Database Blank Without Data?

I am not sure about method to publish my program. But basically when I publish it no errors at all...I have database name usurfdb.mdb. I have set it build action to content and copy to outputdirectory = copy if newer.Should I amend anything on my usurfdbdataset1.xsd as well like I did on my .mdb?

I have 2 inputs from 0-180 for x and y i need to add them together and stay in the range of 180 and 0 i am having some trouble since 90 is the mid point i cant seem to keep my data in that range im doing this in vb.net

I am working on a timekeeping application, using Visual Basic 2008 Express edition with an Access 2000 database.The application requires the user to complete a timesheet by recording in tme and out time daily. Blank fields are perfectly frquent and perfectly legitimate.Using these lines of code it works perfectlywhen there is a time value in the database.[code]This indicates to me that the code to ignore a field containing nothing is not working

I have problem insert records from my vb application to my access .mdb dataabse with all columns set as not allow zero length string and when I insert a records in which one of the column is null value it show allow zero length string error any idea how to create a code in visual basic in which allow zero length without change the configuration of the database?
For example my record have job_no name station 1 des 2 albert so I need to pass job number 1 to my access database but came out with error zero length string off course my access database is set no all to do so but I have my reason is that any sample code to force to accept blank strings?

I have searched all over the forums and not found an answer to my question. My question is how do i write to an access database at runtime. The database is also created at runtime. I have a dataset loaded with a table that i needs to be written to the database. how would i write each row of my dataset to my database? Sorry if this sounds a little jumbled together it is late and i am tired. If it is unclear you can ask me and i will answer any questions you have about my question.

I'm trying add a new row to my databaseTo add a new record a pop up form opens (form2) with a textbox for the user to input their name, they then click the save button and the popup form closes and the main form (form1) is still showing and the added row seems to updated in combobox although it is blank!.This causes a new blank row to be added to the database - the data in the textbox is never saved to the database

I'm trying to fill a ListView control in a VB2005 project. It works fine from underpinning (Access) database IF all the data is present. However, if a field is blank (in this case - a field called "Actual Date" which is meant to be blank for this record), the ListView will stop populating at that point.I thought this may have been the 'CausesValidation' property of the ListView but that doesn't seem to change the behaviour.Is this an inherent feature of the ListView - if so it seems daft - or is there a property I need to change or an override that I need to code?

I have a datagridView,which is filled with the Click of the Button.My Issue is i can see the data only when i select a row.When no row is selected by mouse then its just showing blank cell,whereas data is actually there in the datagridView.I know its something with the color setting from the DatagridView Properties.I have tried and corrected all the cell Style properties related with that DatagridView.And set the Cell Style properties exactly the same as of my other datagridview,which is working fine.

I am trying to pull sql data into a text file. The code works just fine, until some new data comes in from lazy employees and a couple fields (used for notes/comments) are now left blank. Originally I've never seen them blank so I didn't think anything of it.

It will error if the field is ever null - I even tried using a case when:
case when note is null then '" & empty & "' else note end and set the variable emtpy = '', but vb still thinks that it's null and errors?

I'm currently writing a small app that takes data provided by an SQL stored procedure and makes it available for easy export for non-tech savvy users. I'm trying to make this as generic as possible, in that you should be able to plug in just about any SP and follow my template to have an export utility. I'd like to add a way to get the column names before running the SP from the SP itself. I had assumed you could just run the SP with impossible values so nothing is returned, then get the columns from the resulting VB.NET DataTable. However, if there is no data returned, the column names aren't returned either. How can I get the column names from the SP without having to hard-code them?

Some of the columns contain date information, which are read in fine (usually as a string "2/20/2011" or so), but the headers of those columns are read in as a blank "". The headers for all the other columns read in fine, but not for the date containing columns.

This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. The program has a DATABANK of words with the phonetic spellings and matches the word, then translates to phonetics. The problem is that new words keep appearing inside the language. I am sitting with a situation that I have to combined (3 years) for 26 site of 29000 database files where there is 1 table in each data base called RECDATA, I need to combined all that data Into one database file called RECDATA.
For example there is a database called DB1 with a REDATA table inside it, and then DB2 with a RECDATA table inside it, DB3 with a RECDATA table inside it est. So I need to put all the Recdata into 1 Database file, or to copy all the RECDATA from all the database files to 1 RECDATA they all have the same columns All I need is to get all that data into 1 RECDATA table.
The program where this database comes from is a voicerecording system creating a new database every day. There is 1 database just for indexing (to view the recordings) and then the daily database is where the recording lies in, that Colum is called RECFILE. I will give you a example of the 2 database.

I have a report made in Crystal Reports XI. The report is generated and exported to PDF in visual basic script using COM interface. Generally everything is running smoothly, but in one case generation breaks with error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code 9421]
Database used is MSSQL 2005 connected over ODBC to CR XI. When I am opening report with exactly the same parameters in Designer, everything works fine.It looks like it is data related, but it is hard to trace since the whole report is pretty sophisticated. Anyway I spent half a day on crawling over Dr. Google and it seems that he has no clue what might be an issue.

I have VS 2005 installed in my sytem fyi.We have two databases, say source database and destination database. The databases is in Oracle. Now we need to pull data from Source database, manipulate it and push it into the destination database on daily basis.We are planning to use VB .Net for this and would like to know if this is feasible. Using windows forms through VB .NET, is it possible to create a exe and schedule the exe on nightly basis to pull the data from source to destination.how to do this as for manipulation of data, there is no intermediate database for us?

I have a data logging application that stores data in a table in a MySQL database. Data with a TimeStamp is logged into the table anytime the data from the sensor changes. This means that there maybe 2 seconds between data points or there maybe 20 seconds between points depending on how the data is changing.
When I need the data I have 2 dates and use this command to fill a table..SELECT FROM myTable WHERE timeStamp > date1 AND timeStamp < date2 This gets all the data that has a TimeStamp between the given dates, but in most case the first date in the returned table will be after date1, so I need to get the data from one row before the date returned in the table to know what the data was at date1.How can I get the data row that immediately precedes the returned data set?
