When I run the following code I get the error "Concurrency violation: the DeleteCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records.", I know that this happens when the data is changed in between pulling it from the database and sending it back but, the database is not being edited.

I am using oledb to read and update a MS Access DB in an ASP.NET application.I read the member dataset and fill it using the data adapter.I modify the row of data in the dataset.I then use the data adapter to update the row and get the error shown in the subject.
I am an experienced developer using ado.net on sql server windows application via the data adapter, so am familiar with how this should work.
I have searched everywhere and am hoping that someone here at Microsoft might have the answer.

My client recently got this error but I can't reproduce it on my pc. Any Idea what the problem could be. I have a master/detail scenario. So I have a grandparent/parent relationship, so when I select a product from my product combobox it displays the relevant results from the Result_Header table in my first datagridview.
Then I have a parent/child relationship so that when I select a result_header item from my first datagridview it displays the child records from the Result_detail table. If i'm adding a new Result_Header and then click save, I search for existing tests for the chosen product and insert them as new datarows into the Result_detail table. then I can update the child rows and click the second save button and it saves what I edit. Quite complicated.

I am working on a program whereby insert, update and delete of database is required, i have been able to do so successfully but the above error occurs when i tried to insert a new row of data into the database and tried to edit it and update it to the database. The database platform i used is SQL server 2005 and i am using datagridview to display my data, my primary key is "s/n" which is an auto number, however, whenever after i insert data into the database, the newly added row has the "s/n" column blank shown in the datagridview and after i edited that row and tried to update it, the error occurs.

I want to see if anyone has used one table that has a primary key (not displayed) in the DataGridView. Then use a text box on the same form to call and group what if viewed in the DataGridView table. I want to group the displayed data of the DataGridView by the primary key of both tables.
View 1 RepliesI have made several posts on here lately regarding master/detail or parent/child data setups but no one has been able to help. It seems like a subject people don't like to tackle BUT I really need help.
I'm having a real hard with the DataView.RowFilter functionality and it is driving me insane.
For the most part, I have the basic master/detail functionality working. When you select a record in the first grid, it shows the correct data in the second grid. When you enter a record in the first grid, you can enter related data in the second grid. I accomplish this by using a dataview and row filter bound to the 2nd grid. When you change the record in the first grid, the rowfilter for the 2nd grid is restated and reapplied.
The problem arises when I overwrite the primary field value in the first grid and the detail records become orphaned. You would think all I have to do is change the ID in the 2nd grid to match the new ID in the 1st grid but this is where I am having problems. I wrote a loop to change the ID of each record currently loaded in the 2nd grid to match the newly changed ID in the first grid. The code is here:

I have used this code before and it works great. It has to step backwards through the grid because when the ID's are changed, they no longer match the RowFilter criteria and they disappear from the grid. They still exist in the dataset. The problem is, while the code "works" the intended effect does not. Some of the records completely disappear from the dataset and do not reload when I restate the row filter against the new ID number.

I'm trying to add functionality to my DGV that enables the user to edit the cell data and then save it to the datasource but I'm not getting very far. Right now, I'm just concerned with the editing the DGV part.
What's the best way to do this taking into consideration: A column of type date in hh:mm format will not edit. I want to only allow editing of one column in my DataGridView, but I want to allow the user to double click on any item in the row, and when the CellBeginEdit fires, force editing of my colum. I started by doing this:

I have a problem with the database and the DataGridView. After editing the attributes of the database you can not see changes in the DataGridView. If you connect the DataGridView through code connection is correct. What could be the reason? What could be the fault of pliu nmd_piDataSet?

View 4 RepliesI have a Windows Form VS2010 .NET 4 project with a standard DataGridView bound to a datasource on a form.
The grid has a text column that I want to be a point and edit at the character clicked to. Like normal textbox/editors when you click on the character you want to adjust. If possible I would also like to use the UP/DOWN keys to move between rows but would like the cursor to move to the same character position obviously in the same column without selecting the entire text.
I have tried a few things:
DataGridView1.ClearSelection()
DataGridView1.BeginEdit(False)
The BeginEdit just puts the cursor at the end of the text, which means another click to point to the character position for editing.
I know a Commercial grid like DevExpress defaults to editing in which you can click to the correct character position with one click but obviously costs money.
I have tried in the DataGridView1_EditingControlShowing event

I'm having problems editing the text of a particular column in a datagridview from the front end. The text enters ok but as soon as the cell loses focus it goes back to the old value. The datagrid view readonly property is set to false and I don't have any problem writing to the other columns.
