client number must be checked before the insert to see if it exists in the database. If it does, then the value of one field (tax rate) is checked against the value of the field in the datagridview. If there is a difference, then the rate is to be updated in the database and the data that was in the database is to be written to a history table for audit purposes. If the client number is not there, then we are to do the insert (which is already written). I want to know what is the most elegant and efficient solution for this problem.
I need to compare what is in the database table with what is in the datagridview, update the history table for records that exist, and then insert new records.
Im having problems passing values from my class "client" to display on my main form in text boxes. Im looking up a user input number and then pulling the clients first name, last name, and phone number from a text file. I figured out how to pull the information from the text files, but now im having difficulty passing the values to display in a another forms text box. This is what I have so far.[code]....
I have figured out, or think to have figured out, that the new way of doing arcs and lines does not require the HDC, so that problem is solved. The problem I am having now is that with the new way, every example I have found created a sub that does the drawings, like:
Public Sub PictureBox1_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.Paint Dim radius As Integer = 20 Dim diameter As Integer = radius * 2
[code]....
Is there anyway to pass values to this sub? I have to draw several arcs and lines and the values for them are different everytime. I would like to create a sub that would be used in every spot the old program used the old arc command and pass the needed values through it.
Dim oMyObject As New MyObject oMyObject.DoSomething("Parameter1","Parameter2")
The "DoSomething" and the two parameters are dynamically provided from another script. They are stored in a string object in this script: sAction & sParameters. My question is how can I dynamically pass the "sAction" to the object oMyObject. For example oMyObject.sAction (where sAction should be the value stored in the sAction string). The example will probably not work. Is there a way to do this? The idea behind is to avoid having to write each function hardcoded, like:
If sAction = "DoSomething" then oMyObject.DoSomething(sParameters) ElseIf sAction = "AnotherThing" then
I have 2 textboxes on form1 that I want to pass to 2 labels on form2, I used the Get Property to do this but i am getting errors, can anybody show me how to do this, I am new to visual basic
