View 2 RepliesI have a main window with a datagrid in the upper half and a tabcontrol in the lower half. The datagrid contains a list of companies. One of the tabs of the lower tabcontrol contains the information about contact persons corresponding to the company selected in the upper datagrid.
On the tab I place a usercontrol.

When I run the application everything works without errors. The Sap number of the selected company is passed to the function UpdateContactsXCompanyDatagrid correctly. The Me.dgContactsXCompanyList.DataContext seems to be assigned, but the contact persons' datagrid is EMPTY. No row is diplayed.
I am creating a notes software. This is just a simple application that will show the data from the database which are Notes_Title, Due_Date, Priority. I display the data with datagridview. I also added a checkbox for each row to the datagridview to mark as check if the Notes_title is already done. In displaying the data, I need to display only a 5 data in a row.So, I create a another CLASS that will only show 5 rows per page. But the PROBLEM is, if I mark the checkbox as check in the first page then if I turn it to the next page the checkbox in the first page that mark as check will be uncheck if I turn it back to the first page. The mark check in the checkbox will mark as uncheck if I turn the page. How can I make it mark as check even if I turn the pages? And How can I save the data row as done if I check

So i've been working on a page for a project where the person logs into a login page and then can see a list from the database of employees. everything is working except for one problem. If someone puts in a username and password, username= a and password=b, for example it still allows that individual to view the next page and doesn't throw the error that i have enbedded on the login page to say sorry you have the incorrect password/username. View 1 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.

When a user clicks the + button on the binding navigator, I want to set the displayed item of acombobox to the value displayed in a label. The combobox is bound to a field in the table. Theproblemis that when the user clicks to add a new record the combobox is cleared and they forget to select a value before they click save.

View 3 RepliesI have a working code that exports the datagrid into XLS. However, the datagrid results does not show on my aspx (html) page. It only shows on the page when I comment out the part that exports it to xls. I am not sure whether it should show by default when exporting.Basically, what I want to have is when I click my export button, it should display the datagrid on the page as well as popup an excel "open, save, cancel" window for the export.

i'm using Enumerable.Except to check if a DataTable in memory is in sync with the table in database.
The background is: this DataTable and other frequently used tables are stored in the Cache of a WebApplication. But meanwhile i'm convinced that this is not a good approach because it's a source for nasty errors that are difficult to reproduce/debug.
Therefore i've created a function that checks if database and memory are in sync, otherwise an error-log will be created. This works perfectly. If there is a row in memory that is not in database, this row will be shown below "Difference in database", the same applies in reverse. But if rows exist in both datasources(the PK idRMA) and some values differ, the log will contain this row in two versions(below "Difference in database" and "Difference in database"). It is not easy to see the differences on the first sight.
Q: Is it possible to select only the properties that caused Except to think that first sequence is not in second?

I have an event which handles multiple controls. How can I tell which control caused the event? [code] I want to run validation on each control, (combo and textboxes) and if it succeeds, enable a button. I could do this for every control individually but I want to know if I can use the sender value to determine which control needs to be validated.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to do a little remake of the old game Achtung! Die Kurve, which is a snake-like game, but with multiple players trying to corner eachother until one remains. Don't play it, it's way to addictive, thats why I'm doing the remake now, I want to play it with up to 8 players instead of 6.
Now here's the problem: to draw the snake, I just use the GDI+ and make it draw a 3x3 rectangle on the form background. It works fine, until you resize or minimize/maximize or something like that, which causes a complete repaint of the form. This is not a problem... but when I press ALT or TAB, the form repaints.
And even stranger: it only happens the first time I hit each button. I can make it happen twice by hitting ALT and then TAB or vice versa, after that, nothing. I really don't get it, and its driving me crazy. I dont want a game with a splash screen saying 'First hit alt, then tab to start the game. Not at the same time that makes you leave the game.'

I know it's possible in asp.net to create a custom error page in a web app, by putting the following line in the web.config: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="frmErrorPage.aspx" />
I have had to do this for my web app, since it is clearly much tidier than letting the program bomb out with it's ugly default error page. My custom error page just has the customer's logo and a brief message saying "Error has occurred. Please return to homepage"The trouble now is that I have no way of knowing what caused the error, when a customer reports it.
Is there a way to make the actual error message appear on this custom error page too?

View 3 RepliesI opened up a project from a while ago (an app we use daily) to implement FileSystemWatcher. I thought I did my homework but apparently not.As it was, a button fired off a sub to do some work. Instead of the button firing it off I wanted a file change to fire it off. Only after implementing FileSystemWatcher, now nothing in my app works. Just about everything I try to perform is met with this error:
"Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'TabControl' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on." (TabControl being from purecomponents)My best guess is, when I create the watchers I'm throwing my app into some sort of background thread? Is there a better way to start the watchers? Or do I have to now change all existing code with invokes? I get a little lost at that point.
